IlekeHD: We are already preparing for Obatala festival at my compound so my presence in Osun/Ife will be pretty much constant for the next two months. On my way to Ife tomorrow, I could hit Ejigbo from Ikire through Iwo to take photos - I really want to see the structure myself. |

CabbieAC: Iyato wa o. You cannot class Rakim, KRS One, Sean Price, Nas, Immortal Tech and my wife Rapsody etc (not in the league as the former) as rappers. It would mean bringing them down to the league of Soulja boi, Young thug, Rich homie Quan, Drake, 50, Lil Wayne post Carter II etc There's a big gap between both worlds. Section 80 na good work o but putting it in top 5 albums na extra. An album each from the 90s era before Kendrick go down cram your top 5 already. It appears you don't do Joe Budden - and Lloyd Banks, two most slept on acts in hiphop history.

IlekeHD: Lol not that o. Although I'm cravings twins badly but not from a random female. All nighters is in reference to the many vigils at the deity's temple. |

9jacrip: Lol maybe you sha but I will still classify all those guys you mentioned as rappers Maybe If you had mentioned macklemore, ehen I for gree Speaking of Section 80, we'll never appreciate that album until kendrick drops his mic.Its a 5 star classic for me Not a fan of Joe budden and Lloyd banks at aaall.Won gbiyanju rara Iya Agba check the link raumdeuter posted. The topic is on the front page |

Re: Yoruba Commonwealth and Politics by Nobody: 12:18am On Nov 20, 2015 |
CabbieAC: If you can DL Lloyd Banks' mixtapes - the cold corner series on datpiff.com Abeg look for Joe Budden's album, anyone even if the recent one or stream his new album: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=n72YbdBdbkM Here is Jigga's reasonable doubt album, a classic though: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=cNXYn7MVV28 Section 80. Na solid work, not anything near a classic. We haven't even mentioned J.Cole. That brother is also something else. |

Re: Yoruba Commonwealth and Politics by Nobody: 12:27am On Nov 20, 2015 |
9jacrip I've listened to reasonable doubt and didn't really enjoy it I don't like Jay-Z except a few songs from him I rate J-cole.I been forget add am to my list.I really like "Forbidden fruit" ft kendrick and "lost ones" Iya Agba listen to "Lost ones" and thank me later I'll try laying my hands on Joe budden once again but the ones wey I don hear before oo,I no like am |
Re: Yoruba Commonwealth and Politics by IlekeHD: 12:30am On Nov 20, 2015 |
CabbieAC: I love "Lost Ones", that's the song that made me fall in love with J. Cole. Drake is overrated. J.cole has the substance. I don't like JayZ. Listen to https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=40NanOJLdsk |
Re: Yoruba Commonwealth and Politics by Nobody: 12:33am On Nov 20, 2015 |
CabbieAC: Trust me, the Reasonable Doubt album is crazy since, judging by your mentions so far, you're all for the lyrical content. I wonder what Joe Budden joints you've listened to in the past. Budden is like the R&B content type rap artist - his songs are usually based on emotions from relationship with females to male friends, life struggles, family etc. very real dude I tell you - the best out of slaiughter house. I await this work

Re: Yoruba Commonwealth and Politics by Nobody: 12:40am On Nov 20, 2015 |
9jacrip yeah I love lyrical rappers and I forgot to mention the Wu tang clan The reason why rappers like Joe Budden and Jay z don't appeal to me is sound and delivery Iya Agba you wan dey whine me abi Dem tell you say I dey hear that kind song ? ehn Cinderella music I'm definitely looking forward to the Kendrick-Cole Collabo |
Re: Yoruba Commonwealth and Politics by Nobody: 12:51am On Nov 20, 2015 |
CabbieAC: Delivery? Lloyd Banks sort of lacks this but definitely not Budden or uncle Jigga. WuTang baby! Chet! My favourite from that group is Tical (I can't get enough of this man's work even the black out series with Reggie - Redman), followed by GFKilla and then Raekwon. The others na tiaun. I still jam to that C.R.E.A.M track and the Inspecta Deck's verse is still a classic like Big Noyd's verse on Mobb Deep's 'Burn' track.

CabbieAC: Uneasy about discussing sports? Why? Obviously, questions have to been asked about why Yorubas in Nigeria aren't excelling in sports like the ones in diaspora. |
