Gionee don't understand the African mobile market. Companies like Tecno, Infinix are doing very well. Report has it that Tecno sold over 45 millions of phones last year in Africa. Gionee market strategy is poor
And gionee makes FAR BETTER phones than Tecno and Infinix. Their marketing strategy is poor. I personally knew gionee from online reviews, blogs and forum like nairaland, not from their indirect advertising through mass media. Am using my second gionee phone and I have recommended to 4 other people.

Its a fact. Gionee is miles better than tecno.

gionee people make good phones with good specs and great battery life, but they hardly have the masses in mind, they forget Nigeria I'd a developing country and has majority of The masses as poor, their phones are usually expensive, and rvry font really market their products much or very friendly to customers

My Opinion sha
Gionee phones are not expensive. To me, it is the cheapest and best value for money you can get. M2 mini is 13,900 naira. m3 mini is 16,500 naira. m5 beats tecno phantom 5 hands down is sold for 43,500 naira while tecno phantom 5 is 69,999 naira.

ode. How does ur post confirm the question u were asked? Lol. Ur just another copy n paste blogger. Yeye

It's very obvious you have no idea of whom you're throwing shades at... You really need to sit tight and get your facts right.

You just came here to throw insults... If you've got any stats or facts to counter what he's trying to pass around, just lay it down and we'll learn.

same thing with me and this is my 3rd gionee phone and since then, I have bn encouraging people to join the Gionee wagon and non has reason to regret. Gionee only need to improve on their marketing strategies especially in the area of adverts

They are arguably the best Chinese smartphone brand in Nigeria but their marketing strategy is the worst so far, they have no dedicated website for Africa let alone Nigeria, even their Nigeria Facebook page is only updated once in like 3 months. If Gionee can step up their game like Infinix, Tecno and Innjoo I am sure they will rule Nigeria market because they already have the potential to do so, their phones are durable and cheaper than other Chinese brands.

Poor customer service. If you have problems with ur phone, an outrageous amount will need to fix it. Their marketing strategy is poor

their phones are expensive and unpopular. they might have nice specs but they cannot dethrone Samsung, Iphone, HTC & Huawei. they better make their phones affordable. That's the success story of TECNO & Infinix, affordability with good specs.

...because Chinese (& Indian) companies are generally stingy. They hardly spend on Marketing, Branding and Advertisements.

That's the sole difference between an American company and others in China. China is not ready to rebrand its image. An American based company is ready to spend $1billion on advertising a 'common' toothpick. The Chinese firm on the other hand will find it hard to spend N1.

The amount of money some world renowned companies spend on marketing exceeds Nigeria's yearly budget.

Trust the Chinese or Indian man, he'll want to employ cheap labourers to hawk his phone in Berger, Ikorodu and Shomolu. They think MARKETING means HAWKING.

Some firms like Gucci, or Vertu spend billions designing campaign/marketing ads. These guys are not wasters oo, they know the IN thing.

What 1000 OND holders will not generate by hawking Chinese phones around Ikeja, a 10 second TV ad (with Celebrity endorsements) will fetch 10 times over...

Oh, I wish I can go on and on...

Tecno work with best advertising agency in Nigeria, They do the best adverts and give tecno exposure, the current tecno karaoke tv show was a business plan by this agency, i saw the gionee m3 advert on tv and it was utter crap, they need a good ad agency that captures the average Nigerian , they need a celebrity ambassador someone like olamide and phyno , olamide has a lot of appeal if they do this their sales will sky rocket, they need to sponsor a tv show as well so There's constant publicity or maybe a gionee game show or something.

m2 mini is a great phone, if not for small screen, I saw the phone and was damn impressed by the camera battery and all 15k though. incredibly poor marketing, most of their phones in the range of 20 - 26k don't really make sense compared to infinix hot note, injoo fire and plus, Canon c8 and the likes

M5 also comes with 64 bit processor like Phantom 5. Even Gionee M3 mini of 17k has a 64 bit processor it's not a big deal, I would a choose M5 over Phantom 5 any day any time, 6000mah battery is more important to me than a useless finger print scanner.

I think Gionee's problem is just marketing and design.. The Gionee E series are the only ones with good build and design., they shoud improve on that...

Ryanxu, your attention is needed on this thread..

Nice write up op

Gionee is trying but when you look at their flagship like E6 and E7, people that bought vowed never to use Gionee again. That E7 is a hot plate and hangs like something else. How can 3gb RAM phone be hanging. If you check now the new gionee E7 is around 35k. Poor marketing and lack of decent and trustworthy customer service also contribute to their struggling here. Let them learn from Tecno and Infinix

Though I have bought phone more than twice the amount of the M3 mini, it is the best phone I have ever used. It is a really big improvement on the P4 I dropped. If I had more cash, I would have preferred the m5 but this m3 mini serves me real fine. I love gionee phones.
