Wonderful mothers in the house I greet you all. Pls am new to this thread and I just put to bed. My baby is four days now and I just notice that the white part of her eyes had turned yellow and the color of her skin is not normal. I went to see my Doc. and he said is a minor jaundice that I should keep giving her water and glucose it will clear in few days. Pls has anyone experience this? Also she do have this heavy hiccups that come minutes by minutes.

Put some eucalyptus oil on a towel and place near him so he can inhale. You can hang it like a bib on his cloth sef.

I know some people do steam therapy but i have no idea how it's done LOL

its possible, with my kids, anytime i change their cream, rashes must follow, it clears after a while. it might also be something else e.g i noticed rashes on my baby's skin, after observing for a while, i realised it was cos of pap, YES, pap o, who would have thought! anyways, better for me sef, i kuku no dey bother myself with all the akamu process, ported straight to cereal.[quote author=OloriAbdulatif post=39945277][/quote]

as i was instructed in the hospital
1. boil water
2. put A drop of eucalyptus oil in water
3. remove all of baby's clothes ( i dunno if this depends on age)
4. use a big clothe ( wrapper bedsheet) to cover you and your baby. ( remember the bucket of hot water join o)
i was told its not wise to turn the baby's face to directly face the steam and also, do this like 30mins b4 bed to enable the baby sleep well.

you can also drop small BM o, that one dey work well well, i can testify to that. cheers

Teething does not cause rashes in children.

Is he EBF? If yes then you have nothing to worry about..sometimes EBF babies can stay up to one week without going.

My baby started having rashes n I was advised to switch to sebamed wc I did.in less than 10days are body ws smooth n shining.infact my neighbor had 2 change her son's cream to sebamed cos off dat.

pls mama's am tired of it the normal thing.my baby is 7wks nd hv been having serious stomach pain nd rumbling, I took her to hospt the doc said is colic nd prescribe lnfacoli drug which I hv bn giving her .the drug makes her to pass gas nd poo often.the poo is getting watery,went back he said is normal.the hosp is health centre

Are u sure it's oral thrush??

Most times it's just breast milk residue o

Use one of the baby wash cloth to clean the baby's mouth

my baby of one week had the same on his lips and all over his mouth, even on his tongue. I try cleaning it but it refuse going of but after few days it cleared off just on its own.

If you've tried cleaning it and it doesn't go then it's oral thrust not breaskmilk residue.
My first LO had it and everyone kept saying its breaskmilk but I just knew something was wrong.
You can either
1. Wait it out. Sometimes it clears on its own within a week or two or;
2. See a Dr.
Personally I suggest you go see a Dr since you said he's in pain.
How old is your baby?

You can do it yourself( I did) Bath with hot but bearable water and have hubby massage your whole body including your tummy using a towel soaked in hot water( not 100 degrees o!)
He has to press it well o grin . He can do it while you're taking a bath & it doesn't have to be for so many days, one week is ok.

buy glycerin borax, apply it on d tongue with cotton bud, like every 3 days, gradually it will go. pls don't use alum as most people do cos d child will lick and its very bad for the intestine. my baby is just 7 weeks and glycerin is what I use for him cos that whitish substance on d tongue can expose them to infection.

Yes, it expose them to infection. buy glycerin borax by moko. its also good for gum washing. apply don't scrub pls.
