MayorofLagos: Mayor This is a great idea; why did you think it would be unpopular. This idea shouldn't apply to Osun alone; all SW states can adopt this idea. One of the reasons why communities stay poor is because governments don't spend the proceeds of loans on indigenes preferring to award contracts to external 3rd parties who will come and execute projects and then leave with funds. But current politicians will not adopt this because they wont be able to inflate contracts exorbitantly. |

oyb: Chairman Oyb, how you dey? Your post illustrates why I called Ambode a failure. He came in with no ideas except to Sully Fashola's name. Lagos has a working machinery; all he needed to do was continue what was on ground while thinking of new ways to generate revenue and improve the standard of living. 1 Like |

I don't think he remembers though, cos he has so many monikers & E wars to his credit.. Used to be sceptical as well, thinking " this guy is gonna fly off the handle soon oo" 1 Like 1 Share |

StuntingBlack: How you doin' bruv? Hope you are well. I love your post. It expatiates on what I was trying to articulate. People shouldn't just sit on their arses and accept whatever these politicians dish. They need to become more active in governance. How many people organize action to challenge LG Chairman for asinine policies and actions? People need to also educate their family and friends on how to improve the situation. Letting politicians control grass root politics will never improve the situation. The youths are standing by and watching their futures mortgaged. There needs to be active participation by learned folks. |

Aareonakakanfo: How u doing Bro. Men, I had to dispose my moniker seeing that most old cargoes before me have changed theirs. But what actually surprised me was the 'change in intellectual rhetoric' i have witnessed recently. No wonder I had to change moniker. |

modath: Loool. I'm a lover not a fighter. But due to how this forum is - you just have to flip to keep folks at bay. People are just naturally disrespectful, and perhaps it's cos I'm from an environment where "respect" is very important. If I offended you in the past - I take it back and I apologise. I've lost count of the number of folks I've had brutal e-duels with on here. |
Re: Yoruba Commonwealth and Politics by Katsumoto: 2:04pm On Nov 18, 2015 |
Aareonakakanfo: So you just want to discuss ideas in theory? How is it possible to improve the commonwealth without challenging the status quo? Not saying this should be the only topic but avoiding or postponing it is unproductive. If you ignore it, how will their lieutenants here tell them what is going on? |
Re: Yoruba Commonwealth and Politics by Shymm3x: 2:07pm On Nov 18, 2015 |
Aareonakakanfo: Loool. Yes, I definitely would have loved to post gifs on there and perhaps put the snakey guy playing both sides in check. It's over for now, till more juicy details start coming through. Too bad I missed most of the exhibits. Things are happening. I'm waiting for TerraCotta and Katsumoto to finish their debate, before we move to football. We need to discuss why Yorubas aren't producing footballing talents in Nigeria, since there are loads of Yoruba footballers in other countries that are far better than those playing for the Super Eagles. |

IyaIode: Lool. I actually love Nigeria more than most folks. Love Nigeria so much, I've got a tattoo of Nigeria on my body and that's permanent. However, the fact that nothing works in the country is just troubling and all I do is proffer solutions about the best alternative the best way I can since the country isn't working. Though passion does get in the way sometimes. 1 Like |

Re: Yoruba Commonwealth and Politics by StuntingBlack(m): 2:40pm On Nov 18, 2015 |
Katsumoto: To be frank, I burn with rage sometimes when I realize that a good number of us WILL never jettison the idea of a 'justified' political arson against their family members or benefactors that feed fat on the sufferings we face. But what can a man do other than keep burning with rage? And do you know the funny stuff in this is that many if us will rather think of fleeing our fatherland INSTEAD of think of ways to contribute to an emergency solution. There's this colleague of mine who will always sound it right in my ears that he can never be involved in nation building because some set of peole will still come back and destroy the same nation he helped build. Sometimes he tells me : "Where is the pride in been a Yoruba when you have no life to show for it? " I tell you Katz, as trivial as that question can be, there is a whole HELL OF WEIGHT in it. On realizing that even we the same Youth will be the ones ending up going againsts the throats of each other in defence of these crooks called leaders, I WAS SHUT UP BY HIS QUESTION.! The present reality is that even we the serious ones will find it extremely hard to lead a radical change (not that of the useless APC even though I voted APC). Left to me, there are only 2 ways to build the SW and consolidate the Sage's legacy: 1. Through a massive youth support of tested and trusted leaders. Trust me, if a situation where more than 70% Yoruba youths agree with one voice arises, THESE THIEVES WILL BE DONE FOR. As things stand, Fashola is the only man most people can vouch for, but alas, does Fashola even have the numbers in terms if Youth support talk less the whole Yoruba pooulace? 2. Through a temporary military junta that will clear the corrupt politicians. I am sure you will understand my point here. This process involves a short-lived military regime that will make so many wide range of delicate changes involving: -Suspend the constitution and develop a new constitution that will mimick that of developed countries, albeit tailored to suit what will work fir us as Africans. -Seize the passports of most corrupt politicians -Confiscate their assets or execute them if they prove too difficult to handle. -Change the system of voting (that will enable voters choose the man and not the party) , the executive, judicial and legislative systems ..... and so on. A short 4-year transition regime that achieves these things mentioned above will do wonders men!! BUUUUUUUUUUT, No lieing, Its far more complex (BUT PLAUSIBLE) than words of mouth Katz, I gatta admit !! |
