Just a suggestion...check to ensure that you have sufficient balance on the card/acct. I also had similar problem; thought it was the address...changed and rechanged several times but to no avail, until my friend checked his acct balance. It was only the money I sent to his acct that was there and u knw there are surcharges aside the actual amount you want to pay.

Of course, ma'am, you do have a chance of getting quality graduate education abroad. It just depends on your level of tenacity and dedication. You have acquired relevant experience in your discipline, and that's great.

However, the GRE neutralises everything, if you had a not so super undergrad GPA, your GRE helps you prove to the school that you can apply the reasoning skills required in Grad school. So you are in the right direction.

Focus on scoring as high as possible on the GRE for now. A GPA of 3.49 from School A differs from a 3.49 from School B, so your GRE scores provide a means of you proving to them that your GPA is no fluff, so please take it seriously.

I am also taking mine this November, and God has been good to me, letting me get help from people, including those from this thread.

GO THROUGH THE FIRST POST ON THIS THREAD. REALLY SUCCINCT AND VALUABLE. I HAVE LOST COUNT HOW MANY TIMES I HAVE READ IT!

Pick a test date, get the relevant materials and start prepping.

@glocal1, IMO, yes it is still possible to work towards fall 2016. Let's look at this scenario.
You write the toefl on 14th November, and write the gre late November or mid December (You can rewrite the gre after 21days of your last exam and score reporting takes 10 - 15 days).
There are many good schools with priority deadline of January 15 (to be considered fully for funding). So it you write your gre and the scores can be sent to these schools before 15th January, you are good to go.

You can do way better in your next gre. Since you already familiar with the exam structure, just concentrate on practice (Manhattan 5lb practice book).

I would have picked a date right away, but this November, I have my ICAN exams to complete. Though, that ICAN or not I obviously, can't attempt GRE this year. But am setting a target for April, is there any exam date in that month?

I think I have to rewrite d GRE after scoring 298 V150 Q 148 AWA 3. I believe I can improve on my scores. I was so complacent n lazy even as d exam date was approaching. I never did any practice test except d few ones solved in d magoosh videos; neither did I practice any issue/argument task. I fell sick to d extent I felt like shifting d date, but I summoned d courage to write it as earlier scheduled. What do u guys suggest I do, what timeline do I consider to study n improve greatly on my scores. Can I still meet up with 2016 fall admission with funding considerations as I'm banking solely on sch funding. I'd be writing TOEFL on d 14th of Nov. Is it also possible to get funding with dis score in a US public sch for MS/PhD, not minding d rating. Cc sirriddy,zeezahbee, bigfrancis, msnas, horace,slimmy05, Nedum360, Phemix, RickyRozay, Jabinodelarata,brainride, sabiguy and other gurus on this forum, ur suggestions would be highly appreciated as I don't want to waste my application fees.

You will see the dates for 2015 on there. Why wait till April next year? If you can afford 3 hours per day, you can prep for two months, and take it come Jan. What do I know anyway?

If you still have enough time to prepare for the GRE but have challenges with the verbal, download GRE bible, then solve the comprehension & text completion questions there. You may be lucky to find few of them on your real GRE.

Even up to the moment of writing this, I don't know what GRE is about, I don't know how much it cost to write, I don't have an idea of where and when it can be written. for quant and verbal use go with barrons. Its really good. It starts with the basic assumption that you know very little. Additionally it is well structured and full of many useful examples. Then proceed to solving alot of questions on nova and manhattan. Please solve as much questions as you can o!!!!!!! This part is really important. You can read all you want but if you cant solve questions, your knowledge is irrelevant.

For Analytic writing, i'll advise you use kaplan. Its really, really good.

Evening friends. I have been away 4 a while since taking d GRE. The reason is obviously not far fetched. I need to research 4 schools, apply early enough and leave d rest to God to perfect it. I am applying for MS Mech Eng and UH is one of d schools I will b submitting my app.

Yes boss, applications stage have not been easy. Nevertheless I have submitted complete app to two schools now., but am still looking for more schools with better funding and admissibility.

Comrades, I need your opinion here. How do you handle the uncertainty of your test score with respect to sending it to your desired school? In essence, you have identified your desired schools but are not sure if you will meet their required scores on the test day. Do you go ahead and send irrespective of the score, or, do you before the day of the test make provision for alternative schools that accept average GRE scores, say 300-305?
