Please Is It Degrading For A Lawyer To Become A Hair Dresser? by goodgirl2409: 11:57pm On Nov 23, 2015
I have a friend who is a lawyer but have not been able to get a job. She is considering that since she can make hair well, she should go into hairdressing. She doesn't actually have a salon, she just gets recommended by people she has made hair for before. However, she feels it is degrading for a whole lawyer to be making peoples hair around. She feels like a curse is working against her that is why she is ending up a hair dresser after all the stress of 7 years in trying to become a lawyer. Well,I told her I didn't see it as degrading or as a curse and that she could do it to make a living till she gets her dream job. So what's your opinion,is making hair degrading for a graduate talkless of a lawyer? Let's give reasonable advice so others can learn from it. Thank u.

There's nothing degrading about it. Her being a lawyer should help her add class to the whole thing and better relate with her customers. I also have a lawyer friend who's owns a boutique. It's not actually compulsory that she must practice.
Please tell her to follow her passion and in the end she will be glad she did, Cheers...

If hunger fire her very well, nobody will tell her to be plaiting police cap style for her street kids. One of my graduate friends without a job decided to start sewage evacuation business. He now own a truck and he is moving to his personal house by December. Sit down there dey live fake life. Barrister ko, kollington ni

For me no, it's not degrading...look she is not alone having difficulties finding a job after graduating with her degree...so many engineers and nurses and even teachers landed with different jobs & I am one of them...
In this world, only survivors will survive...don't care what ppol say as long u make a decent job for a living & from there, anyone can step up her game... grin

For a lawyer she doesn't sound very logical. I bet she'll end up being one of those legal aid lawyers that gets paid with a "thanks".

How is her making hair a permanent situation? Better a lawyer with some kind of a job to a broke lawyer with only pride in the pocket. If you go to restaurants, you'll find that most of the waiting staff are graduates waiting to get better jobs, but since time is money, they do menial jobs just to keep busy & yes, make some money. A degree without a job is just a paper, just not the kind of paper that pays for rent. She needs to stop the "airs" & start doing hair, for now, something better will come up. Plus hair dressing just like other people-oriented jobs, is a way to socialise. She might meet someone that knows someone who knows someone with some connections to something that may kick start her career.

Well, when u considered the stress and pain you undergo to get those qualification, you will not buy to the idea of becoming hairdresser, but the primary motive of ur educational status is to put food on the table and class you among the elites....my sister you can become an outstanding professional hairdresser if u give it a second thoughts, you have what it take to succeed because of your educational background...
