Why would MTN feel above the law wherever they go? The rule of any business is to satisfy allll stakeholder, and when interest conflict, be fair to all. Government is one of their stakeholder as important as owners and customers. MTN should come down from their high horse, I won't like my service provider to go down just like that!! |

It seems MTN is overdoing it. U've got to imbibe the spirit of competition, not just to encroach a host country and kill all the local but growing industries. #recieveSense 1 Like |

Acidosis: rman: I hate to be the bearer of bad news but you both are actually wrong. This has little to do with Contextual environment (PEST) analysis, Business/Marketing or Porters 5 forces (Competitive environment analysis), which are the subject matters I lecture on as a PT associate professor at a business school in Amsterdam. This has more to do with anti-trust laws and regulations which are quite complicated, but in short are there to ensure that the market and especially the consumers have a fair playing field as well competitors. I wont claim to know the details because you cant base on a short summary, but it seems that MTN was not playing fair and I applaud this as it shows that Africa is moving towards a developed business environment. 10 Likes 1 Share |

PBundles: Oh No, that post has nothing to do with the fine. It's a response to a poster claiming and asking why MTN Sim cards were sold at N30,000 some years back. I'm sure you'd agree to the fact that costing and pricing structure has to do with supplier capital, PEST, competition. |
