Wat abt FGN bonds.

FGN bonds are also suffering from the same excess liquidity issues. Yields have been dropping massively there.

But if you are willing to go long....4 - 15 years its yields are still better than what we see in Tbills now.

There is primary auction for FGN bonds on the 11th of this month. Talk to your bankers or investment advisers if you are interested.

Bros we no sabi o!

I think its a deliberate policy by the CBN to force down interest rates so that banks could lend to businesses; considering the facts that we are now staring at 2 qtrs. of negative GDP growth and that will only mean recession.

but on a personal note I think as soon as the govt of PMB starts making fiscal expenses, CBN will have no option but to mop up the excess liquidity in the system..

So my oga @ the TOP...

So one should go into Stock exchange market for now...

Which 3 stocks will likely give a good return of investment in the short and medium term so that I can make some personal research and probably purchase them with my small liquidity...

Stock market is not for the fain hearted o!!

do you have the liver to take losses?

i speculate in the market and also have some long term positions too...

but for the speculations i do; i also put a 10% stop loss! That way am able to bail out with a small haircut if the trade goes bad

but for TBholders....its time to take some risk in the Fixed Income Mutual funds with guaranteed returns

I have however invested in the Fidelity Securities Bond Linked Investment notes when it was at 13.75% guaranteed return.

see link below where we have experts already discussing more on it.

but note that its not Risk free like Treasury Bills of FGN bonds

why not?

most fixed income Mutual funds do what an average investor should be doing......

they just search around for higher yields and just invest there..

at the moment i can do a FD in Heritage bank and get 12%...all i have to do is the leg work to find a bank branch that really needs the deposit.

and at the end they still charge you asset manager fee which at times could be up to 10% of your earnings

Thats true, for folks with hundreds of thousands at least. For folks who aggregate less than this on a monthly basis, it could be the only means to access such investments.

Diamond tell me 6.5% for 182days Dia fada!! grin grin

surely time to diversify. . .problem is, I develop skin rash once any investment doesn't come with the tag "risk-free".

I be like say no to jejely leave the kudi for savings acc till TB rates start respecting themselves once more. who knows when??

Its only a plot to get the banks to start investing in other areas. It will normalise soon. If they leave the excess liquidity it will lead to inflation.
