Nice piece johnny smiley

When you think of the billions of stars in our milky way , add that to the billion of galaxies in the Universe , it would only show we are far from special, we are far not the center of it all...In fact it would really be absurd to say we are alone ...it is also scary for us to be alone in such a vast & deep space & also scary to imagine we are not alone (when you begin to imagine what other life forms to expect) given the strange worlds out there, I keep saying saying it the "Possibilities are endless", if only we would open our minds .

Alien life is out there, it can't just be in the "Earth" alone ...I can't just swallow that pill.... embarassed. The Earth is about 4.5 billion years old, the Universe believed to be about about 15 billion years old, other planets would have come into being within this time, some earlier than the earth, others younger than the earth, & it is possible they could habor life, some of these planets in maybe the Andromeda galaxy could have rudimentary life forms, some other planets in some other galaxy could have more complex life forms that could be way way advanced & civilized than humans, such that we maybe too stupid (even with all our advancement/technology/civilization) & remain insignificant especially if such planets have been around for more than 4.5 billion years...Its a possibility.... cheesy

So many star systems to explore, so many galaxies to search, at the end of the day the barrier is,.. & remains technology . At least now more of us now know we are not the centre of the Universe, not even the centre of the Milky way.......we are just a tiny spec of the cosmos. grin, hopefully we would soon find our neighbours, maybe they have already found us & found us not interesting enough to say "Hi", angry maybe they have said "Hi", wink but sadly we not yet intelligent to recognise them embarassed smiley

With the type of technology available to us now i would say that we can probably in the near future achieve something near the speed of light with nuclear reactors but still such ridiculous distances is still impossible to us.

Our galaxy for instance is 100,000light years in diameter, unless we can get to observe wormholes and create mini wormholes and blackholes in the near future i doubt if it would solve this problem but i know it will give us a better idea of the universe we live in.

Maybe going by quantum mechanics we could come up with a quantum generator that can generate alternate atoms of an object and project to a different point in space/time.

Sometimes one cant help but realize nature is far more crazier than we can ever imagine. . . for the fact that we are nature too shows just how crazy nature can be ...

A very Nice piece, but I think our focus is not to travel to the stars just yet, we have about 2 billions years to figure that one out, I think we should focus on increasing our life span to even a thousand years, Whats the essence of colonizing the galaxy only to enjoy it for a mere 100 years or less? if we cant maintain our physical vessel, how can we maintain a galaxy that most likely would contain extraterrestial life!!!

Anyways i believe in the human mind, i believe we would get there, 2000years ago, flying would be reserved for only the gods and their messengers, 500years ago, talking to someone at the other side of the world would be sorcery but this are normal things to us, i believe in 5000 years would be able to get to Alpha centauri in about 3hrs...

To me the value in human life is that we know it is feeble, we know we are mortal that to me is what makes this life worth the trouble.

I heard a Russian billionaire is funding a research to increase human life span to almost a thousand years but if that happens it will pose a threat of over population, rapid decrease in resources, catastrophic violence and the world as we know it might be thrown off balance..

personally i think negating factors maintains the balance of the world.. Where ever we stopped in our exploration of the universe our children would continue.

The nobility in it all is that we got to do it at all..

I too think there is no limit to what we can achieve, so coming years will see a huge leap in human space travels and exploration that what we are doing now might look like a joke.

Many planets might be colonized, people will go to other planets for holidays and massive structures in orbit round many bodies in our solar system would even be home to many..

at the speed of light, we would be too heavy and might disintegrate.. so that is a no - no

and black hole would surely upturns everything around it... including the laboratory

no it wouldn't . . . the gravitational attraction of black holes are actually proportional to their sizes.

This is so beautiful... Fact is fellow youths dont care about stuffs like this and that's why we are still where we are.
I will work on threads On Biology, Chemistry etc.. lets hope the Biologists and Chemists and other top notch professors of every scientific discipline help us out and make NL science section a place of unmatched wealth of knowledge
