Fellow Nigerians,

I just read a through a thread created by Cramjones on Biafra and I must confess that he made a lot of salient points there.

There is no doubt that many Nigerians are bitter and frustrated here and there so I decided to open this thread to seek for contributions on how to foster real unity amongst Nigerians.

How can genuine reconciliation be achieved especially between the east and other Nigerians? I as a person believe that nothing is impossible and that all things are possible with God so I believe that if we are sincere, there can be true reconciliation and genuine healing of the civil war wounds.

Yakubu Gowon----An Igbo president will help heal civil war wounds.
http://www.vanguardngr.com/2015/03/igbo-president-will-help-heal-civil-war-wounds-gowon/

Cramjones--------Release Nnamdi Kanu, sit him down and discuss with him.

The floor is open for other meaningful contributions.

The truth is that Nigeria is a very great nation if we can be united and love one another.

We just have to be sincere and address some issues to move forward.

The ibos lack strategy and sense, that's why I laughed when they spoke of Nigeria falling for Nnamdi kanu's grand strategy by arresting him. What has happened since his arrest? Nada!

The ibos always destroy their future politically and developmentally especially when it's almost time for them to achieve such. Everyone knows 2023 should be the turn of the ibos to rule, but their constant cry for biafra will never make them achieve such. Who would want to handover presidency to a separatist tribe?

2023 will come and the baton will be passed to a Fashola who is ever ready, qualified, tested and trusted with love from all tribes except bigots.

The more they clamour for biafra, the more the yorubas and the SS gain.

Nigerians like you have been saying this for 100 years. I'm sure if I come back after another 100 years, they will still be saying the same. How can people who have nothing in common unite? It's like asking "Tom and Jerry" to become brothers. Waste of time

This reminds me of the 3Rs
In 1970,Gowon proclaimed the no Victor no vanquished mantra, then proceeded to take actions that showed the opposite.
If Gowon had been bold to say the reality that Nigeria after 30 months of war defeated Biafra and crushed her army,it'd ve been clear and Igbos wouldn't have under illusion of their present status in Nigeria.

The Black Man's Propensity To Always Fight The Wrong Battle.
CASE STUDY: (BIAFRA)

As a young Nigerian Woman, I have always wondered if there is something inherently wrong with the black mind. I have often tried to understand what exactly is our utmost desire and why most of the time, our emotions are much greater than logic.

The Biafran struggle is not an Igbo struggle but also a black man's struggle. Our wants most of the time are largely driven by our emotions at that moment and never for the good of humanity. The Biafran dream is a pipe dream that can never be achieved unless the agitators channel their anger to the right direction. As different as we are in Nigeria, we have so many similarities that make us stand out. A Northern Nigerian is very different from the people in Niger and Chad like wise an average Nigerian seems to stand out in a group of different Africans. The difference is the Nigerian spirit.

I don't believe in co-incidences. It is an Atheist definition of Destiny. We are Nigerians because it was meant to be. We are in the same Country due to a much greater power and reason beyond human comprehension. Our differences is our beauty. Our differences is what makes Nigeria colorful. An average Nigerian has the same hopes and struggles as a "biafran". We all have the same dreams. We all experience the same kind of pain and annoyance. No Nigerian has it easy because he belongs to a particular tribe and even the hausas that ruled Nigeria for many years, their people have nothing to show for it. We Nigerians from different tribes need each other because we are fighting the same struggle. We need each other because we compliment each other. The hausa man is very comfortable in agriculture, the Igbo man is very comfortable in his business, just provide a good environment for his business to thrive, the yoruba man loves knowledge. Many other minority groups are linked to the three major tribes. Add all this strength and you will get a prosperous economy. What is life without food, business and knowledge?

Nigeria is in a bad state because the citizens are fighting the wrong battle. Just as other black nations Like South sudan, Rwanda, Burkina Faso, Zimbabwe, South Africa and their killing of foreigners. Etc. Whatever an igbo man is going through is the same thing for a yoruba man and an hausa man. No free food, no free shelter and no free health care. Each ethnic group has it representatives in the federal level, state level and local government level. In jonathans government the igbos were well represented yet their leaders could not help in speeding up the completion of Niger bridge or the erosion menace in the south east. Who do you blame for this? The government or your government? Isn't it going to be the same friends and relatives of the "Zoo" that will rule in Biafra? The yorubas had nothing to show for years with obasanjo as the president. The only sense of belonging to an average Nigerian is when their people of the same ethnic group are in the government. That is a misplaced sense of judgement. Equal representation does not mean development.

So What exactly are the Biafran agitators fighting for? What have they put in place in their economy that an average igbo man would look up to? What would happen to the businesses and properties outside the east? Would food become cheaper by having biafra? Would houses become cheaper? Would roads be constructed? Would the Niger bridge be built? Would erosion stop? Would the igbos stop living the south east in their thousands because the government is doing nothing.

•If the ipob youths both in Nigeria and abroad can come out to demonstrate against the Igbo leaders the way they demonstrated against the Nigerian government for the detention of Nnamdi Kanu, that is the beginning of our revolution.

•If kidnappers start kidnapping politicians and their wives and children for a huge ransome, instead of kidnapping ordinary Nigerians who work tooth and nail to get to where they are with no help from the government whatsoever, that is the beginning of our revolution.

•If Bokoharam started years ago by killing the Northern politicians that have deceived their youths, stolen their common wealth and use religion to deceive them into not aiming high in life. That would have been the beginning of our revolution.

But, like the black man and his inherent nature to fighting the wrong battle, we would keep making the same mistake. What you cannot get out of Nigeria, you cannot get it in Biafra.

The political class have shown over the years that they are incapable of leading the people out of the woods. Though the foundation was wrong from the start.
The solution, is to divide it into manageable groups.
As for me; Biafra I want, Biafra I shall get.

What does it even mean to be a "Nigerian"?

Two salient points to make here......1) Nnamdi must not be released but tried for treason according to the law....anything less will be an abuse of the legal system.....and if convicted....he must be hanged for treason......2) Nigeria can not vote for an Ibo presidency for obvious reasons....no one will put an enemy in charge of his property......no one will ever vote in an ibo in the present disposition..... cool.....it makes no logical sense.....

Another good e.g of yoruba as an inferior race with inferior way of reasoning. What you cannot get in Nigeria as having being proving over these yrs, you can only get in Odua. Yes and yes because, you will get transformational education under odua, progressive and mordernize agricultural sector under odua, good roods, higher employment for the youths. No bokoharam, no fulani herdsmen slaughtering unhindered and etc.........talk less of biafra. Weather you accept it in life or death, *Yoruba and hausa/fulani way of reasoning ( well crafted out in history for the ultimate survival of the Empire States of Britain and their brothers and causens for a thousand yrs to come) are the bane of black race retardness, self evidence of no technological growth from a 55yrs old nation state under the conspiratorial management of hausa/fulani/ and yorubas axis. Singapore and the rest of them with similar history and less resources have left you behind, while your only outstanding achievement is to keep yourself down and underdeveloped, backward, poverty stricken and etc by holding the Biafrans down.

Yet, another classic example of inferior way of reasoning. Your backwardness, underdevelopment and poverty stricken is tied to the Igbos slavish destiny of which the yorubas under the above circumstances only have the key to unlock the freedom of Igbos?... By implication, it means that the stage of yoruba evolution, advancement, development, transformation as they stand at present are acceptable to the yorubas, hence the force of these collective changes can determine the destiny of Igbos?. If the answer is yes, then I say no more, and I rest my case.

Why are ibos the only people whose civil war wound refuse to heal? The people they forced into the war have healed and move passed it!

Ibos started the war and killed innocent minority tribes, and have boasted about 500,000 Nigerian soldiers killed here on nairaland. If all these people are added together, they will be more than the biafrans killed. So, before the Op, cramjone and the rest take Nigerians for fools again, know that some people can read between the lines.

Ibos starter a war and dragged everybody into it , looted central banks and then complain about £20 policy, a primitive tribe that probably didn't have a penny in the banks at the time, and if they ever had anything in the bank, can anyone tell me the reason why they wouldn't have taken all their money out since they were leaving Nigeria and knew there was no coming back for them

Remember when you talk that there are people that know how to listen and pull words apart.

Any reconciliation with ibos will set this country back, cos ibos hate other tribes and will continue to be a clog in the little progress of everything Nigeria.

Letting biafra go is the best for us all, but it looks like that's not going to work because of the same ibos claiming other people's land. Buhari should seriously look into regionalism, though ibos don't want that too, but is the 2nd best for us, and only PARASITIC LEECHES won't want to be on their own!
