Extra bag was 150 or 200, excess weight was 75, it worked out to the same rate per pound for both. The challenge is they won't even allow you pay for extra bag once you reach 4 per adult - and they didn't even consider the 10kg allowance for the kids. Remember we had 9 bags and 2 hand luggage plus stroller and car seat. They sent 1 bag back - my sister brought it for me later though. We wanted to check in the car seat and stroller, they said it was impossible too as we already had 8 luggage. So had we known, we would have packed 70pound bags instead of 50. ozycy: 1 Like |

I totally agree with both of you, flew BA last year with my first and the experience was way better than Delta. Delta doesn't even have safety belt for infants. You have to carry your infant on your lap when the fasten belt sign is on.... fehinebony: 1 Like |

jayjay4lyf: Congrats Jayjay on the birth of your baby. Discovered this thread sometime last year after I returned from having my baby in Massachusetts (Brockton) last year and have been following since then. I agree with you that the cost of having a baby in Massachusetts (particularly Boston area) is high but like your wife, I had free accomodation , feeding and my friends were really nice to me and organised a surprise baby shower and blessed by Princess with lots of clothes, shoes and some cash) so I didn't mind the associated cost of having the baby there cos I felt I was home. Has your wife picked up the baby's birth certificate? I was able to pick my baby's bc 3 working days after her birth. For her passport, I went to the Boston Passport Agency at 10 Causeway Street and was asked to pick her passport the following day. Although they advise you make an appointment before visiting the agency, I just walked in and was lucky I was attended to after explaining to them the passport was needed for an urgent travel to Nigeria. I used Eddy for the Nigerian Visa. In total, I was able to get all her documents in two weeks. I wish you and your family all the best. 11 Likes |

#Walks slowly into the thread # #looks right and left# So scared of asking my question, but strengthened with the fact that iv honestly gone through part 1, 2 and 3 of dis thread, and couldn't really pinpoint or rather remember the exact page to find the answer iv been searching for since morning. #stands upright# I beg, is this the correct and most recent site for the US consulate form to be notarised by a notary public? (Ds- 11 form) Dis consent letter by both parents, is only for visa application for the baby? Or both ETC and Naija passport inclusive? Help a well read novice o, d more I read, d more confused I become # Runs outta thread# covering face 2 Likes |

twingirls: Come back hia! It's not DS-11 form o! It is DS 3053 form, make sure you get it from state.gov website so that it is the most updated one. It should have yellow bands. DS-11 form is PASSPORT Application, you can get it at the post office or passport agency You need consent letter for ALL of them, but for ETC an email will suffice. 2 Likes |

Now you've made my day and save me more hours of investment on research. I can now go on to make my ekuru (white moimoin) and ata dindin (fried stew wt locust beans) my latest craving 1 Like |

legendsmother: • Many healthcare providers are nonprofit (predominant in health and social-assistance) • Because Medicaid is a major funding source for healthcare, nonprofits rely on this funding – but to differing degrees • The percent of health care providers that are nonprofit varies with the services they provide (home care, hospital, skilled nursing care, etc.) So, if you end up with a ridiculously low bill you will know that the tax payers subsidized your health care cost. A path you definitely don't want to thread. If you feel you can't even show the cost breakdown to the VO during interview then that means you know it's a red flag and may cost you down the road. I used Dr Elizabeth baily. She accepted all my test from Nigeria and didn't collect money for my ultrasound which I do weekly from 32 weeks until delivery at 38weeks. I got her when Dr lai rejected me mrsbw: 1 Like |
Re: Give Birth In USA: Cost And Procedures Part 3 by Dentale(f): 6:10pm On Nov 06, 2015 |
Enyinne: Lol why the rejection? I didn't know Houston hospitals were that costly. It's unfair sha to pay high Doctor fees when one is arriving at 35 weeks plus. How many weekly checks can be done before delivery? Similar prices and slightly higher for Florida. One Doctor in Hollywood Florida that I called said it's $5000 for his fees alone, when I told him I'll be arriving at 36weeks he said the best that his office can do is $4500. The hospital fee is $5000. Before u add Anesthesia and Paediatric fees, ure approaching 12K. Then if u need NICU, u don enter one chance! Someone made a comment about expensive accommodation in Miami. No be lie! Imagine even airbnb can be upwards of $3000 monthly, let alone hotels. Its the winter season that's why. A close relative gave birth in Atlanta recently and paid under 7K all inclusive for C-section delivery. Lemme get the breakdown and I'll share 4 Likes |

I have a great contact for accommodation in Atlanta that might be very helpful for you though & you mentioned you're traveling with "mum" so that's accommodation for two ? |
