Thats one of the downside. It takes a frustrating 5 hours to charge with its own charger. One of the Chinese marketers on this forum lied that it takes 2 hours to charge.

it charges fast, but I don't operate the device while charging. 0-100% is between 2-3 hrs or 4 hrs Max. Haven't used infinix, so can't compare both

sorry sir, I'm not some sort of promoter for Gionee, but I think the max is 4hrs. Perhaps you were using the phone while it was charging, hence putting more pressure on the battery. But at 5hrs too, it's not that bad, haba bruh! hope you know it will take 20hrs+ (won't say 24 hrs, don't wanna exaggerate) of intense use to completely drain the battery. I watched movies online, downloaded apps, played games too with my battery percentage from 84-66%. I was pleasantly amazed! C'mon bruh, c'mon! Some phones will take like forever to charge and frustratingly drain within hours.

Haba, which kind flawless victory be this? Mine uses 3hrs max without using it while charging. You have short circuit your battery that's why it took that long to charge. You will observe it stays on a particular % before it increases. Remove Your battery, plug the charger in like that without the battery in it. Then remove the charger and put in your battery back. And continue charging. It will charge normal and fast..
Re: Gionee M3mini Discussion Thread [HOT] by ogasman(m): 7:01pm On Nov 10, 2015
Who says it takes time to charge..
Charged mine from 4:30 to 6:58 now my percentage is at 94percent now......
Atleast 2-3 hours max...
Will soon get to 100 percent...

Then will post d lasting nature then

My bros, I hate exergeration deeply. I applaud the battery life of this phone and I'm using it to type now. On a heavy use of the type you described this phone battery can never never last more than 14 hours max. Thats if it even exceeds 12 hours. I can bet money if it can last up to 20 hours.

5 hours to charge a phone for me is very very very very frustrating. I also hate the fact that the Chinese marketer lied that it takes 2 hours to charge full. At least 2 people have confirmed with me that it takes far above that.

In all I still like the phone and the best for me being the system manager in built on the phone with auto start freeze, process white list and network data connection disable option for each app.

Another regret I have is that it hangs sometimes and closes my browser atimes in multitasking flaw.

All in all l enjoy the phone despite the few shortfalls. We can't expect perfection from a 16k phone.

Truthfully.... this device takes way too long to get charged. When I bought it newly(yesterday) it took 3:15hrs exactly to get filled from 51%(phone was switched off)

but later today, it took abt an hour to get filled from 61% while switched on

I'd say the charge cycle is long but y'all shouldn't be expecting a 4000mah battery to get filled the same time as a 2200mah

What I love most is that, when its full, its hard to drain, something my former F5 was good at(draining fast!)

BTW.... how come no one is talking about the fact that this device NEVER GETS HOT

What does "short circuit" phone battery mean? I've never heard that term before since ever using mobile phone.

Please enlighten us more cos its extremely important.

Also how do you rectify this type of problem on a phone with non removable battery?

Thanks in advance for your help.

Lolz, well, it's still new. I experienced same shit you experienced when you charged and I still say, it takes just 3hrs max to charge full from 0-100%. The first usage, I charged for 5hrs, but I discovered I short circuit the battery which was why it took so long to get charged. But when I removed the battery, plug the phone without battery, return it back. It fixed the charging issue and since then, it only take me 3hrs max to get my phone filled.

If a battery is shorted, the battery will be discharged
very quickly and will heat up due to the high current flow.
Short circuits can produce very high temperatures due to the
high power dissipation in the circuit. It also has effect on the charging rate of the battery. How does this happen, it always happen when your charger always shake while in power source, it happens most often when you use the phone while charging, though this is mostly not noticed until you discover the charging isn't moving at all.

When it happened to mine, I was on 60% for more than 45mins. Not until I removed the battery, returned it back and discovered it has even reached 100%. Sometimes, over charging causes it too.

About non removable battery, if your phone has reset button, just tap it. It will fix it

Very enlightening info. You deserve accolades. I just hope it works exactly as you have described.

We need people like you around on this forum.

Maybe you should open a thread on this and enlighten people the more on phone battery matters.

Thanks a great deal.

You see, always quick to debunk someone's claim when you've not tried it. You got a good review from a user and you thought he lied. He is right. It doesn't get HOT. others apart from me can also attest to this. And yes!!! On 3G.. Have you forgotten the chipset isn't 6582
