What lesson is this story supposed to impress upon young minds? Judges 19 While they were enjoying themselves, some of the wicked men of the city surrounded the house. Pounding on the door, they shouted to the old man who owned the house, “Bring out the man who came to your house so we can have sex with him.” 23 The owner of the house went outside and said to them, “No, my friends, don’t be so vile. Since this man is my guest, don’t do this outrageous thing. 24 Look, here is my virgin daughter, and his concubine. I will bring them out to you now, and you can use them and do to them whatever you wish. But as for this man, don’t do such an outrageous thing.” 25 But the men would not listen to him. So the man took his concubine and sent her outside to them, and they raped her and abused her throughout the night, and at dawn they let her go. 26 At daybreak the woman went back to the house where her master was staying, fell down at the door and lay there until daylight. 27 When her master got up in the morning and opened the door of the house and stepped out to continue on his way, there lay his concubine, fallen in the doorway of the house, with her hands on the threshold. 28 He said to her, “Get up; let’s go.” But there was no answer. Then the man put her on his donkey and set out for home. 29 When he reached home, he took a knife and cut up his concubine, limb by limb, into twelve parts and sent them into all the areas of Israel. 5 Likes |

sonOfLucifer you misinterpret the verse, the woman pay for here sin she committed in verse two. God is love ,just because God is love doesent mean God will ignored sins. God love required justice, everyone will pay for the sin they commit. 1 Like |

OKUCHI11: Let me try. When man created "God", the need to create "Satan" also arose. Without satan, god would be useless as satan just so happens to be the fall guy for god's incompetence. Ever since man created god we created an excuse for our folly and selfish desires. Many evils prepetrated by man have been said to be either "god's will", in a bid to justify it, or "the work of the devil" in a bid place blame on an imaginary entity instead of taking responsibility for one's mistake. There are many examples in the bible where the Israelites(also known as god's children) carried out series of murders, rape, theft etc on their enemies all in the name of being "directed by god". This barbarism continued during the crusades, during slavery when Europeans came to Africa to pick slaves and bind them in the most savage and inhumane manner while they sang songs of praises to their god at the top deck. In recent times, muslim extremists have committed similar atrocities all in "the name of allah". We have seen cases of bombings, acts of terrorism, women enslavement, the selling of women and kids as young as 3 years old off as sex slaves to be used and passed around like pieces of fried meat strictly for pleasure, the killing of other humans who do not share the same beliefs etc all in "the name of Allah" In the bible, Abraham claimed "god told him" to kill Isaac and even though Isaac didn't end up dying in the hands of his father, Abraham took his time to sharpen his cutlass, call out to Isaac to prepare their things and climb up to the mountain. Now, many people(Christians and Muslims alike) will say that Abraham was "obedient" and a true servant of "the lord" or of "allah" and this barbaric act is seen as an example of obedience towards god. Now, imagine, what if your neighbour, your wife or your husband was to one day wake up and tell you that "god told him or her" to kill their kid or your kid, will you applaud him for obeying "the heavenly father" or give him a good slap with the aim of helping him regain his senses? Without "God" (please understand that the word "god" as used here refers to all concepts of a supreme being and not directed at any specific religion and I have only used the above illustrations because we live in a society where the "god" concept is either christian or muslim) everyone would take responsibility for their actions. If you decide to murder someone it won't be because the devil pushed you into doing it or because the action for which you killed the person (in the case of theft of gayism which are the two top reasons for lynching people in this country) is against "god's" will but rather because of your own selfish reasons. This also applies to being good. The ideology that doing good pleases "the lord" or "allah" will be replaced with the ideology that "doing good is just good" and everyone deserves a hug, some spare change, a meal, a roof over their heads or just someone to talk to. I hope this sums it up for you 10 Likes 4 Shares |

Both the bible and the Quran are relics of a barbaric past that has an unfortunate hold on 21st century beings. It is from such books that Children are encouraged to pray and fast for economic development instead of working for it by employing basic economic tactics of the society. Such books introduce them to a stark world view filled with abject violence, misogyny, chronic savagery, barbarism and introduce in them psychological fear of abstract concepts like satans and demons. Such superstitious hunk of ancient eloquent poetry is quite dangerous to the intellectual development of 21st century beings because the only way to murder the intellectual evolution of our specie is to indoctrinate in them unsubstantiated beliefs of the past. I do not support introduction of young minds to such books such as Bible, Quran or even Hindu Veda. The little ones know nothing or understand things hatred, misogyny, discrimination or violent unjust capital punishments filled in these books neither are they up to the age of separating what they find to be implausible to what they find not to be... What we teach them is what they take. This is the reason many adults still believe a donkey talked to a man and he didn't find it unusual that a donkey talked and ran the hell out of there, or that an arab man split the moon. . . this is because they were indoctrinated and introduced to these books at a very young age. Such books is the reason why some think something that allegedly was big enough to create the universe, billions of galaxies, trillions of planets and uncountable stars came to a tiny insignificant planet in the orions arm of the milky way and indulged into a childish show of fighting with humans and trying to show off to a pharaoh and needs humans to worship it or it burns them.. These books like Medicines should be kept out of the reach of Children until they are up to age of reasoning for themselves and sound volitive ability. But on another note i still recommend these books can be enjoyed as a piece of ancient antiquity and eloquent depiction of noble ancient world views just like Epic of Gilgamesh, Enuma- Elis, Maat, Codes of Uruk and many other eloquent ancient works of art.. 15 Likes 8 Shares |

sonOfLucifer:read the whole context. @ all atheists, any accusations you guys label against religion, the same can be said of atheism, atheists are the worst. In Darwin’s time there was an idea among the nobility that their genetics were superior to those of the rest of society. Many families including Darwin’s took this belief to extreme levels by practicing incest as a tradition. They thought that if adolescents were to marry within their own family then not only would all the wealth stay in the family, but the “good” genes would also. This also ensured that the family fortunes would be retained for many future generations. This practice is very common in aristocratic families, which explains why they are all extremely mentally unstable. Darwin came from a very classist and racist elite level of society and that is reflected in his work, especially “The Descent of Man”. One of the most famous cases of royal incest is found in the Hapsburg dynasty that produced rulers in Spain, Austria, Hungary, Belgium, the Netherlands and the German empire. Around 1700 the Spanish branch of this empire fell apart suddenly and died off. Recent studies of the Hapsburg Family Tree show that sickness and deformity due to incest was responsible for the sudden demise of this “royal bloodline”. The most successful political dynasty in America, the Bush family is notorious for inbreeding. In fact, George Bush Sr. and his wife Barbara Bush are actually in the same bloodline, which is the Pierce or Percy bloodline. The British house of this bloodline is named Percy and the American house is named Pierce. The elite’s family structures are very complicated with many “houses” and surnames that are omitted from the public dialogue to avoid scrutiny and cover up their ongoing eugenics experiments. I am only singling out the Bush family because it’s an example that those of you in the west will recognize, but in countries all over the world, in every continent there are elitists and monarchs who hold this world view. The ruling class of every nation is obsessed with breeding and is using the best of our advanced technology and medical science to guarantee that their heirs will be somehow thoroughbred. Since the aristocracy has been practicing selective breeding for centuries they are under the impression that they are already of a superior stock to the rest of humanity, thanks to the “care” that their ancestors took in breeding. This is of course just an egotistical delusion that justifies their exploitative treatment towards the rest of humanity. Darwin’s other dehumanizing ideology is his “survival of the fittest” mantra. Darwin didn’t just come up with this philosophy out of thin air, this was actually an idea that has been traditionally held by families of nobility since before the Middle Ages. It was this philosophy that the aristocracy used to justify their inhumane treatment of the serfs and peons that built their empires and tended to their fields. The saying “survival of the fittest” was actually coined by an aristocrat named Thomas Robert Malthus who was openly brutal and inhumane in his descriptions of the poor or as he called them “the lower races”. In a 1798 publication called “An Essay on the Principle of Population” Malthus suggested that planned food shortages could be used to decrease the population of the poor through starvation. This was the root for the idea of “population control”, because a large population is very difficult for the elite to manage while retaining their own wealth and power. Malthus suggested that the streets should be made narrower and more people should be crowded into living quarters to encourage conditions that would bring back the plague. In that same essay he said that villages should be built next to stagnant pools where germs could fester and all remedies and cures would only be available to those who could afford it. In his own words “we are bound in justice and honor formally to disclaim the right of the poor to support. To this end, I should propose a regulation be made declaring that no child born should ever be entitled to parish assistance. This infant is comparatively speaking, of little value to society , as others will immediately supply its place…All children beyond what would be required to keep up the population to this level must perish, unless room be made for them by the deaths of grown persons.” [1] Read more. https://www.intellihub.com/darwinism-eugenics-and-the-silent-genocide/ 1 Like |

The stories are fascinating to kids and at times they help build a sense of morality and godliness but the logic behind the message of certain parts of the bible are dangerous and harmful to cognitive and affective domains of a child.Very harmful I must say. 4 Likes 1 Share |

malvisguy212: Yes, I wouldnt mind there to be a God. In principle it sounds great to have an ultimate cosmic being looking out for me. He would be loving and generous kind carefree. He wouldn't hurt anyone no matter what the person did. We'd talk and he would explain things to me in a way I can appreciate. He would be nothing like the judeo-christian God and he certainly wouldn't create a world with evil and suffering. But this is just wishful thinking, far from reality. 6 Likes 2 Shares |

johnydon22: Both the Bible and the Koran place more emphasis on our need to fear God than love God, for God's retribution and punishment is the worst thing that can happen to you. Now, you cannot be fearful and at peace at the same time. If God can be violent towards you, and that is okay, what unconscious message does that send to a child? 5 Likes 2 Shares |

dalaman: The basis of such message centers on the need to instill morality via Godly fear factor, like i have always affirmed such disturbing position is diminishing to a child's mind, can bolt a child down the prison of their own guilt. You are very correct from what you asserted above and i would say such message instills on a child the mindset that threat of torture and violence to ensure conformity is a just course. It is a disturbing yet true effect of these books, that is why we have humans who are ok with the idea of other humans (Billions of them) burning in a fire forever while they bask in the euphoria of an ever good paradise. The basis of such belief is more fear than it is faith.. ... 1 Like |

plaetton: Why do you think people call on God ? Lemme give you one instance : A man suffering from a terminal disease who has a pregnant wife . After so many years of bareness , she finally conceived and since the disease is terminal he wont be able to see his unborn child . He also has lots of dreams he wants to pursue and accomplish . He wants to see his baby boy grow and become a great person in life . Since everything else failed , what do you think he should do? Oh dear that story was really poignant |
Re: Is The Bible Safe For Children? by plaetton: 9:28am On Nov 12, 2015 |
malvisguy212: This where ignorance goes full re.tard. Here is a guy, pretending that atheism is a competing religion, and then he goes to use Darwin and Darwin's family to make his twisted logic. The only thing he forgot is that Darwin was never an atheist, talkess of promoting it. Darwin only discovered certain biological facts previously unknown in his era. His discoveries and the theories he propounded have withstood 150yrs of rigorous scientific testing, and form the basis of modern biology and genetic sciences. Secondly, again waxing ignorant , malvisguy212 states that certain (unnamed) European nobles were trying to practice eugenics. Again, by selective amnesia, he forgot that the said unamed nobles were not atheists, but devout Christians. Mysteriously, atheism gets the blame. It seems, like Satan, atheism is the new fall guy for everything that is wrong in Christendom. 11 Likes 7 Shares |
