kuthvic:
Bro , there is nothing wrong with running things German chics but plz be adviced, They take time 2 trust.DO YOU HAVE THAT TIME ? U might be very sound academically but if u are distracted from ur studies.....u no d result.
If your parents are loaded then u can spend the way u like .But 4 me n some other guyz when dey leave on budget we got 2 save o .imagine 4 - 6 euro to enter most clubs meanwhile with 10 euro you can feed for a whole week.
if body dey do you one kind look for blacks other serious chics make study mates with...so you do not abardon ur studies while u pursue ur other desires... u no the rest
If na permanent stay u dey find , i think d best way is 2 graduate very very well so u get good job which will give u stay.if u date a very sound chic either of u can get job that will make u both stay back .
If u jam Germo when serious she will not have time 4 u as her studies is most important.if she manage like you she go dey fix appointment for once a month or anytime when she don study her book finish and believe me seminer/presentations dey every now and then. If u jam the one when no like book she will pull u 2 every party in town . And i do not know about other cities but in my city there is party every week almost like 3 or more different once a week. Mind u once u go party , your next day is ruined as sleep go dey worry u 4 class- who no go class go better pass u .
And talking about stay....do u think u will be a liability after graduating ?if ur result is hot u can apply for denmark green card scheme, u can apply for skilled immigration to australia, new zealand, canada, estonia 2 mention but a few. so if u must have romance have it because u really want 2 love not because u dey find stay.u world is looking 4 professionals and German Graduates are respected worldwide. Nice points. So Denmark sef get green card? Didn't know before oh.. Party full this place sha... But if person no use him head him go fail. 1 Like |

Bros chill...all these "workin 2 jobs" u don see their results? If person make bad result here e don finish o...baba dem nor dey see my mama know am na make dem gv me job o...
To get 1.0 (A+) na 95% ie 58/60 or 95/100
1.3 (A)abt 90% 90/100
1.7 -2.3(1.7-2.0=B, 2.3 =C) abt 80-90%
3.3 - 2.7 65%-80%
3.7- 4.0 50-65%
The pass mark in most uni is abt 50% ...50% for naija na C ..the person don dey form big boy abi. And A is 70% right?
No disrespect but nor be everybody when register as student be student some re here to work within that 2yrs and enjoy tax cuts as students(very common) and after they spend 3yrs in one uni they switch and continue from another uni.
Baba i will nt advise any new student to pick up a job during his/her first semester( my opinion). U need time to understand the system and then plan how to combine work and study...
If u ve a good grade in ur first semester ....u can apply for grants or look for jobs as Hiwi (student/research assistant)...it is nt that simple but it is possible...
And if u graduate with a good grade ...learn the language( even if nt as fluent as native speaker just show some commitment)..u can always find something to do and no one can take advantage of u cos their isa minimum amount u can earn with your degree. And if u dont wanna stay here with ur good grade u can find something elsewhere....
Intelligent or dull..u need time to understand these concepts as often at times they re new ..no thanks to our education system..at the end of the semester u may ve up to 300 slides with additional materials to study...
One lecture = ca. 20 slides One semester =14 appointments with exercise if applicable.
One slide is abt 2 pages in textbook
in Nigeria u can go to club tonight and come write exam the next day (20 page course) and if u dont know u spy...but when u enter Hörsaal ( big lecture hall) and they tell u 3 per role( abt 3 free seats) and leave the next role empty....and duration 2hrs( u fit use 15mins dey read fhe question there)...Charlie body go tell u walahi. Or na oral exam...u open the door come meet 2 ot 4 profs all line question down...anxiety fit make u yarn trash sef...
to even write 2 exam one week na unwritten taboo.
I ve never written 2 exams in one week...the dept knows that these courses re bulky hence they ve at least a week interval btwn each exam and like uncle Futurewise talk if u fail 3 times u can never study that course again in Germany...if u even fail once the pressure is already on you
Baba make una leave club now and face book o... the thing dey hard the first semester but later come easy and if u miss am now baba forget am...e don go be that.
And to the other applicants this post is nt supposed to frighten u guys but sometimes we ve to say it the way it is ....prepare urself abeg and una when just land ...una don dey see am already..
It is doable...Hardwork Pays!.
All the best pple. Chei.. My oga has spoken!!! Azzin the importance of getting a good CGPA first semester cannot be overemphasized. So many have said it, many keep saying it. That's the only reason keeping me from looking for a job now sef. Another thing to note is that many of these Profs know stuff but them no sabi lecture. I will drop a good tip: record your lectures. It's illegal though, but it surely helps. Again visit YouTube if you're lost. I have learnt a lot from YouTube. And although I was once discouraged, because of my background, I no longer am... A lot of students in my class don't know what the professor teaches in class. Initially I think say na me dull... Later I find out say na all of us dey same level.. Also past questions, try to find them, some lecturers dey repeat past questions die as I was told.. Anyways I don't believe I have posted all these comments here today... Need to get busy. If you want flex, flex... What is important is know yourself according to Socrates and TIME MMANAGEMEN. Two very important ingredients of success. Alles Gute. Tschüß! 6 Likes |

Noted. But it was my school that suggested it. I don't even know about it until my school emailed me and mentioned it. I don't think they would have suggested it if the Auslander won't accept it. Anyways, it's what I'll use....There's no harm in trying, especially if it's going to save me a lot of money. AOK Insurance is now 61 Euros monthly (732Euros in a year) while Care-Concept is 28Euros (312Euros in a year). That’s a difference of 420Euros that can cover a lot of other things during my study. If the Auslander rejects it, I believe they should tell me the reason why…..if they don’t, I’ll ask them politely and I believe I’ll get clarifications. These are two different companies offering the same services - student health insurance. One is considerably cheaper than the other, a student should have the choice to pick which one…. and if the Auslander rejects a student’s choice, then they should state the reason why. They can’t just turn me down and send me out of the door because I refuse to buy my health insurance from AOK. These companies usually have a kind of pact with the embassy, consulates, Auslander etc. Little wonder why most, if not all, of us opened our blocked accounts with Deutsche Bank….DB is not the only bank you can open your blocked accounts with… But it is the bank being touted by the embassies and most of their websites has the DB weblink directing you to their website….Why? Thanks bro. I go try my Care-Concept and if they no gree I go use the one wey dem talk. I no get option. But that will mean that the system is coercing me into contracting with a very expensive company when I can get the same product at a relatively cheaper rate from another company. Which is so unfair….Which is so unjust…….And which can be corrected……If we all make our positions known to the relevant authorities. After all, we are students and the system shouldn't be seen to be exploiting us.. Good morning. ( Eke40seven: You think say we no know care concept tay tay...care concept is just like IGI, your auslander no go accept am... Hampy, dont be offended, You have been on this forum for long but I am highly disappointed in you with the way you hammering on this Care-Concept like a NEWBEE, you wey naija wahala and polluted air done deal with, want to compare to compare your self with oyinbo wey dey get health insurance from pikin and never get fever for his life. I thinking it is an opportunity to get better health services than saving money. Oyinbo wise pass you they will never give the same services to the person that pays 61 euros and the person that pays 28 euros. Thank God Nevilbot has explained everything, please have a rethink . nevilbot: Some weeks back my very good friend prophet eke(rtd) which u all know as eke40seven invited me 2 com give my german experience account and even though i took so long to ansa, here i am. i just hope u guys bear with me cus its not that i forgot abt here. i read posts daily just bin busy with stuffs. you guys coming to germany this winter will soon understand.
back to the issues at hand, b4 i ansa eke's questions, i need to drop some infos, 2 specifically
1) a lot of people av contacted me about the job link i posted some months back. some even started bothering me about it even though they are yet to be in germany. well sorry to inform you that nigerian students can no longer av access to the job. this is because u need a document called gewerbeischien (business license) for the job. the german govt in its infinite wisdom however deems it fit that non-eu students can not av dat document cus with that document, u can be self employed and run your own bizness in germany. so plz stop sending me msgs abt the job again. And to some who contacted me asking me how they will get to germany to come and work, plz i am not a travel or job agent. the only way i know that can bring u to germany is thru study. thanks
2)the second issue i will like to address is the issue of student health insurance specifically for any student that will be above 30 years on ur arrival in germany (even if u are one seconds above 30 years on ur arrival, u fall into this category). It is a known fact that students over 30 yrs cant take the public health insurance any longer so the option left is the private for which we all run to mawista bcus it has one of the cheapest premium monthly. if you are the type of student that rarely goes to a hospital and u do not av medical issues that warrants u to see doctors frequently, yes mawista is good for u. just pay ur premiums and enjoy ur life. but if you are the type that av reasons to visit hospitals frequently, or u will need a surgery or u want to feel safe about ursef, plz and plz, do not (and i repeat) do not use mawista. my reason being that mawista will never pay 100% of ur hospital bills wen it really matters. they might pay for the small small hospital checkups but wen it comes to real bills like surgery and long term hospitalization, they will pay some % based on ur contract yle u bear the rest. i know students presently who are in debts running into 3000euros cus mawista did not pay their total fees wen they had real medical issues.
the best health insurance company to sign up with if u are above 30 is the one that came out of an agreement btw the deutsche studentenwerk (German national student union) and hanse merkur. it is meant purely for international students above 30 yrs. just sign up for their optimum tariff plan wia u pay a monthly premium of 78 euros and u are 100% covered should you need any form of hospitalization or treatment. this is the link to their page. https://portal.versicherungsdienste.de/dsw-studenten-kv/index.en.html they even pay your burial/repatriation of remains cost should u die in germany up to 10,000 euros (this will not be anyone's portion though). information they say is power, plz assist ursef and do not fall into unnecessary debt yle u are still thinking on how to manage block act. mawista is a not the best public health insurance u can get as a student any other question, i will be pleased to ansa. thanks and God bless our hustles |

Oh no bro, I’m not offended! Not at all. I’m only surprised that you’re disappointed. After all, It’s my choice, not yours….so there’s absolutely nothing to be disappointed about. And I’m not forcing anybody on here to follow suit. My school suggested Care-Concept, I looked it up, I feel good about it and I’m going to use it. As a matter of fact, I have even applied and I have my certificates already. Sorry to disappoint you. As far as I’m concerned, saving money is much more important to me in this situation. I no get insurance for naija and I no die...I hardly get sick, thank God for that. Even the money I’ll be paying to Care-Concept for their health insurance package will never be needed by me at anytime for any reason by the special grace of God. As for the quote from Nevilbot….. I don’t see how that applies here…..But thanks anyway. Best wishes. lamingo: Hampy, dont be offended, You have been on this forum for long but I am highly disappointed in you with the way you hammering on this Care-Concept like a NEWBEE, you wey naija wahala and polluted air done deal with, want to compare to compare your self with oyinbo wey dey get health insurance from pikin and never get fever for his life. Hasty generalization is one the biggest problem we have as Nigerians and Africans. Different Strokes for different folks they say. You know 1 or 2 peeps having difficulty in getting jobs in Germany, suddenly there is no job in Germany? Because a professor told you something, it suddenly became general?
What you read online about Germany in need of "skilled workers" is very true but misinterpreted by many. Germany's economy and population is fine as it is But th e population is not growing as fast as the economy and studies have shown that Germans are not ready to increase child birth thus, the economy will become unsustainable in 20 years time if something is not done along the way. Germany need is not an "immediate" one rather a gradual, steady and systematic one. The high rate of refugee acceptance is a testimony to this.
Many things have been said about school ratings but I will like to share one of the conclusions from the wealth of Heterodox Economist latest research about inequality and standard of living: comparing Germany and US "one of the main Reasons why inequality is lower and standard of living is higher in Germany is that it does not matter which university you send your child to because Education in Germany is publicly financed while you have to buy it with private funds in the US to send your child to the best. Middle and low income earners in Germany do not have to compete with the high income earners to give their children quality education and have social mobility". As far as I know what is important in this part of the world is your grade at the end of the day, whether in uni or unioas, always strife to be the best.
Working and studying it's all about knowing yourself and time management. Working doesn't mean you be the worst in your class and not working doesn't mean you will be the best in your class. I worked during my 1st semester and am still an above average student in my class meanwhile I have other Nigerian students in my class who said they want to concentrate and settle down in there 1st semester 1st and end up failing 1 or 2 courses. €8040 is a lot of money but check your account balance after your 1st 6 months that will tell you your next line of action. As for people like me who no get anyone to send dem dine naija, working and studying is not easy but possible. Know yourself, settle in fast and manage your time well.
Blonde or black girls... hmmmm it's a big one. I will say it also depends on what you want but from my part of the country na Cameroonians full here and they will never ever follow you, na white wey go give dem paper den de find up and down. Also, most black girls will never split the bills with you on a date, abeg you won de spend ur block money on babe and u no de work? Bro, thanks for you advice. I really appreciate it. But just try and look it up - www.care-concept.de. We shouldn’t just take everything we read on this thread as being as it is. We should try and do our own individual research and make up our own minds. If everybody on here has been using AOK, that one no mean say Hampy go use AOK. As long as AOK is not compulsory, then I’m not using it. Except say na by fire by force. AOK is just too expensive. Care-Concept is much more affordable. And as for the benefits - I’m perfectly okay with the benefits provided by Care-Concept - the insurer is HanseMerkur, I’ll get inpatient, outpatient and dental treatment, medically prescribed medications, pregnancy examination (for the babes wey go get belle…lol), and all you have to pay is just 50Euros deductible aside your monthly premium, accident related medical treatment of up to 250Euros, repatriation and burial cost of up to 10kEuros and a lot more. I no fit shout….look it up. jerikoyan: Bro i wont advice you take Care-Concept oooo if it is private insurance, i know of someone who just got little ileness and had cause to visit the hospital,he was using a private insurance, spent just one night there ooo, nah so hospital dey call am to come and pay or forward the bill to his insurance when we go the hospital nah so i begin laugh for hospital loudly a swooping 600+ Euro for just one night if the illness dont know if his private insurance will pay for it on time and the hospital will keep calling him, had it been its a public insurance now like AOK no need to worry,

Yea bro...Wat do u need to know? Whao! It's nice having you around, bro.I have a lot enquries to make concerning the course (Mechatronics), the School itself, City of Siegen(presence of industrial firm, general cost of living as compared to other cities, how busy it is in terms of commercial activities, etc), availability of part-time jobs for students, among others. I have made a good deal of research online about the school and my intended course from daad.de and some other sites but I believe that having a firsthand information from someone who is there already will not be a bad idea.If you wouldn't mind, I shall be getting in touch with you, when necessary, to get needed information as regards the application process. |
