Thanks. I'm wondering why not for the in built navigation whereas I am just researching and discovering now that portable ones can be updated with African maps but at a cost on the GPS Manufacturer's website.

I've noticed that the 2nd gen lexus gs300 I.e the 1998 to 2004 model is soo scarce in the auto section, is it that the car has problems scarcity or what.

My lexus rx 300, '99 model is emitting black smoke continually. I did scanning and I got the following
report:

P0171- System too lean Bank 1
P0100- Mass or volume air flow A circuit
C0301- Please refer to vehicle service maual
P0141- O2 sensor heater cirucit Bank 1 sensor 2
P0441- Evaporative emission system incorrect
purge flow
P0446- Evaporative emission system vent control
circuit.
After clearing, only P0171 and P0141 were
showing.

Please I need your suggestions and ideas on
fixing the problem.

My MAF sensor reads 0.01 when the live
performance was checked. I tried two different
tokunbo MAF sensors but the smoke was still
coming out. So, I am guessing it's either not a
problem of the MAF sensor, or the tokunbo MAF
sensors are not okay themselves.

I was advised to change all sensors. However, since the system is said to be too lean on bank 1, I thought I should change only the sensor 1 on bank 1, since sensor 2 was never there when I bought the car and it didn't smoke. As regards the location of sensor 1 Bank 1, I guess it's on the exhaust, underneath the car, right?

Good morning bro, in respect to this complaint, I gave you directions to go thru this thread, hoping you've done that, here is the reply and guide I gave you to follow

Its good you took note of the codes then erase them. However, drive for a minimum of 50km and rescan for any codes.
That said, tackle the P0171, and the P0141
C0301 isn't a lexus DTC code. However, P0301 is a generic code which means cylinder 1 misfire detected.

P0171 means your intake system, your PCV, your EGR etc is dirty. Replace the air filter, check air intake hoses for breakage or leaks, if any, replace the hose. Use clips to securely tie any expanded hose. clean throttle body, (dont use your hand to touch the butterfly valve) PCV and EGR, clean MAF if dirty. Replace intake manifold plenum, if all these isn't working (which I know would work 90% of times) do a LTFT and STFT test before you replace A/F sensor Bank 1 Sensor 1,
as for the P0141, replace the O2 sensor Bank 1 Sensor2 after the LTFT and STFT diagnosis.

Check the pump and solenoid valve.This error is usually linked to your air suspension module.

I have an issue with my Rx300.
I was driving back home when suddenly my steering became very stiff.I managed to manoeuvre and park the car for checks.
I discovered that my steering oil was empty to my amazement even though it was not so when I conducted prestart checks in the morning.
I bought holts power steering fluid to refill only for me to observe it leaks out entirely after I switch on my ignition.

I managed to drive the car with a stiff steering to my mechanic who said my power steering beam/rack is bad and he gave me two options

1.a refit that would cost about 20k

2. procure a tokumbo power steering rack for about 40k but I'm made to understand that some of these tokumbo power steering rack are refitted.

Here are my questions.

a)Is the price for a tokumbo power steering that expensive or my mechanic is trying to hammer from my misery.

b)should I go for the refit since there's a chance I'll be buying a refit if I decide to get a replacement, how advisable is it to do a refit

please note this car is in Warri and all prices are from Warri spare parts market and the power steering pump has been disconnected allowing me drive the stiff car in manual mode pending when I decide on what to do, is this advisable

Case 2)Prior to the stiff steering incident, I realized my gear always got stuck in P no matter what I did. I made a small search on Google only to discover that the most likely reason would be a faulty break switch and temporary solution was to press the white button above the gear selector.I was able to take the care to my electrician who managed to get it working but didn't change the brake switch.my guess is that he bypasses the switch.after wards I realized that my brake lights now come on but occasionally I do get the gear selector stuck on P.

How much is a brake switch or should I continue to manage the bypass?

Can I get a trusted honest contact of someone in ladipo market Lagos who can help me find out the true cost of a 2001 Lexus Rx300 power steering rack as well as a brake switch

Hello guys, I drive 2003 Rx 300.... sometimes when I start it in the mornin I see something like blue smoke and it's stop after some minute and the engine will start steaming and I also notice it short oil and one of plugs always die...... please help as my mechanic is suggesting I get another engine but the car still fire well and it's always good to go
