By the way, an architecture graduate spends 6 good years in the tertiary institution ( go make your research) and to be frank with you, it ain't financially and physically easier to pass through their training.

Feel free to express youself sir. To get to that position ,medical school is officially 6 yrs (8 in my case without extra years)then 1year intense housemanship in which payment is not less than 170k in most places.
Thats 9yrs in most schools in Nigeria or officially 7years..Guy nor be same school una go abeg..

Heck ,with an extra dev job,,nothing less than 400k total monthly.. No need killing oneself for unappreciative folks .I'd rather have sleepless nights on my android studio console than people shouting on my neck.

Medical doctors as corpers cannot be compared to engineers and the others..
A medical doctor has worked for 1yr + and has garnered experience before service and is not a fresh meat.. That's why they don't work under supervision like other corpers.. Most of them man general hospitals unsupervised.
you know that that means? It means they don't work 8-4 like the corpers you hear? It means they treat cases most medical students will not dare.they do full surgeries. Maybe when a doctor charges you 120k for simple appendectomy you'll appreciate these guys.
I swear if they deploy me there, i'll jejely start my private practice then 130k will be chicken change.

You guys are funny! What's the craze about one being a certified medical doctor? Why should their allowance be that much while other professionals earn a meagre 19k or thereabout. Obviously, it seems like you think it's easier to be in other departments. We don't have any money to waste any longer.

It seems you seriously lack understanding! We are talking about NYSC here and not permanent jobs!
Doctor's/pharmacists are already experienced, certified workers before coming for NYSC, while other graduates are just green horns, so why should doctors be paid the same amount with other corper who don't have any experience, are not working in their field because they are teachers and are not even qualified teachers like their Education counterparts? Does it sound fair to you?
Why should you pay a doctor who must dedicate his time to patients the same amount with other corper teachers who are mainly interested in sleeping with his students?

Do you realise that all doctors have dual degrees (bachelor of medicine and bachelor of surgery),they have written 4 professional exams b4 graduation,and at the end of internship have 1 year of experience. If you join the military today,you will be of a lower rank than a doctor even if u graduated 3 years before him.The constitution of every country recognises them,so give unto ceasar what is ceaser's.....and by the way,i think all the other corpers deserve better pay,but when it comes to the experience...they have no comparism.

Nobody should deny another what they duly deserve. 7 years ago as a corps member I was envious of the amount paid to these set of people while the rest of us wia earning peanuts. Looking back now, I see no reason why I should be.
Why collect that as a medical doctor. I rather go to schools and render my services freely.

I did all I could to get excepted rather than serving this nation because of heart breaking incidents like this. I love my job and I have done a lot when it comes to rendering free services but how will somebody whose income has been around 170k monthly cope with a drastic decline to about 34k? Most of them, especially the ones who are not business oriented will end up depleting the savings they made during their housejob.

this goes along way to tell me why medical doctors will always b on strike and poor. most of dem open useless clinics, trading d lives of Nigerians because of money. most of these doctors graduated with no gud result. they chase women and r d most in clubs. they feel secured why in d university dat they even contest for student union leadership. my friend, I read more dan most doctors, when I was an Undergraduate, my lecturers do ask me to teach their sandwich students, set exam for dem, 3unit load courses, yet I wasn't even d best nor did I graduate with First Class. my project after d experiments were sent outside for Characterization, so please tell me where dis ur medical doctors been superior to odas came from. its just wronh mindset .let me reiterate for d umpteenth time, if they feel dey can get millions per month, let dem apply for exemption letter and go and make d millions

It seems some people don't know the doctor patient ratio in Nigeria.

It's very ridiculous in this present situation in Nigeria will a governor slash a professional doctor's salary to N15,000.00. That can't be true story. If na play make im stop am.
