My Sch- UoM does, UoS does, UoNB does, and I know ppl in d mentioned schools.. That whoever u know didn't get in doesn't mean what u stated is a FACT, that's why I queried ur source. Pls don't discourage ppl. It's more difficult to get into a Masters Prog in Nursing as an intl student than it is for an undergrad prog cuz most unis require u to b licensed to practice for the former, but not for the BSN prog cuz they all get into pre-nursing first which is not hard to get into.

Na lie... Masters of Nursing is pretty easier... Go to the help desk at Helen Glass to check the facts

I doubt if u r a UoM Nursing student, cuz u'll know d CoN just started accepting intl grad students of recent. It used to be only citizens and PRs. Tell me when u wanna meet me up so u can show me how many intl students u know in d MN prog, Mr Otunba.

You stand a good chance of gaining admission in University of Alberta. Maybe you didn't go through their requirements well. As far as I know the minimum academic requirement for Nigerian applicant is a second class upper and you said you have a GPA of 3.59/5.0 which makes you eligible to apply. Please go ahead and apply since you already have a professor that would supervise you. If you need more info on U of A please don't hesitate to contact me. University of Alberta is among the top schools in the world.

Haba!.. did you bother to check if the 3.59 is up to 3.0 on a 4.0 scale?... don't forget that some universities only consider the last two years of studies

Write to the high commission office where your application was submitted, and inform them that it is impossible for you to undergo the medical test at the offices of the DMPs in your place of application. Tell them where you are and if it is possible to check in with any designated medical practitioner of CIC in that country.

In a message they sent to me for further medical tests, I was told to tell them if I cannot make it to the office of former panel physician who initially attended to me.

I think writing them will give you a clear direction.

All the best!

thanks

I have read situations here where they gave 30days and didn't even wait for 14days to be over before refusing sb..Some medical call carry diff periods bt I like to go with the lowest which is 14days. If its possible to do it there, then why not? $400 is the price u have to pay then pay it bt if u wanna wait till 9th dec, its still fine. Bt be ready for any outcome.

Really? many thanks.

I'm also in same scenario at the moment. I have to traveled as my wife just put to bed. There are some centre in Chicago, so will call them 2moro for more detailed information on cost and procedure.
Any guru in the house with better opinion ? help please!!!!

Anyone with different opinion, plsssss.

Received medical mail 16th of Nov. and a leeway of 30 days. Called the centre and was told it will cost around $400

Do think i should go do it in Lagos as I'll be Nigeria 9th of Dec, or do it do it here in the state?

Please guys what do you think?

Thank you all.

If it is still 30-days of expiring. And you do not have the $400 to run the medical at Chicago, I suggest you should wait until yo return back to Nigeria and have it done. $400 is quite expensive when you can do it at IOM for N28,000. Or other recognized physician in the country.

Re: Travelling To Canada Part 9 by mine42: 5:35pm On Nov 20, 2015
Just confirmed this:
Only a doctor authorized by CIC can do the immigration medical exam. This doctor is referred to as a panel physician. You cannot choose your family doctor if his or her name is not on this list. Here is some other information on Panel Physicians and the exam.

You can choose a panel physician anywhere in the world, even if the panel physician is not in your country of residence.
You must pay for the medical exam, and the cost can differ from one doctor to another.
You should confirm what you need to bring to your medical exam when you contact the panel physician’s office to make an appointment.

hmmm.

Hello house smileygood news. I just received an offer from Univ of Alberta Msc pharmaceutical science. I had lost hope after being told that my gpa was too low at 3.59, the professor who will be my supervisor did his best to get me in and has even given me a research topic grin
Thing is I have even paid tuition deposit for a private career college via wire transfer since last week Wednesday but the school is yet to receive it. Does anybody know how long UBA wire transfer usually take?

Call their international office and ask them. Pretend as if you don't know u got the offer letter. They will tell u whether they have sent u an offer letter or not. But I doubt itz scam cos uk uni's don't take long to issue out an offer as long as u meet their requirements. My suggestion

Hey, try uni of Ottawa. And u of Waterloo. Those schools are kinda lenient on the requirements and are of course canada's top spots.

Thanks. I have been accepted by U of Alberta. My supervisor really wanted to work with me. To God be the glory.
