Who is that comparing nigeria to ghana. Where were you when Okonjo iweala gave a shocking lecture @ Babcock's convocation ceremony. She said on per capita basis; Bayelsa- $545 per anum Akwa ibom - $360 per annum Delta - $270 per annum Ghana - $255 per annum Benin republic -$146 per anum Liberia- $103 per anum Gambia - $117 per annum As you can see, some states even performed better than Ghana. And these nigeria states is based on only ALLOCATION ooooo, Their Internal Generated Revenue wasn't even calculated. The distribution of wealth is killing us in 9ja. Our state Governors haff killed us!!! |

Rossikk: I agree out leaders are thieves and they should be performing better. I don't know why you are using population as an excuse. What would you say if your population reach that of Brazil, China, Japan, India or us. Aren't all these countries much developed than countries with far less population. Stop using your pop as an excuse, you are embarrassing yourself and giving a pass to the leaders. 1 Like |

The Top 10 Most Liveable Cities in Africa 1. CAPE TOWN, SOUTH AFRICA Cape Town is one of the most beautiful cities in the world, let alone Africa, having already won a number of prestigious international travel awards. 2. ACCRA, GHANA In addition to being a wonderful urban home for roughly 20 percent of Ghana’s 20 million total population, Accra has become the leisure destination of choice for upscale Nigerians who take a quick 45-minute flight to spend time at their Accra weekend homes 3. NAIROBI, KENYA Nairobi is fast becoming the African city of choice for multinational companies seeking a foothold for their African operations. Nairobi is a gracious city that possesses much of the sophistication of the large South African cities, but provides these offerings in a “kinder and gentler” way 4. JOHANNESBURG, SOUTH AFRICA From the moment you step off the plane at OR Tambo International Airport (ORTIA), it becomes clear why Johannesburg is considered a world-class city. ORTIA rivals some of the best airports in developed worlds. It’s sleek, modern, expansive and offers a wealth of stores and restaurants, much like many parts of South Africa’s and Africa’s economic capital. 5. GABORONE, BOTSWANA Though young—having only gained independence from Britain in the 1960s—Gaborone has flourished. Politically stable and economically buoyant, Botswana’s capital is considered to be a peaceful city. It’s likely partly due to it being small in size, with a population of just over 230,000, but still offers a diverse mix of people, and places to see. Gabs, as it is popularly known, is located in a country known for being one of the world’s largest producers of rough diamonds. 6. LIBREVILLE, GABON Modern and vibrant, the country’s largest city is home to just over half a million people. They’re young (nationally, half are 19 and younger) and urbanized. School enrollment rate in Gabon is over 70 percent and literacy is close to 90 percent. In Libreville, it’s over 63 percent, which translates into a most capable service staff in restaurants, hotels, and shops. The French influence extends beyond being the official language, providing for a very stylish city that boasts a grand boulevard with beautiful architecture and monuments. 7. TUNIS, TUNISIA A lot has changed here since the Arab Spring unrest started nearly two years ago. While unemployment remains a concern and the new government still works toward stabilizing the economy, the smallest country in North Africa is becoming one of the fastest developing. The first half of this year, saw a GDP growth rate of 3.5 percent, with a steady increase in the manufacturing sector. French territory for over seven decades, there’s a rich diversity in the culture here—African, Arab and European. 8. DAR ES SALAAM, TANZANIA Dar es Salaam is a rapidly growing city, from the new infrastructural projects to its people, literally. With an annual population increase of over three percent each year, it’s the third fastest growing city in Africa—and one of the fastest in the world! It also has a large expatriate community 9. WINDHOEK, NAMIBIA From the language to the distinct architecture, the German influence on Windhoek is evident—a lasting reminder of Namibia’s early colonial history. Don’t expect big city living; the most recent count puts total population just over 320,000. The small but active city is home to just about every national government institution, making it the country’s political, cultural, social, and economic capital 10. KIGALI, RWANDA From the expansion of its Central Business District to the recent road construction project to help ease traffic congestion, Rwanda’s capital is slowly becoming one of the most rapidly developing cities on the continent. Centrally located in the heart of Rwanda, Kigali is home to close to one million people, and there’s also a large community of expats here who get to enjoy the diversity the city has to offer. http://www.africa.com/blog/the_top_10_most_liveable_cities_in_africa/ Now can anybody tell me one NIGERIA city here...your so called GIANT OF AFRICA 2 Likes |

FKBZ: How far bro's? I beg to disagree. Nigeria is terrible. Even if i had a billion dollars, i could never live in that country ever again. Money is not everything ooooo. What is most important to me is the mentality of the people i surround myself with, the security of the place i'm in, and the amenities afforded me. I went to the Nigerian embassy in berlin last week and i was shocked at the way Nigerians were doing business there. When in rome at least act like romans, but no. Nigerians were acting like Nigerians. Shameful. Doing business with cash, selling food inside an embassy, talking to patrons like they were slaves. I have been to many embassies and i have never seen what i saw that day. The Mentality of a nation's populace means a lot. And on the subject of taxation; bro's, na because you no de used to am. It is not bad at all. There are only advantages and zero disadvantage if applied properly. Taxation discourages corruption, helps a country with a solid and accurate database, helps with development, etc. Nigeria no be am at all. 2 Likes |
Re: Common Lies Nigerians Tell Themselves About Nigeria. by Rossikk(m): 8:42pm On Nov 10, 2015 |
JiggamanGh: But Nigeria is more developed than Ghana. So what are you talking about? We have more roads, more airports, more functional seaports, more universities, more cities, more expressways, more industries, more factories, far larger IT and automative sectors, more rich people, a much larger middle class than Ghana's. A middle class that is at least 3 times the entire Ghanaian population. A much larger GDP (both per capita and gross). https://www.google.co.uk/#q=ghana+gdp So what are you talking about? |

bros l lived in Accra and OSu for two years and i stay in lagos now...i am a nigeria...yes Nigeria might bre more huge but Ghana is more infrastructrally developed than Nigeria ...and there is more sanity than Nigeria Rossikk: |
Re: Common Lies Nigerians Tell Themselves About Nigeria. by Rossikk(m): 8:55pm On Nov 10, 2015 |
tonychristopher: What do you mean by ''infrastructurally more developed''? They barely have TWO cities there!!! Even those two cities - Accra and Kumasi, are mediocre by African standards. I mean, this is ridiculous. Their rural areas are LESS developed than Nigerian rural areas. Leave those two cities and it's mud huts and footpaths galore. Abegi.. You guys go to Ghana and stay in Accra and come back with ''Ghana is better than Nigeria!!!'' Someone can equally come to Abuja and stay a year, and return to his country, singing Nigeria's praises to high heavens - ''Nigeria is better than paradise!!!''. |

Truth can be so bitter that's why majority of Nigerians shy away from it and live in their fantasy world. Even countries that are making giant strides and developing on all fronts are not making noise about being great..smh. Sometimes I think God created this country to serve a big comic relief from the boredom of the rest of the world. 2 Likes |

Was having a discussion with a mentor about his biz foreign deals and he quipped that US should lower their intl rules like the Chinese in order to favor Naija.. He's an oil and guy.. I asked him if he knew trade volume btw Naija and US, he tactfully avoided the question but kept insisting that Naija oil and players spend so much on US.. I now reminded him that CAT annual sales of $55bn are 3 times Naija budget.. Exxonmobil annual sales are 2 times Naija budget.. Mind u this guy has an MBA and well travelled, but he argues like an idiot.. Why cos most Nigerians have believed the lies we have repeatedly told ourselves. Also, we are intellectually lazy to think and double check facts!! |
