Also, look up the definition of C2

Upon reading what C2 is, you should be embarrassed

You dumb-Fvck!

A surveilliance system is only part of the Navy's wider Regional Maritime Awareness Capability initiative.

We can all clearly see a Digital C2 system in the photos i've shared.

No, I can see a digital surveillance system.

So apart from the fact that you are talking about the Navy when we are talking about land operations... what evidence is there of net-centric warfare capabilities?

Dude, you arent even on the same page here.

And again, go look up the definition of C2 - a general and a radio constitute C2.

UPDATE ON OPERATION LAFIYA DOLE
Troops of 7 Division Garrison Nigerian Army in Operation LAFIYA DOLE, made a remarkable progress by arresting a Boko Haram Terrorist kingpin, Mr John Trankil, at Kasuwar Shanu in Maiduguri metropolis.
Preliminary investigation revealed that 9 terrorists sneaked into the Maiduguri armed with AK 47 assault rifles and a Hilux vehicle laden with 20 Improvised Explosive Devices meant to be detonated at some selected targets in the city.
In a related development, troops of 21 Brigade Nigerian Army, while on offensive operations on Boko Haram terrorists location, with the support from the Nigerian Airforce discovered and destroyed the terrorists' Improvised Explosive Device (IED) and Rocket making factory along Bama-Gonin Kurmi within the outskirts of Bama town, Borno State.
The items recovered includes gas cylinders, welding machine, pipes and poles. Others include locally made rocket shells,
large quantity of assorted chemicals, unprimed IEDs and various technical and laboratory equipment suspected to be stolen from schools' laboratories around Bama before they were dislodged from the area.
The Theatre Commander operation LAFIYA DOLE, Major General Yusha'u Mahmood Abubakar, commended the efforts of the troops and implored troops and the public to be more vigilant and security conscious particularly at all check points, markets, worship centres, motor parks and schools.

Guy this is getting too much. You guys don't even know enough about the capabilities of your equipments, we educate you guys rite here on nairaland. Now you want to tell us about our own equipment that you know nothing about. Before you fool yourself further, let me remind you that military equipment vary from country to country even with the same name just as your lynx have no ASW and it cannot carry any arms, same as your valour which has no ASW and can't even carry any torpedoes which are suppose to be standard.
Now Imagine yourself going to read about our gazelle, Augusta or mi-17 helicopter online will anyone tell you they were armed dummy.

You are like a dummy going to look for Facebook in the library.

We are ahead of you and we don't make noise about it, it's SA that want to claim what they are not by posting pics of sub-standard equipment everywhere.

Use your head and stop derailing this tread.

If you want to argue come to the other thread so we can educate you about what you don't know.

Lynx is armed - .50 HMG
Valour Class has ASW (Thales UMS4132 Kingklip sonar) as well as 4 324 mm torp tubes.

So no, you do not educate us.

You are the one throwing insults buddy, empty ones at that.

We are simply pointing out that Henry120 is mistaken when he proudly boasts "we didnt learn nuffing"

And you accuse me of de-railing the thread? let my remind you of who is responsible:

agaugust:

I believe AU did not do a good training worth the effort in South Africa, AU problem, but the host should have provided an adequate battle theatre that reflects current African needs.....or are they only going to intervene in open land desert wars?

agaugust:

Nigerian, Ugandan, Kenyan army do not train like that. Nigerian director, but he is compelled to act out a 100% South African style written training script.

Who does not know how artillery works? SANDF you mean? They have not fired artillery in combat since 20 years ago.

agaugust:

The battle theatre provided by South Africa is grossly inadequate in terms of today's African conflict realities.

I said in a post a while back: Lets move on.

But you boys refused (see posts today by Augustus and Henry120)

After reading your post I KNOW you are a slowpoke

1. All 5000 can be deployed, rotated through units in donor nations armies

AMANI trained only 5,000 troops, AU has only those men trained to deploy together.

If you rotate them with troops who did NOT train under AMANI doctrine, tactics, and equipment, then you have defeated the purpose, you end up with a rotational replacement/relieve force of a brand new set of 5,000 troops who have NEVER trained together ! Then we don't need an AU force trained in AMANI if we can deploy just any 5,000 troops randomly picked from 10 different countries....you have defeated the purpose of joint excercise, blending, and interoperability.

See how emotions blinds a man from reality of warfare.

The presumption is that if there is an active deployment exercises will be conducted to bring troops up to speed before they deploy!

See how much fun it is to speculate!

Fact is that professional soldiers and staff officers planned Amani Africa to be as it is, who are you to criticize it based on 2 hours of footage from a press demonstration?

Nigeria does not posses the capabilities required for net-centric warfare (confirmed by you), SANDF does.

Simple as that

Definition of C2 does NOT include datalink. C2 is simple as ABC, commands by a commander communicated to troops under his control.

C2 is simply command and control, buy you guys try to make it look like a nuclear weapon.

Datalink is not C2, it is data sharing among connected receivers. It does not see the battlefield. Modern C2 involves seeing the battle space real-time and Nigeria has that capacity. DHQ watched and commanded operations live video real time relayed to C2 in Abuja during the final offensive on Sambisa forest. We posted that report here early this year.

Show us the C2 equipment that SANDF has which Nigeria does not have.
