Hello Hauz, Thanks to all contributors here. I have taken time to go through all parts of this educative thread. For those that have used Emergency Travel Certificate (ETC), can you kindly share how it works and the advantage it presents over going for a Nigerian Visa or passport. Not much has been discussed about it although it appears cheaper than the VISA option from what I have read. Are there any special requirements to use it and are there any implications that may arise later if it is used? |

LI: I think you should insist that your infants ticket be added to yours, afterall will they sell an infant ticket without an accompanying adult? They are just trying to out smart you! |
Re: Give Birth In USA: Cost And Procedures Part 3 by Nogen: 9:15pm On Nov 24, 2015 |
abanzi: No implications except if you didn't make a copy of the ETC before submitting to the Nigeria Immigration in Lagos or Abuja. You will need the photocopy when you go for your child's Nigerian passport here in Nigeria. |

LI: If you bought your ticket from wakanow, they are the ones to add ur infant for you. Contact them again and tell them BA said its ur agent that ll do the addition. I bought my ticket from wakanow last December and when i wanted to add my baby in Feb,BA said i should contact wakanow but wakanow gave me a high quote so i ignored them and kept pestering BA to do the addition for me. One of the Customer Service reps on BA later did the addition for me over the phone and asked me to pay at the airport. I got to the airport on my departure date and they didnt find my baby's name on my itinerary. I missed the flight on that day while trying to resolve the issue. I later called BA on the same day and another rep said its wakanow that should ve done the addition and thats why my baby's name didnt appear on the flight list. The rep later rebooked me for another flight and made every effort to add my baby cos i started crying on the phone that i was now stranded in US with a 6week old.Lool Moral of the story: Please call Wakanow again. 3 Likes |

From the quote below, it means the BA reps can actually do it. Many of them just do not know how to or rather, choose not to. I called Wakanow and they said they don't even issue BA tickets anymore. I hope this doesn't result in a messy situation. customised87: |
