Re: General German Visa Enquiries Part 2 by lmuhopeful: 11:46am On Nov 04, 2015 |
stevemims: Why advise him to contact the program coordinator? The instructions for applying to any program are clearly stated on the website of the program. Theflint1: Theflint1, do not be surprised if the program coordinator does one of two things: 1) Ignore your email 2) Redirect you to the link on their website stating the application requirements I think that if you really want to study here you have to be proactive about sourcing for information. Visit the programme website and read the instructions. Some people wonder about how to write a motivation letter. One of the key ingredients to writing a very strong motivation letter is to visit the programme website and read up on the research areas that they focus on and the courses that they teach. Incorporating these things into your motivatio letter is what makes it a strong letter. Bottomline: Don't waste your time writing the programme coordinator. Use that time to read up on the application requirements yourself and to prepare your documents 4 Likes |

lmuhopeful:Bro i beg to disagree about not contacting the prog coord/advisor,sometimes daad.de often refer applicants to the school's website while it's also clearly stated on school's website that for further enquiries contact the prog director/coord/advisor... So whats the biggy? While there are schools with FAQs,some schools dont have on their websites. I don't think its a waste of time trying to make certain clarifications before applying. 3 Likes 1 Share |
Re: General German Visa Enquiries Part 2 by kilo4sure: 2:24pm On Nov 04, 2015 |
stevemims:Yeah I agree with you, but you only contact the prog coord after reading and searching through their website thoroughly to see if your question has been answered, for example you do not need to contact the program coord if on the website a school makes ielts compulsory for all except native speakers, but if such additional information isn't given then you make that enquiry from them. I believe that's the angle lmuhopeful is coming from. 1 Like |

ucheluv: https://www.dropbox.com/sh/j5q3wiinno8ndqe/AAD9gTQGlLvzeUYrVAra4iQEa?dl=0 wOULD upload the other links later. Been really super duper BUSY. No, you dont need GRE. Only Top schools RWTH and TUM need GRE. You should consider applying to small schools though. As the wahala you will face there, which is overly massive, would be less compared to what you'd face in a top school 1 Like |

stevemims: Hello Seniors, Good day to everyone. I am new to the German Student trends. However, I will like to find out from you if I can be issued a visa to study for Pgd/Masters in Electrical/Electroncs Engineering. Considering my age and qualification(38 years old with HND in Elect/Elect Upper Credit). I also have A1 participation certificate from Goethe Institute. I await your urgent response. Thank you all. |

@Rayhut, i went to TNT to post the db form using their courier service & they charged me about 7,400naira & confirmed it will be delivered in 3days. I was so happy as DHL had billed me for like 13k yesterday & i was actually heading there before i changed direction to TNT. I was glad i saved like 5k. Unfortunately the happiness didn't last long as just this afternoon db message came in with my account details! they'd actually received the one i sent through my friend by scanning the signed pages. Now it's a mix feeling of being happy that i now have my account & on the other side losing 7k. Don't get me wrong i'm not castigating you on this, as a matter of fact i really appreciate your response. I just want others to learn from it that IT'S POSSIBLE you send a completed & signed db form to anyone you have there who will in turn post it for you & the bank DOES accept it as in the original. Also with due respect to every contributors here, I'll advise we say how sure we are on any certain answers we profer (like Frank Edoho in WWTBAM will say) as this will guide people on their subsequent decision. Sometimes, we make innocent errors but i think it's better to put our information in such a way that 'it wilo not be taken against us' in court of law Thanks once again Rayhut. Now to the next level........ gradually getting over. Alles gute 2 Likes 1 Share |

mikol:If you can, just take some time out to read the first 40 pages of this part 2 thread, this question has been answered over and over again, you can also search the thread by typing HND for pgd/masters in Germany, you'll get something. All the Best. |
Re: General German Visa Enquiries Part 2 by stevemims(m): 6:20pm On Nov 04, 2015 |
mikol:Your age isn't a prob... Is your upper credit in HND or ND? If its the former you will definetly get an offer for a bsc prog... PGDs aint common in Germany... The minimum requirements for masters is a bachelors degree... Use www.daad.de for your search... Other ogas go contribute... Cheers. 1 Like |

Don't get it wrong, winter semester starts September /October. Maybe you meant summer semester. It depends on your course of study and whether you're going for Msc or BSc. I think there are couple of schools that require just letter of proficiency from your university. I also think you ain't checking correctly. You could also try Study-in.de. NB: How can anyone suggest to you when no one knows your desired course or the degree your going for. Lol... Funny guy bikerboy1: |
Re: General German Visa Enquiries Part 2 by Nobody: 11:40pm On Nov 04, 2015 |
Adexhat:Ok, that is new development from them, all of us here that was affected in August for not signing the last page of db form sent our forms again to them via courier, even on the message body that db sent to us it was stated clearly that we should sign the form send it to them via courier, scanning and e-mailing the form to your friend in Germany to send is new development, the problem you have in your form is it that you did not sign the last page or you did not tick a place where they write are you a citizen of US, because even Nigeria banks don't accept a scan signature in account opening form. Also I thought that you are contemplating whether to send a scan copy to your friend to send or to use a courier to send it. You suppose to have use one option and wait for the outcome instead using the two option at the same time. congrat fund your account immediately, November is running fast. |

Certification, Notarisation.... Any which way you want to call it. The idea is just making sure your document is certified by either the consulate or the high court. Guitarlife: |

Rayhut: Yeah, i was also affected in August and it's both ticking US citizen thing & failure to sign the acknowledgement part. So you also did yours on August 3rd! After they replied that I should resend another form by courier in September, I repackaged it and send using NIPOST since 15th September. It seemed d mail got lost in transit as I couldnt get its whereabout even tracking it directly from NAHCO. On Tuesday i called a their office in nahco (where i was told all percels are moved) but they where clueless and refered me back to the post office i mailed it from. The guy i spoke with on phone told me it seemed d mail is hanging in Amsterdam. However i had already signed it & sent to my friend by email to print and post from there. He told me it should get there last week Mon/Tuesday and I expected that the account details will be sent latest by tomorrow Friday (which is about a week like they did for @Sirkels here). But because i wasn't sure if it will be accepted that's why i asked on this forum so that I won't be waiting endless peradventure they refused it (which they will NEVER tell me) and the nipost never gets there. Like you said earlier, it seems its a new info for others on this forum and it can further be made substantial later. What's good with you and when are you planning to move? Cheers & success to those making fresh admission applications. 1 Like |

Re: General German Visa Enquiries Part 2 by GottSeiDank: 10:49am On Nov 05, 2015 |
Before you certify your documents, you need to bring along a completed application form you filled from the University you're applying to. It's very important at the consulate. But you might not need that at the high court. CassieV: |
