For those of you who chose to pick on a couple of predictions and failings of some witnesses I leave this encounter Jesus had in his time on earth with the bolded being the emphasis. John 6: 49 till 71 ---Here is Jesus talking 49 Your forefathers ate the manna in the wilderness and yet they died. 50 This is the bread that comes down from heaven, so that anyone may eat of it and not die. 51 I am the living bread that came down from heaven. If anyone eats of this bread he will live forever; and for a fact, the bread that I will give is my flesh in behalf of the life of the world.” 52 Then the Jews began to argue with one another, saying: “How can this man give us his flesh to eat?” 53 So Jesus said to them: “Most truly I say to you, unless you eat the flesh of the Son of man and drink his blood, you have no life in yourselves. 54 Whoever feeds on my flesh and drinks my blood has everlasting life, and I will resurrect him on the last day; 55 for my flesh is true food and my blood is true drink. 56 Whoever feeds on my flesh and drinks my blood remains in union with me, and I in union with him. 57 Just as the living Father sent me and I live because of the Father, so also the one who feeds on me will live because of me. 58 This is the bread that came down from heaven. It is not as when your forefathers ate and yet died. Whoever feeds on this bread will live forever.” 59 He said these things as he was teaching in a synagogue in Ca·per′na·um. 60 When they heard this, many of his disciples said: “This speech is shocking; who can listen to it?” 61 But Jesus, knowing in himself that his disciples were murmuring about this, said to them: “Does this stumble you? 62 What, therefore, if you should see the Son of man ascending to where he was before? 63 It is the spirit that is life-giving; the flesh is of no use at all. The sayings that I have spoken to you are spirit and are life. 64 But there are some of you who do not believe.” For Jesus knew from the beginning those who did not believe and the one who would betray him. 65 He went on to say: “This is why I have said to you, no one can come to me unless it is granted him by the Father.” 66 Because of this, many of his disciples went off to the things behind and would no longer walk with him. 67 So Jesus said to the Twelve: “You do not want to go also, do you?” 68 Simon Peter answered him: “Lord, whom shall we go away to? You have sayings of everlasting life. 69 We have believed and have come to know that you are the Holy One of God.” 70 Jesus answered them: “I chose you twelve, did I not? Yet one of you is a slanderer.” 71 He was, in fact, speaking of Judas the son of Simon Is·car′i·ot, for this one was going to betray him, although he was one of the Twelve. I think I will take my chances with Jehovah's organisation despite a couple of scriptural misunderstandings and predictions but with accurate knowledge and evidence of the Holy spirit guiding the work THAN with those who purportedly worship God yet 1. Enforce tithing and fly around in private jets and set up private schools members cannot afford. 2. Bless troops to go and kill fellow catholics, protestants and etc 3. Endorse gay marriage 4. Introduce unbiblical doctrines like purgatory, limbo, venerate saints, worship mary 5. Leaders who jerry curl their hair and live luxurious lifestyles while members are in abject poverty 5. Frolick with world and political leaders. etc As for those who accuse some witnesses of misconduct, your line of reasoning is a complete fallacy of logic namely 1. Kemi cheats in exams 2. Kemi is a student of UNILAG 3. Therefore all students of UNILAG cheat in exams. That is complete illogical reasoning and I will not subscribe to the posters who keep saying that they know one JW who did this or that to describe the entire association of brotherhood. One scripture we won't find in the JW's bible is Acts 8:37 I believe that Jesus Christ is the Son of God. You claim you know Jesus with your lips, but your hearts are far from Him. Matthew 23:13 Jesus said: "But woe to you, scribes and Pharisees, hypocrites! For you shut up the kingdom of heaven against men; for you neither go in yourselves, nor do you allow those who are entering to go in. You believe only a 144 000 will rein with Christ-how wrong you are, Jesus said: all those who chose to believe in Him and follow His commandment's will enter in to be with Him. No-true believer misses out. You search the neighbourhoods-coming in the name of the Watchtower-you are leading the innocent to hell. You have turned the bible scriptures around, writing your own, leaving out who Jesus really is. |

Revelation 6:9-11 the fifth seal>When He opened the fifth seal, I saw under the altar the souls of those who had been slain for the word of God and for the testimony which they held. And they cried with a loud voice, saying "How long, O Lord, Holy and True until you judge and avenge our blood on those who dwell on the earth?" And a white robe was given to each of them; and it was said to them that they should rest a little while longer, until both the number of their fellow servants and their brethren, who would be killed as they were, was completed. So we see the word is telling the story-its written in black and white-the saints are already waiting in heaven. Its good about you JW's you pick out one script-without reading the rest, trying to push your point across-without reading the hole chapter in Matthew 5 verse 10 Blessed are those who are persecuted for righteousness " sake, For theirs is the kingdom of heaven. Verse 12 "Rejoice and exceedingly glad, for great is your reward in HEAVEN, for so they persecuted the prophets who were before you. Meaning to say> our brethren are resting in heaven until the day of the Lord. {Nothing is said about the 144 000 you JW's believe} Revelation 21:1-8 " And I saw a new heaven and a new earth, for the first heaven and the first earth had passed away. Also there was no more sea. Then I John, saw the Holy City, New Jerusalem, coming down out of heaven from God prepared as a bride adorned for her husband. And I heard a loud voice from heaven saying, "Behold, the tabernacle of God is with men, and He will dwell with them, and they shall be His people, and God Himself will be with them and be their God. "And God will wipe away every tear from their eye; there shall be no more death, nor sorrow, nor crying; and there shall be no more pain, for the former thing have passed away. Then He who sat on the throne said: "Behold, I make all things new." And He said to me, Write, for these words are true and faithful. And He said to me, "Its done! I and the Alpha and the Omega, the beginning and the end. I will give of the foundation of the water of life freely to him who thirsts. {And theirs still more to come into the kingdom} " He who overcomes shall inherit all things, and I will be His God and He shall be My son. " But the cowardly, unbelieving, abominable, murders, sexually immoral, sorcerers, idolaters, and all liars shall have there part in the lake which burns with fire and brimstone, which is the second death. So if this doesn't help you, to see the scriptures talking to you, then theirs nothing I could help you with, these are the words from the Lord. {Not my own} One question I would like to ask since you are in a great mood, why the change-why do the JW;s believe they needed to rewrite another bible? And leaving out the main verses such as Acts 8:37-I believe that Jesus Christ is the Son of God. Why hide the truth? Sarang: |

brocab: A very simple question yet no answer. So u saying I should focus on the scriptures you cited and let others go? Of course the lord said that,he also said the meek ones will inherit the EARTH and delight themselves in exquisite abundance of peace. To be sincere with you, despite all you wrote I couldnt understand a thing. As for the scripture,Jehovahs witness is not the only church that wrote their scripture..and what more,we did so from the original manuscript. That is why. We had to translate without mixing our beliefs, exactly what is on that manuscript. Do you know perhaps the story of William Tyndale and his disciple Coverdale? You see we do not leave any bible verse in obscurity. We believe that some people will go to heaven and others earth.. but you only believe that ALL good people will go to heaven. So what do you have to say about Psalm 37:29.10,11? |

Quote> to be sincere with you, despite all you wrote I couldn't understand a thing. Well perhaps if you would just study the bible, and not your own re-written bible-than you may understand what the Spirit of God is showing you-He interprets, how the bible is written. See the bible isn't just a everyday book, the bible is a spiritual book, and to connect with it you must give your life completely over to Christ. and become a born again Christian-Its the Spirit of God who shows us the true meanings what the word of God says. Centuries have past' and still in this day and age-Man have tried to use their own fleshly minds to work out to truth about Christ, and still man seems overly confused who God really is, listen we need the Spirit to glide our ways. Man can't understand the bible without the Spirit of God-its impossible to even go down that road in the flesh. You JW's believe only certain men and women have these spiritual gifts, in God's eye's we all do from those who chose to believe. Listen the bible stands above all other books-You cant change what God had written. Its the truth that will set you free. John 3:6 flesh gives birth to flesh, but the spirit gives birth to spirit. Meaning to say, the flesh can't answer what is spiritual. It's funny with you JW's you always find it hard practising the truth-you are walking through the neighbourhoods sharing not the truth about Christ-but another, your teachings is like living in a pictured fairy tale. Your beliefs are against every other religions-you believe only the 144 000 will rein with Christ. Well I have news for you, turn from your wicked ways, come and follow Christ, He will give you that same promise He had given to all His followers. I do understand why you are finding it hard to understand the truth about Christ. But hey I am here to help you. So I have to write this again>When the lord said the meek shall inherit the earth-He is talking about the new Jerusalem coming down from heaven, In the mean time our spirits rein with Christ. Revelation 21:2 Then I John, saw the holy city, New Jerusalem, coming down out of heaven from God. I hope you understand that? And still you have refused to tell our viewers why the JW's rewrote your bible, and why did the Watchtower leave out Acts 8:37 its because the JW's don't believe Jesus Christ is the Son of God-but the Ark Angel Michael who came into the world just as a man, and returned back as the Angel, sitting at the right side of the throne of God. As I said: you take verses out from each chapter, without having any understanding, every chapter has a story-and if you want me to be convinced then preach the word as its written. Sarang: |

Name your bibles with these numerous translations? Yes I agree studying to find the truth then studying to find fault, then I advise you-to read the bible written by God-not some bible written by the JW's. Theirs only one bible who claims Jesus isn't the Son of God-and its your bible who had chosen to re-write a new bible-trying to prove to our viewers that Jesus is no-more then the Ark Angel Michael. Rubbish>I suppose all cults refuse Christ. And besides what truth are you preferring too, you receive your truths from men, my truth are from God. What you don't understand is the bible isn't just a book that's written in the flesh' like every other fairy tale books like yours-it has a spiritual side to it, and its not men that teaches you the bible it's the Holy Spirit who teaches us the truths what God is saying. The truth will set you free. dolphinheart: |

Re: Jehovah's Witnesses: 17 Facts People Should Know About Them by brocab: 9:13am On Nov 13, 2015 |
You cant understand the bible because you study another-Maybe if you would read the bible correctly-we wouldn't be in this mess. I haven't come to you on my own, the words I speak are directly from the word of God. Its the word of God that cuts a man into-I am just a simple man-without the word of God, my words means nothing. Don't run from the truth-and tell the viewers why the JW's had translated their bible, given us your reason why you left out Acts 8:37 from your bible that Jesus Christ is the Son of God. Sarang: |
Re: Jehovah's Witnesses: 17 Facts People Should Know About Them by dolphinheart(m): 10:51am On Nov 13, 2015 |
@ brocad. Its not easy to understand you with the way you write. Name your bibles with these numerous translations? So u did not check it out, well no problem, the truth aren't for everyone. Those who's heart are aligned to finding the truth would look at why some translations have a similar view of acts 8:37 with the NWT. Yes I agree studying to find the truth then studying to find fault,And you refuse to apply it, hence the statement below then I advise you-to read the bible written by God-not some bible written by the JW's. Theirs only one bible who claims Jesus isn't the Son of God-and its your bible who had chosen to re- write a new bible-trying to prove to our viewers that Jesus is no- more then the Ark Angel Michael.Even if you study to find fault, pls study the right things. You have seen the responses of several Jehovahs witnesses on these thread, has any of them said or implied that jesus is not the son of God? There are numerous statements in the scriptures telling us about jesus being the son of God, compare those verses in ur translation with NWT and come back to tell everyone here what you see. And besides what truth are you preferring too, you receive your truths from men, my truth are from God. What you don't understand is the bible isn't just a book that's written in the flesh' like every other fairy tale books like yours-it has a spiritual side A lot of people always use these same story to show they are telling the truth. They use it simply cus they feel it can not be verified. Prophet mohamed used the same method, claiming spiritual influence. How do we know who is right or wrong? Not everyone shouting jesus!, jesus! Is telling the truth. 1 Like |

So basely you don't really believe in the bible-and you don't really believe in Christ to be your spiritual leader-its Him or Mohamed-you can't see the differences-Listen if you haven't worked it out yet' who Christ is-the Son of God, then you are claiming a falsehood against the neighbourhoods. You are either announcing another Jesus, or you come in the name of Mohamed, or maybe Michael. Which one? Ephesians 4:5 "Theirs only One Lord, one Faith and one baptism. Jesus Christ is Lord. What gets me' you pounce around like Christians, claiming to the world you are the true believers-"believers to what? Without Christ you are dead.. If you really believe "Jesus is the Son of God"-then why haven't any of you-explained it to me why Acts 8:37 isn't written in the JW's bible. We already know the answer to that, Its that you don't want people to see it. It would be confusing-firstly you tell them Jesus is Michael-and then the bible would be telling them Jesus is the Son of God. You haven't denied He is, but none of you have even agreed He is the Son of God. It was you' who had written there are other translations that don't have Acts 8:37, When I had asked you to point out these translations, you had given me nothing. Now your complaining? Now you are using the Prophet Mohamed as a spiritual leader' Till death do we part" Mohamed has a number one fan called Isis' a number one enemy against Christ. And you cant see the differences between the two-how each are worshipped-I suppose you would praise Isis, before Christ. I don't speak on my own authority-but the authority of Christ Listen the word of God doesn't come naturally in the flesh-it comes when the Spirit of God speaks through to our spirits, its the Spirit of God that revels the secrets about His words written in the bible, making us spirit filled Christians. What's your story? dolphinheart: 1 Like |
Re: Jehovah's Witnesses: 17 Facts People Should Know About Them by brocab: 3:42am On Nov 14, 2015 |
Listen I couldn't speak about God-without turning my life over to Him. I couldn't sit down in somebodies home preaching about a God I didn't know. I would be lying to myself, Let alone God. Before I became a Christian I was just a simple man, I had no-knowledge about God, until that special day, I can say, now as I read through the scriptures, the Spirit of God reveals His secrets in me that's written in the bible. He opens another doorway, that takes the blindness away from our eye's, we now have God's richness in His word. I remember the day's I tried to read the bible, it made no sense to me-but now I am a Spirit filled Christian, having Christ as my Lord and savour, My king and my Lord. He just blows my mind' everything about Him, not only does He speak to us through His word, but also through our dreams and visions. This guy takes us places. When the Lord's Spirit speaks through my spirit, I tell ya-its the most amazing voice ever heard within us beings. I tell you the truth-God really connects with us. |
Re: Jehovah's Witnesses: 17 Facts People Should Know About Them by brocab: 4:17am On Nov 15, 2015 |
This doesn't make any sense? Do not the JW's call themselves Christians-which means Christ like>are you upset because we are from a different denomination-and we see Christ as our Spiritual leader-our Lord and savour. Are we the false accusers, you are preferring too because we don't follow after your organization, but our own in Christ. I have news for you-there is no denominational groups in heaven John 3:16 Jesus said: those who believe in Him should not perish but have ever lasting life. LinuxMint: |

Matthew 12:47, 17:21, 18:11, 21:44, 23:14, are completely missing from both bibles. Mark 7:16, 9:44, 9:46, 11:26, 15:28, 16:9-20, are also missing from both bibles.Luke 17:36, 22:43, 22:44, 23:17-John 5:4, 7:53, 8:11. Acts 8:37, 15:34, 24:7, 28:29. Romans 16:24, and 1 John 5:7. You people need to catch up on some good reading, with these great verses taking out of the picture, no-wonder you people haven't the slightness idea what other Christians have to say. jorez: Of course you will claim Jesus is created, here you have it in your publications: The Watchtower Society teaches that Jesus Christ was the first created being of Jehovah God. Jehovah God created Jesus as a divine-like spirit at some point in ancient, pre-creation time. "This means that he was created before all the other spirit sons of God, and that he is the only one who was directly created by God" (You Can Live Forever in Paradise on Earth [Live] [Brooklyn: Watchtower Bible and Tract Society of New York, 1982], p. 58). You have a reading problem - firstborn doesn't mean first-created. The Watchtower Society also errs in its interpretation of Colossians 1:15-20. They interpret the word "firstborn" in verse 15 to mean "first-created." However, the firstborn (prototokos) principle in Hebrew culture refers to privilege and superiority, not to priority in time. Also, the Watchtower Society has presumptuously added to its translation of verses 16-20 by parenthetically inserting "other" in several places where no word appears in the Greek text. This unwarranted addition is made so the text will conform to the Watchtower Society's theological position on Christ. Una no tire, una go they change and change Bible just to make it suit what you want You guys can change it all you want, it goes to show the judgement that God will deliver to those who change his Word |
Re: Jehovah's Witnesses: 17 Facts People Should Know About Them by alexis(m): 12:00am On Nov 17, 2015 |
jorez: I have read it and responded to you. First born doesn't mean first created. It is only in JW translation that you guys have changed it. You guys translators have been anonymous and you have refused to give up their names for avoidance of asking questions. Can you show me any translation or the original Hebrew and Greek translation prior to your translation where first-born is translated to mean first created? Your beliefs contradict scripture so you guys have made a translation that suits what you believe . For example: The New World Translation renders the Greek term word staurós ("cross" as "torture stake" because Jehovah’s Witnesses do not believe that Jesus was crucified on a cross. The New World Translation does not translate the words sheol, hades, gehenna, and tartarus as "hell” because Jehovah’s Witnesses do not believe in hell. The NWT gives the translation "presence" instead of “coming” for the Greek word parousia because Jehovah’s Witnesses believe that Christ has already returned in the early 1900s Na only God will forgive such deceit |

dolphinheart Have you tried to see if there are other translations that use "a god"? . There are no other translations apart from Jehovah witness translation On john 5:7, Bro if you had researched on the manuscripts , you would have known why most translation removed or did not put the words you quoted in that verse . Please refer me to the manuscript you are referring to. Again, I have studied most of them and we have access to most of them And I did tell you that the authority and power to forgive sins, which is inherent in the authority to judge, was giving to jesus by God, his father. And if something was giving to. Someone, it means that at a time he did not have such authority. This authority was later extented to the disciples and it also did not make them God. If you say only God can forgive, are the disciples God too? You keep missing my point. If you are a CEO of a company and your brother is a CEO both of you will be given the respect and privileges of a CEO. My point is that Jesus was God in the flesh. It's clear from scripture Colossians 2:9 = For in him dwelleth all the fulness of the Godhead bodily. Is that what I said ? Absolutely no, I never said jesus said " my lord and my god, read my post again before you accuse me of dishonesty, and after you have done so, ill like you to retract ur accusation. My bad - what did you say? What did Thomas mean when he said "My Lord and My God". Thomas called Jesus God with a capital G - why did thomas do this? Pls show me which verse(s) you are reffering to . And while doing that pls always not, that jesus is always subjected to his God, the father, the almighty God. Here are the verses I am referring to: 1. Revelation 21:5-7: 5 He who was seated on the throne said, “I am making everything new!” Then he said, “Write this down, for these words are trustworthy and true.” 6 He said to me: “It is done. I am the Alpha and the Omega, the Beginning and the End. To the thirsty I will give water without cost from the spring of the water of life. 7 Those who are victorious will inherit all this, and I will be their God and they will be my children. Here we see the identification that Alpha and Omega is Jehovah God right? 2. Revelation 22:13 = I am Alpha and Omega, the beginning and the end, the first and the last. Here we see Jehovah as being called the first and the last - is that correct? 3. Revelation 1:17 = When I saw him, I fell at his feet as though dead. Then he placed his right hand on me and said: "Do not be afraid. I am the first and the last. Here we see Jehovah called the first and the last again. So far, do you agree that it is Jehovah that is being referenced? |

Jessicha: You are confusing yourself. You agreed that the First and the Last or the Apha and Omega is Jehovah Almighty God right. I agree with you, I am not denying that. The question then is - how come the First and last said He was dead? You agreed that only Jehovah can have these titles, why would Jesus even share these titles with Jehovah the Almighty? |

@ alexis There are no other translations apart from Jehovah witness translation The New Testament, in An Improved Version, Upon the Basis of Archbishop Newcom New Translation: With a Corrected Text, London. http://www.bible-researcher.com/belsham.html There are several others and maybe you can use these two webpages to find them . http://onlytruegod.org/defense/john1.1c.htm https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/John_1:1 Please refer me to theI said manuscripts, not manuscript. There are several that in which such words are not found. Many other more recent Bible versions likewise recognize the spurious added text and omit it, including the New International Version, American Standard Version and New American Standard Bible, English Standard Version, New English Bible and Revised English Bible, New American Bible, Jerusalem Bible and New Jerusalem Bible, Good News Bible, New Living Translation, HolmanChristian Standard Bible, Bible in Basic English and the Twentieth Century New Testament. “The textual evidence is against 1 John 5:7,” explains Dr. Neil Lightfoot, a New Testament professor. “Of all the Greek manuscripts, only two contain it. These two manuscripts are of very late dates, one from the fourteenth or fifteenth century and the other from the sixteenth century. Two other manuscripts have this verse written in the margin. All four manuscripts show that this verse was apparently translated from a late form of the Latin Vulgate” ( How We Got the Bible, 2003, pp. 100-101). http://www.ucg.org/bible-study-tools/booklets/is-god-a-trinity/a-spurious-reference-to-the-trinity-added-in-1-john-5-7 http://www.biblicalunitarian.com/verses/1-john-5-7-8 Pls read this tyndalearchive.com/scriptures/www.innvista.com/scriptures/compare/trinity.htm In the Roman Catholic tradition, the Latin Nova Vulgata (New Vulgate), published in 1979 following the Second Vatican Council, based on the Critical Text and approved for liturgical use, does not include the Comma.[2] Nor does the English-language New American Bible. https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Comma_Johanneum So since you have access to most of these manuscripts, pls check them to see what 1 john 5:7 says and compare with what the site I posted said. Your point is quite clear, I'm just telling you that the scriptures does not support ur views. That there are two CEO's in a company does not mean they have equal authority and privileges. Even if jesus is a CEO, he is still subjected to God, his father. And watever authority or power that jesus had, he was giving by his God. On 2 Col 2:9 , Was the apostle Paul there saying that the “fulness” that was in Christ made Christ God himself? Not according to , where Christ is said to be “seated at the right hand of God.” Col 3:1 Since, then, you have been raised with Christ, set your hearts on things above, where Christ is, seated at the right hand of God. Col 1:19 For God was pleased to have all his fullness dwell in him, My bad - what did you say? Thomas made the statement, not jesus, will you now retract accusation? What did Thomas mean when he said " My Lord and My First the use of God with capital G is from translations, not from the greek manuscripts and definitely not from thomas' mouth. A translations gives that verse thus : "My Lord and my God!" Thomas exclaimed. Jesus is a mighty God. But who did jesus tell mary earlier in that chapter to tell the disciples that ours and his God is? "Jesus said, “Do not hold on to me, for I have not yet ascended to the Father. Go instead to my brothers and tell them, ‘I am ascending to my Father and your Father, to my God and your God.’ ” Therefore jesus is not the almighty God as he made us realize he has a God . Hebrew 1:9 also supports this view . "You have loved righteousness and hated wickedness; therefore God, your God, has set you above your companions by anointing you with the oil of joy. Here are the verses I am referring to:Verse 7 helps to identify the speaker : " I will be their God and they will be my children." Inasmuch as Jesus referred to those who are joint heirs with him in his Kingdom as “brothers,” not “sons,” the speaker must be Jesus’ heavenly Father, Jehovah God. Heb 2:10-12 Mat 25:40 2. Revelation 22:13 = I am Alpha and Omega, the Yes you are correct . 3. Revelation 1:17 = When I saw him, I fell at his feet as though dead. Then he placed his right hand on me and said: "Do not be afraid. I am the first and the last.Nop, I do not agree that it is jehovah that is being referenced . ................ Ill like to ask you to tell me ur views of 5 scriptures I will quote here, and relate it to trinity. 1. 1Cor 11:3 But I want you to realize that the head of every man is Christ, and the head of the woman is man, and the head of Christ is God. 2. 1cor 15:27-28 27 For he “has put everything under his feet.” c Now when it says that “everything” has been put under him, it is clear that this does not include God himself, who put everything under Christ. 28 When he has done this, then the Son himself will be made subject to him who put everything under him, so that God may be all in all. 3. John 17:3 3 Now this is eternal life: that they know you, the only true God, and Jesus Christ, whom you have sent. 4. 1 cor 8:5-6 "there are so-called gods, whether in heaven or on earth (as indeed there are many “gods” and many “lords”), 6 yet for us there is but one God, the Father, from whom all things came and for whom we live; and there is but one Lord, Jesus Christ, through whom all things came and through whom we live. 5. 1 peter 1:3 Praise be to the God and Father of our Lord Jesus. Christ! In his great mercy he has given us new birth into a living hope through the resurrection of Jesus Christ from the dead. |
