This is the 1st time I have seen a government release a press statement about the Presidential fleet while offering to provide documents as regards what has been spent to maintain it What exactly do u PDP people want? 2 Likes |

mrvitalis:Bros. this wailers thing, APC e this and e that, insults between Nigerian youths really needs to stop. Youths in Nigeria shouldn't have to compete about governance in Nigeria. The elections are long over. We don't need to be partisan anymore at least for almost another 4 years. Let's join hands to help this country. you might not know but Nigeria is failing seriously in ALL aspects. If there is an issue lets trash it well so pressure will be on our leaders to change, not this wailers and other childish talks. Thats my take anyway. 1 Like 1 Share |

I pray fervently for this new administration to work, but they already look like they are failing and officially clutching on broken straws. Its from inception you know a tree that will produce fine fruits which I don't see in this administration. Hope I am wrong. |

A source said: “President Buhari has adopted a strict policy on the use of presidential aircraft in order to save cost. His wife and relations have been restricted from the use of the aircraft in the presidential fleet. “A situation where the aircraft were used anyhow by some friends, associates of the President during the administration of ex-President Goodluck Jonathan can no longer be applicable in this dispensation. “For example, the wife of the President, Hajiya Aisha Buhari and three children travelled for lesser Hajj in Saudi Arabia on Emirates Airline. “Buhari is determined to ensure the judicious use of the presidential aircraft to save cost. He is also setting a new template for governance. Do not be surprised if you see the President using commercial flights.” Another source said: “Do you know that it costs about N747 million to fuel the aircraft in the presidential fleet per annum. President Buhari said his administration cannot afford such a luxury.” “The US President, Barrack Obama uses only two Boeing jets and one helicopter. So, Buhari is determined to cut cost. In any case, he lives an austere life. If he can ask his wife to fly a commercial jet, then other public officers must emulate his standard.” thenationonlineng.net/buhari-restricts-use-of-presidential-aircraft-by-wife-aides/ |

I wonder why people will prefer to believe a speculative newspaper report over a press statement with verifiable facts and figures. Like Mr. Adesina said, I have learnt not to believe everything I read or hear in the news because there are always 2 sides to a story. 1 Like |

RevDesmondJuju:in short, if commercial airplane goes to abuja 5 times a day, it will require same meaintainance and fuel that a private jet require for a single trip? The price of aviation fuel or oil is more expensive for private plane to commercial plane? Just when I thought I have seen the dumbest person on nairaland, you just had to prove me weong, For the record, there is nothing like cheaper commercial viable nonsense .. In case some people are taking your crap seriously... This is airplane not ikedichukwu bus that you can manage bad thing in the bus for several months and not care until it breaks down on the road .. Commercial flights requires constant meaintainance to avoid stories that touch in the air .. Thats why its more expensive to fly .. 1 Like |
