Enyinne: All the immunizations, you can get them from your nearest hosp but everyone I know says a local govt health centre is the best because the batches are exhausted once they are opened. Once you are settled in you take BCG (against TB) immediately you get to 9ja, then there is OPV and Penta at 6 weeks, for Rotavirus and Pneumococcal, you have to go to a private hosp and pay up to 20k for both. You will receive an immunization card, which you must keep very safe at all times. If you decide to use health centre, be prepared to spend the whole day waiting in line, and you should try to get there very early. |

Enyinne: At birth, you are suppose to give your baby BCG, Hep B and OPV. In the US the give Hep B, so the remaining two that's BCG and OPV should be given to baby immediately you return. The will give ur baby a card that has the immunization schedule. Please ensure your baby takes all even the optional ones, it won't make sense to spend money in America and come back and not give your baby all the vaccines listed. |

In the spirit of giving back... I had a successful ATL POE, landed 5:38 in Atl, I used wheel chair services all the way... Please I'll advice you do so, it was stress free and everything was done for me. We got to the Poe and all of a sudden the network went down for about 1hr, then it started working and they were in a haste to pass people. It got to my turn and I was wheeled to the cbp officer, the questions are in no particular order. Cbp: is this your first time here? Me: yes Cbp: how long will you be staying? Me: 76 days( he didn't hear me well) Cbp: why are you here? Me: childbirth, vacation and to take my maternity leave. Cbp: how much do you have on you?how much is in your account currently too? Me: I told him Cbp:will that be enough? do you have your cards with you? Me: I said yes Cbp: are you married? Me: yes Cbp:do you have kids Me: no! I am expecting. Cbp: so you are here to give birth, thought you said 7days and why did have you chosen the us? Me: I said yes and I told him I said 76days and because of better medical service. Cbp: have you lost any before Me: yes Cbp: have you contacted any doctor? Me: yes. Cbp: when are you due? Me: told him Cbp: where will you be going? Me: Chicago and then Kansas Cbp: where is the Kansas address. Me: gave him the invitation letter my aunt gave me. Cbp: *makes a call* stamps my passport for b2 till may 2016 and said good luck. Me: I said isn't someone going to wheel me? Cbp: he signaled someone and I was wheeled No document asked. Key is to remain calm and confident. Thanks to everyone who suggested and adviced. Now the search for cheap hospital begins... Please has anyone driven in Chicago with Nigerian driver's license? How do I go about renting a car here? Cause the weather is too cold to stand for long waiting for a train or bus! It's snowing here!!! Cold ooh 14 Likes 1 Share |

My dear! Don't wait for them to ask you, immediately you get to their table, bring out all your documents and even if they don't ask you, offer to show them, from my experience oh! I didn't wait, I showed and I was telling him things he didn't ask and was backing it with documents...Also you can write on your form that you have strong ties and you have a good job, if you have property add it too... Then pray, only God can do it olorieka: 1 Like |

Re: Give Birth In USA: Cost And Procedures Part 3 by ozycy: 1:35pm On Nov 22, 2015 |
Enyinne:First of all is Bcg, it's very important. It's usually given after birth or as soon as possible here in NAIJA. |

olorieka:That is not a guarantee. Prepare yourself and gather your burden of proof. Fill your form well, and explain why you were refused on the space provided for it. Also write anything that you thing may help. |

Lol...my preferred Dr who I used last year for my first baby has almost doubled his fee. So I thot i'd just try a new hospital entirely that's cheaper & Oakbend seems to be okay. Will make a final decision after I visit Oakbend tho...fingers crossed anonymousmum: |

olorieka:You never answered if you had used an agent for your visa application before. If yes, am sorry you may be refused again cos of possible misrepresentation but if no, fill your DS form in details. Explain why you think you were rejected 3 times and how your condition has changed. Note that a visa is either given/not given based on information supplied in the form. A robust account may not guarantee a visa. In my case, bank statements weren't asked for. No document was asked for only my passport. Be truthful, confident and Prayerful. I'll try and analyze your last transcript. Brb 2 Likes |

[quote author=olorieka post=40281078]Congrats plz can you share your transcript as I was denied in Lagos early sis month Well wen we got there the v.o that rejected us before was the same one that out turn fell on. So we went to his cubicle nd he collected our passport nd scanned. And he said sorry I can't interview u because I've interviewed u before that we should wait for another Vo. Meanwhile I think that day wasn't a good day for all of them because they kept rejecting people they even rejected some lebanise sef. With gladness in my heart I went to sit waiting for the next Vo. So it was our turn with another v.o it went like this.... Vo- hello Dh/ me- Hi Vo- I see u were rejected before Dh - yeah buh reasons not known Vo- what re u going to do in the US if I may ask Dh- for me vacation nd to experience the birth of my child Vo- u mam Me- childbirth vo- have u travelled before mam Me- no I've not Vo- have u travelled before sir Dh- yes but only around africa vo- where do u work referring to hubby Dh- xyz vo- how much do u earn? Dh- xyz vo- kk and u mam Me- blah blah blah as blah blah blah earn xyz vo- I guess hubby's sponsoring the trip Me - yes after checking hubby's statement of account. vo- why do u want to birth in the us? Dh- After the bad experience of delivering the first child here in Nigeria I promised her she will get the best medical treatment nd experts on delivery of the second child in the US, so this is me trying to fulfill my promise (with smiles on hubby's face) of course the vo replied with a smile too. vo- have u gotten a doctor? Can I have the correspondence that if u have any Dh- of course! Showed him, along side with receipts of half payments of both hospital nd doctor's fee. Including budget sheet and appointment letter with doctor. vo- I see ure prepared and ready to keep ur promise with smiles. Dh - oh yes replying with a smile. vo- y did u choose this hospital and the doctor Dh- a friend recommended her and the hospital is the only hospital she is affiliated to. vo- ur friend birthed in the US too? Me- yes vo. Nodded and Type type and typed for like 3 min called another colleague in, off his mic while they talk so that we can't hear wat they are discussing only God knows. She left he turns d mic on again Dh nd I speaking in tongue in our minds.lol Vo- where do u meet asking I nd hubby Dh nd I- smiled to ourselves looking at him nd said church (uniformly) vo- oh I see Vo- where did u school did u school in the US Dh- no I schooled here in Nigeria Vo- what does ur dad do? Asking hubby Dh- he' a blah blah blah vo- kk. Typed nd typed like forever...... then issued the almighty white paper. The next news we heard was ur visa will be ready in 2-3 working days pick it up in the address filled on ur form. Just to add this. We where the last ppl in the hall been interviewed every other ppl had left even the v.o's has closed for the day nd the ye ye vo that refused us the last time kept coming to the cubicle of the one interviewing us me I wasn't sha comfortable as if I should ask him wat he was doing there. Lol pretty hormone hubby noticed I wasn't fyn with that he was just calming me down lol buh it ended in praise. That I'm grateful to God for nd to firstymum, tvegas for encouraging moi. Nd to all my ppl that shared their interview stories so that we could learn u guys rocked! Good luck to all waiting for their own interview it will end in praise. 14 Likes |
