Thanks Slimmy05... So does it mean i should appear at the new school if given admission without even showing up at the old choice? Also, do i need to explain what transpired between me and my first choice school to the new school in a bid to get admitted? Cos someone was telling me that to avoid troble at the point of entry it would be wise if i do a semester in the old school which i dont even want to consider for security reasons. This is my story in brief. I applied for Msc in school A and was given admission , paid sevis fees and got i20 but unfortunately the embassy put my case on administrative processing for over 10 months. Just recently i was granted my visa based on the choice made about 10 months back. However, within this period i have had a change of mind on the school, hence the decision to want to switch while keeping my head abive trouboe waters. Thanks in anticipation. I need urgent explicit answers from my good people please. I applied to Southern University At new Orleans and was admitted but visa delayed. Now my Visa has been issued after several months, however i have changed my mind on choice of school; - Do I need to inform my potential school of the admission / process i already secured with the former school? - If given admission by a new school, do i just resume straight and ignore the former school? Does this has any immigration implication? - Please can anyone help with the list of cheap/affordable universities in Maryland and New york? Thanks all in anticipation. Happy sunday. 2 Likes |

slimmy05:@Slimmy I just saw your post. I am fine. I am taking 15 credits this semester so I have been busy with assignments, quizzes, presentation and test. I rarely have time these days. Anyway my graduation was supposed to be this December but I have decided to wait until May 2016 since I am not yet ready to use my one year OPT so I will be taking classes next semester. Let me know the exact date in December you will be in Charlotte because I intend travelling back to Nigeria this Christmas for my sisters wedding. I am still waiting for my Advance Parole Document to arrive in the mail so I have not made any final plans yet. My final Exam ends on December 12th 2015. If I have my Advance Parole Document at hand by then I will travel by December 18th 2015 and then return on January 8th 2016 before the Spring Semester begins. |

Hello everyone, I'm new to Nairaland. I don't know if my question has been answered before because there r so many pages to sift through...I beg for someone to answer me. I'm confused about something; my brother; US citizen has applied for a masters program for me and he is the sponsor and his name is on my I20 as my sponsor. I want to know if this is going to be ok when I go for my visa interview and not reduce my chances since he's a citizen n they might think after my studies I won't wanna come back n rather stay back with him. Thank u all for your help. |

Hello Nairalanders, I need this wonderful house advice. I was offered an admission by a college in California (Butte College) and the resumption date is January 8th 2016. I've booked an interview for November 30th and I'm very sure I will get the Visa. My question is, if I don't travel before the resumption date on my I-20 Form, will it have any effect on me? Why I'm saying this is because of some financial hiccup militating against my travel. 2ndly, I need someone to help me to pay my SEVIS Fee pls. Please every advice will be highly welcomed. |
