Like I said on other media, kogites are at the horns of delima. Since democracy kogites have continued the endless suffering, intimidation and backwardness. This should have been a time for Change, not by party but person.. Especially him with the true love of kogites and their redemption. Both main struggle is between past governors in whose hands they have all suffered statistically. It's all about placing kogi under observation again for the next tenure. 1 Like |

The election is actually between Wada and Audu and whoever wins, as far as am concerned, kogi is in trouble for the next 4 years. Am not from kogi but relocated to the state about 4 years ago after I got married to someone from here. I live in the state capital and must confess it's the worst state capital I've ever seen. No single development I can point out. The state capital has only one major road which they cannot even maintain! I will be happy if whoever wins disappoints me with regards to my expectations but till then........#fingerscrossed# 3 Likes |

#Kogi #Election: No PVC, No Voting- INEC Insists #KogiDecides In an exclusive interview with Naij.com, the REC, Mr Halilu Pia reiterated the slogan of the commission. “All eligible voters should come out and vote. We have this slogan no PVC no voting. They should conduct themselves in a peaceful and orderly manner,” he said... On the level of preparation for the election, the REC said the commission has done all within its capacity to have a hitch-free election. Pai said the commission has commenced distribution of both sensitive and non sensitive materials to the 239 registration centres in the state while smart cards have been configured and are now ready for deployment. “In the area of personnel, we have recruited 12,448 adhoc staff with different roles. Some as presiding officers; assistant presiding officers and collation officers. We have also posted them to various areas. “We have trained them this time for longer period. We’ve sourced and recruited 239 experts that will go around the wards to ensure whatever hitch they have is quickly rectified. We’ve also deployed monitors from the national headquarters, the state and at the local government. We have resident electoral commissioners with five of his staff in his state to ensure effective supervision and that staff adhere strictly to rules,’’ the REC said. To help easy movement of the adhoc Pai said the commission has signed a memorandum of understanding with the Nigeria Union of Road Transport Workers to enable the officials deliver adequately and timely. We’ve also made similar arrangement with okada riders for places where there are no accessible roads. To avoid lateness, we have 239 rank centres where the personnel would pass the night and move to their various polling units,’’ he said. Pai admonished voters to comport themselves and bear it in mind that the exercise is a competition and not a war. “People should not make up their mind to make the election do or die affair. If you loose today there will be another day. If you don’t win today another four years is right in the corner. They should ensure they adhere to the rules of the electoral acts,” Pai concluded. Kogi state resident are expected to come out enmasse today, November 21, to choose the person that will lead the affairs of the state for the next four years. The major contenders in the poll is the incumbent governor of the state, Idris Wada of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) and Prince Abubakar Audu of the All Progressive Congress (APC) Meanwhile, the Police yesterday, November 20, said it uncovered plots by some unknown persons to “smuggle in” thugs and ammunitions with the intention to disrupt today’s poll in the state. Good morning beautiful and handsome peeps on this forum especially my fellow Kogites. The day has finally come, the hour is upon us and we are just few moments away from making transition from what is obtainable to what is desirable. The perfect platform to reposition our dear state and decide our destiny and that of prosterity is right here before us. If we get it wrong this time around then we can only have ourselves to blame for whatever predicament that would befall the state in the next four years. If the enormity of your commitment to see Kogi State on the rise is as much as mine, then we can collectively via our PVC decide the fate of Kogi today at the poll. One mustn't have a Degree in Political Science before s/he can tell that Kogi State is bleeding to death already and/or that the state has been on a life support since Wada came into office. I am not here to campaign in support of any candidate but to remind us of the gravity of whatever decision we are going to make today at the poll. Kogi and Kogites deserve the best in terms of governance and that we must ensure it comes to pass in the next four years. Enough of the retrogression or stagnation, it is time we take our rightful place in the hall of governance and begin to reap the fruit thereof. Lastly, VOTE NOT FIGHT. No politician out there deserve your blood. They have their interest at heart first before that of you and I. Don't allow yourself to be used as a sacrificial lamb, they don't deserve it one bit. 1 Like |
