PUSH1: Are you kidding me? The Brits spend alot more on just holidays abroad than Nigerians spend in UK... Why should they go to another man's country to purchase things readily available in their own country.. It's all well and good supporting your home market, and placing restrictions on imports, but you must be ready to provide the quality goods and enabling environs if you want home trade to flourish.. We are not there yet.. 1 Like |

erico2k2:which market exactly in SE london are talking about? The one they are talking about on here is in liverpool street, that's definitely not in SE london. AM assuming you are talking about the east street market along walwort road between cambarwell road and elephant and castle SE london |

erico2k2: Oga madam Liverpool street is in central London. The heart of d city (in London, d city is d financial district), u find university and office buildings in DT area. Even dt iconic igloo-looking building (cant rmmbr d name) is in DT area. You will not find RESIDENTIAL BUILDINGs. Its just a specialist foreign market mainly for fabrics. And there are a lot of specialist markets in london. By specialist i mean, very specific goods. e.g. if i want a very good scarf i go to d arabs on edgware road. They don't sell UK products. Everyone DT goes to these mkts know DT. If u want qlty jeans u go to topshop on d high street & not to a specialist MKT where u know d jeans was imported from turkey. |

FG should mandate that before applying for a foreign visa to non-sub-Saharan African nations Nigerians should pay for a permit from FG equivalent to 3 times the cost of visa for that country. unless they can prove compassionate reasons why the fee for permit should be reduced to minimum $150. That should do the trick. DelGardo: |

ThisMeansWAR:I was tempted to call you a FOOL! But because I respect humans I won't say so... Nigerian have every right to complain of their condition if it is not favourable to them irrespective of whom holds power. The market state of UK does not concern us, our status is what matters. Every unemployed youth who sees your statement would certainly be mad at ur naïve reply. No offence... Just couldn't hold back my anger. Can't tell if Buhari is work but I want Nigeria to work, irrespective of who holds power. |

erico2k2: Oga what point are u trying to make exactly? I am CATEGORICALLY TELLING u DT market women DT sell lace and shoes in Nigeria (mostly yoruba women) troop there ALL THE TIME to buy LOADS of stuff. Have u ever bn there? Pple buy shoe/bag set in massive Ghana must go and cargo it home. Same wt d lace. Very few pple even go there to buy single stuff. They buy to resell cos they do massive wholesales. Where do u think balogun women get there lace?. Some of them DT are made bring in containers from south Korea or import directly from Switzerland but majority of them starting out buy from Liverpool street. DT market has bn there for decades and kept growing. Why wld d market be full of buyers and sellers if pple are not buying? Nobody goes there to buy Argos items and high street clothes. Why are u arguing over somewhere uve never been. Jeeez!!! |
