CrazyMan:I wrote a similar article some months back. My only fear is that since after the Civil war, there has not been a genuine effort from the Federal government to assist in the development of the East. I don't see the changing now. But, truth be told, our politicians have failed us. |

Fantastic writeup. Makes a whole lot of sense. They want Biafra yet they cannot hold their own leaders accountable for the underdevelopment of the SE 4 Likes |

Etogist: And you fool, why did you vote for TA Orji and keep him in office for 8 years? Or where were you when Elechi was governor for 8 years and left Ebonyi state in ruins? He could not even fix the road from Abakaliki to Abuomege junction in EIGHT F***KING YEARS! Yet you expect such governors to rule you in your Biafra and you think you will get a better deal. All the SE states will collapse without Federal allocation. And you expect to make progress when you create your landlocked Biafra republic? Such fools we have all over the place.... 8 Likes |

The truth is that when compared with their counterparts from other parts of the country, Southeast leaders have not performed badly. Also when one compares individual successes by zone Southeast also come tops. The major problem facing the Southeast is lack of federal presence. What I expected Igbos to have done under Jonathan was demand for federal presence and not appointments. I equally expected Igbos to have met with Buhari prior to elections and demand federal infrastructure in the Southeast. Igbos have not enjoyed the advantage of proximity to good infrastructure and it is impossible to develop these level of infrastructure with our meagre resources. 3 Likes |

CSTR2:The problem is not much deeper like you said. The solution to Nigeria problem is bad leadership and not resources control. What have the governors done with the billion of dollars that they have received from the federal government. Why must our governors have to wait from monthly allocations from the federal government before paying salaries and building project? Nigeria constitution is similar to that of the US and all the states in Nigeria have the right to generate internal revenue for their states. How much money have the Eastern states generated for their states and the country. SE don't generate much money and you are the first to shout that SE received less allocation in all the region. 1 Like |

melzabull: Gej threw the door open for a national convention last year, why were these issues not addressed in the convention? You think what you couldn't achieve in a round table will be achieved by force? Who is marginalizing you? Are south east states governed by the Hausa/Fulani? Were Igbo's not holding lucrative ministerial positions such as finance, labor and productivity, health, aviation and power in the last dispensation? How many roads did the south east governors build? How many meaningful projects did they complete? You are here crying marginalization while our governors are busy looting us dry, the same set of governors that will grab power when ur fight for Biafra becomes successful. Abeggii 2 Likes |

MaziOmenuko: smh... 1)You accused of deciding for them and also went ahead to decide for them...Ever taken time to see how the protest is being championed by those States you listed? including Bayelsa?...Ask anybody that visited baysela within last week 2)Economy of Biafra isn't dependent solely on oil(which we have in Anambra, Imo, Abia etc)...because we have other mineral resources in abundance eg Granite, coal etc... coupled with entrepreneurial, and commercial ingenuity of Igbo as shown in Aba, Onitsha, etc or technological prowess of Nnewi etc...or agricultural product of Ebonyi, Anambra etc... You need lots of growing up to do boy!!!...life isn't about oil alone...Nigeria is not better than Switzerland that has no oil... 3 Likes |

Abagworo: Are you aware that state governments that complete federal projects in their states get refunds from the FG? If all the south east governors put their resources together to build all the federal roads at the south east, they would have gotten a refund from the fg, but no, we get the monthly allocation and pocket it. Do you know that south east states get the biggest chunk of the ecological fund? How many of them have successfulky utilized the fund to check corrosion in the south east? Why did all the governors keep quite about the Onitsha sea port and they kept shouting about 2nd Niger bridge as if the bridge would have more economic importance than the sea port? Our problem us our governors, not the presidency! 1 Like |

obailala: Don't make me laugh. Igbos have been fighting to get out of Nigeria back when it was still a protectorate in the 'Ekumeku war'. We also fought the Biafran war. On both occasions, we gave a good account of our selves but we were outgunned. Igbos are part of Nigeria not out choice but out of 'enforcement'. The bad Governance in Nigeria is out of the inability of Nigeria to work as a nation. Sometimes in life, there are things that cannot work despite the best of intentions. Nigeria is fundamentally flawed, it will never work. The Hausa/Yoruba/Igbo man are as different as day and night and all 3 don't even like each other so where is this miracle you are hoping for going to come from? In Biafra, if my fellow Igbo steals public money, I know where to go and get him. In Biafra, there is no where to hide. Nigeria is a failed British experiment and it is time to divide it into smaller manageable units for effective Governance and one of those units is Biafra. |

Whynotthetruth: Lol...read the paragraph I quoted from your post again, you were the one agitating for oil that is not inside your Biafra states. Now you are changing the goal post after being called out. You are the one that needs growing up because you evidently haven't read up on the Biafra war and how the oil rich states you are currently hoping on abandoned your Biafra struggle when the chicken came home to roost. For your info, it is still the Igbos at PH that are disturbing the peace of that state with silly street march. Stop decievibg yourself. What we elders see while lying down, you kids will not see even if u climb an iroko. 3 Likes 1 Share |
