chukwudi44: Are u too partisan not to see that your line of argument has been overtaken by Administration of Criminal Justice Act of 2015 which says a criminal case can go on even despite the pedency of an issue before a superior court only that the judgement emanating from such case will not be executed until the issue at the supreme court is dispensed with. Pls grow up old man. 15 Likes 1 Share |

cornoil: But why are u guys castigating the CCT chairman as planned by Saraki's media team?? The CCT chairman did not give his ruling from abstraction. He relied on an updated Nigerian law which says such trial can go on! Just that if a judgement emanates from it, it will not be executed until the higher court dispense the issues before it. This from Administration of Criminal Justice Act 2015. How come you guys are overlooking this and heaping loads of criticisms on the Chairman. The defence of Saraki knows this! They are just trying to intimidate the CCT, appeal to the emotions of people not having deep knowledge of the law and entirely frustrating that case on technicalities and not the substantive issue. 10 Likes 3 Shares |

Reading some comments on here, you'll see why Nigeria is a hopeless country. A country where the so called youths know nothing and are filled with hatred, tribalism, religious whatever. And are blinded by it so they'll never see or say the truth. Those men at the top knows it and are manipulating it well 2 Likes |

Mynd44: That will amount to an affront on the judiciary. I don't want to know whether Saraki is guilty or not, but the CCT is really stting a bad precedent and I congratulate the SANs for having the courage to walk out on him. We need to preserve the sanctity and independence of the Jusdiciary. Why is the CCT in a hurry to proceed to trial? Even a first year Law student knows that the right thing to do is for the CCT to suspend actions during the pendency of the matter at the apex Court. I am sure their Lordships at the Supreme Court are very angry with the CCT for such disposition, but if they come down hard on Justice Umar, the public(who are ignorant of the law) will say the Justices of the Supreme Court had been compromised. Can you now see how external influence impedes the wheel of Justice? 1 Like |

Wike appealed to Supreme Court during the River State Election Petition case but the tribunal did not suspend trial but went ahead and delivered judgement. The Supreme gave there own judgement two days after. We want lawyers in the house to educate us more. 3 Likes |

If buhari n co claims to be guided by d constitution y can't they allow d constitution to take its course rather than fast forward a trial we all knw its a ploy to discredit saraki. An accused remains innocent untill proven guilty n sarakis case wount be an exception. So after giving his ministers a soft landing they want to discard him? Not possible. Nonsense n tmoro buhari will say I will not b a part of d happenings of the NAS. |

Sincerely there are lots of charges of embezzlements that are much more serious to pick up. if this govt is really out to fight corruption they should pick such not this false asset declaration (asset declaration in Nigeria has no meaning, 50- 80% of politicians assets are not in their names). On Saraki, immediately he became senate president they started with his wife then turn to him. If I may ask, why is the chairman of cct so much in hurry, first he boycotted the full process of the committee before taking the case to court now again he is ignoring the normal court process! There must be a Force behind! Anyway Saraki go to jail or not, E no affect me! 1 Like |

I smell rat, is it that saraki is afraid of judgement by the cct that he decide to connive with is lawyers to walk out ,there is a easier way for him let him confess to get a less punishment instead of all this gimmicks. 2 Likes |

All against the CCT, go and read the administration of criminal justice act 2015 and stop being lazy. This part of it should give you some lifeline. "Defendants are at liberty to file interlocutory appeals if they so desire but an application for stay of proceedings pending appeal will not be taken during the trial" 3 Likes 1 Share |

As for all of you who are talking trash about saraki n his lawyer who did d right thing I pray none of you would be in a situation whr you would be wrongly accused n wount be given the chance to air your opinion. E dey sweet to shout 'theif' theif'! But when we are the accused, it hurts. Do unto others as u would want them to treat you. Sarakis layer has a point. If its right for huhari to appoint all north n claim its in line with federal character it would only be fair to allow the case untill d supreme court rules. I rest my case. |

It's still same judicial rascality, though Wike eventually lost at the supreme Court, the tribunal ought to wait for supreme Court to pass the judgement. There is nothing like time wasting in the court of Law, we always want to twist law for our own personal purpose. It happens everywhere. adanny01: |
