If 109 Senators have 500 aides; it implies an average of 5 aides/Senator.
What exactly is a lawmaker (of a poor 3rd-world nation) doing with 5 aides on tax-payers money? Public service should not be an opportunity to indulge in satiation but a demonstration of will to sacrifice for a more prosperous nation. eh nawa o. Make a whole senator no get aids again? A workshop on Facebook for Nigerian senators? On issues relating to Public Policy and Good Governance? If this is true then Saraki must be joking and ridiculing the intelligence of his colleagues and aides. Or it could be one of their usual ploys of siphoning the national treasury under the guise of a useless course under an unnecessary Facebook Africa. Haba Alhaji Saraki, your kids and grandkids would gladly teach you that without you going into public treasury! Next time you all would be learning how to play games on the computer! None of these has got nothing to do with good governance - or with any governance at all. Wake up, and change. This Nigeria. |

Ok, this is how it works;
1.MDAs prepare their budget for the next year,
2.Heads of MDAs go to the Senate to defend their budget.
3. Senators overseeing that particular establishment "request" for a little "something" to be added to that in order not to "slash" it.. Eg, min of pepper & salt puts in a reguest for 500mn, senators ask for 100m as the "fee" for smooth passage, which will automatically increase the 500 to 600..
4.They quickly source for the money from one of their numerous accounts & they pay up even before passage, otherwise it is OYO
With the TSA, there is no longer going to be money for heads of MDAs to steal let alone kickback to them.. All the inflows & outflows are no longer shrouded in mystery...
MDAs are presently looking for ways to spend what is left of their budgets, so it doesn't revert to TSA cos by 31st Dec, every unspent kobo will be pulled out..
Lawmakers didn't kill & maim to get to their post for that ish mehn..
Hope it's clearer, if it isn't, let me know.

Serendip: None of the 109 Senators attended an online training organised on Monday by the office of the Senate President, Bukola Saraki.
The workshop was organised for the senators and their aides and it was aimed at strengthening their use of Facebook and Social media for effective communication on issues relating to Public Policy and Good Governance.
Our correspondent also observed that, less than 10 percent of the aides of the senators attended the event.
Majority of those in attendance were from the senate president’s office.
Findings revealed that just 25 out of about 500 senators’ aides, actually turned up for the programme.
The Chief of Staff to the Senate President, Senator Isa Galaudu, had in a statement issued on Thursday, said the training was in line with the promise of the senate president to bring about, a more representative legislature through the use of technology and e-parliamentary tools.
He had said that the training, would be conducted by the Head of Policy at Facebook Africa and members of her team, billed to arrive in the country on Sunday.

Poor? Yes, majority of the the population is economically poor, 3rd world? I don't think so. |

Mr. Senate President(Bukola Saraki) u r a very wasteful/wreckless and corrupt administrator. U wnt an expatriate to fly into Nigeria and teach u and ur fellow senators & aides d use of facebook where u ought 2 hv ask ur grandchildren or pry 6-JSS 1 Students to teach u and ur numbskulls. This is a simple case of irresponsible/senseless/mindless deliberate expenditure because u hv money voted for ur office. And anybody supporting dis act must be viewed as pple who shld b sent back 2 d stone-age. |
