It is shame that Morgan cannot fix the issue of their expired security certificate since yesterday. It does not show them in good light. Clients should be safe on their site. 3 Likes 2 Shares |

BREAKING DOWN 'Debt/Equity Swap' A debt/equity swap is a refinancing deal in which a debtholder gets an equity position in exchange for cancellation of the debt. The swap is generally done to help a struggling company continue to operate (after all, an insolvent company can't pay its debts or improve its equity standing). However, sometimes a company may simply wish to take advantage of favorable market conditions. Yay!!!! Finally I can pass comment on this thread. I don wait tire. Haba!!! Anyway, its great to be here...now let me quickly dolt out my own 'tubum tubum' analysis My take on the Oando right issue is that it has a positive and a negative side to it (obviously). On the positive side, the company can easily settle the debt it has inqured in acquiring the COP assets. The last time I checked, the debt stands at about $500m, so with $402m raised from the Rights and the divestment of the Power and Gas business, the debt can be significantly reduced. The negative part of the Rights will be the massive OS. I think with the Rights, Oando's OS will be about 40billion. That will be the highest in the Oil and Gas sector and probably the highest on the bourse. So Oando shareholders shouldn't be expecting any N1 dividend any time soon. As long as crude oil price continues to trade downwards, and assuming Oando finally returns to profitability, my guess is that the highest dividend Oando will be able to give will be between 10-15kobo....However, If there's a major rebound in crude oil price, I think they will be able to afford giving a significant higher dividend...a company like FBNH has about 35billion OS yet gives over N1 dividend yearly....with crude price trading between 80-100, I'll want to think Oando can rake in considerable more profit that the Elephant. (A cynical mindset will think, fbnh care about their shareholders, Oando does not give a hoot- I concur. So potential investors, should be wary of that). Another downside of the Right issue is the possibility of a reconstruction later in future...one can't rule that out...but I don't see that happening soon. Maybe in two or three years when the company has start announcing profits and investor confidence has returned. Then they'll shock us all with a reconstruction announcement. . Then PeterRichy will come out with "the Octopus told you so" and Born2berich with the "JokeOfTheYear" has done it again Anywayz, in myjoy's voice #It Is Well . Its nice to meet you guys, I hope I enjoy being here. #peace 2 Likes 1 Share |
