I am of the opinion that Anambra can borrow only when the reason for the borrowing justifies such. And the repayment plan should be drawn alongside the tender. E. g. Borrowing to accelerate the development in the agricultural sector, oil, gas and petrochemicals aren't a bad idea because these can service any loan in under 5 years
But do we really have need for borrowing? I wrote on this thread sometime ago that as long as the regime of impunity in the tax, levies and IGR in the State is not jettisoned we shall continue to cry for funds in the midst of plenty.
This a State where Mr Peter Obi was putting forward N500 million as IGR for close to 8 years while his tax collector friends/tax contractors were smiling home with billions in their pocket. To the extent that traders protested their continued payment of taxes
What's difficult in making tax/levy collection transparent, ensuring that Government gets what it should get? A rough census of the number of shops and business in Anambra state gives an idea that if each shop pay about N3000( some pay monthly, some quarterly depending on the assessment), the state can make upto N3 Billion every month. If the civil service can't make the thing happen why not create a special agency for that and hire professionals to do the job.
An Anambrarian did the magic in Lagos State, what stops us from hiring the same person to do much better in his home State. I am not happy that uptil this moment we have not been able to get this taxation issue right. It is not all about increasing the percentage of levies paid

The stories of he squandered 75 billion, he is a champagne guzzler, he borrowed this and that etc. Go to Facebook, there are many stories there, now that Obiano reacted to one of the stories, you are now crying. I don't work for obiano but I believe he should respond to this challenge of public debate from obi's aide by involving EFCC. The earlier the better. He should be wise enough to deal with this matter before the next elections.

Just like every other person I think this is coming very late from obiano and I think he is ready to fight now so let's just watch as things unfold. As at March 17th, 2017, the Naira equivalence of this was Twenty-Six Billion, five hundred million Naira (N26,500,000,000)
In their effusion of lies called a press conference, the Anambra Government said the investment had lost value. From experts who computed the investment, the total portfolio value is now $176,293,114. This means the investment has gained $20,293,114 (N8,758,622,951)
Mr. Peter Obi who invested the money called it Anambra State Future Generation Fund (ASFGF), and they are being held till maturity. I understand the present Government in Awka plans to sell it and has already appointed a financial firm to oversee that.
Value of investment today is N35,258,622,951.14

Prove he was corrupt (i never said he's not), So he pays them 190k,what about it? If any commissioner doesn't like it, he can resign the appointment, no be by force.
