Senegal a country with a 98% Muslim population recently banned the wearing of hijabs. In Northern Cameroon which is another Muslim majority region, the wearing of the Hijab has been banned. The NYSC ban is only meant to be in place at orientation camps to prevent the infiltration of terrorists, and yet Nigerian Muslims are being more Islamic than others. The orientation camp is only meant to last a few weeks.Meanwhile, you ragheads have the rest of your lives to wear your hijabs, so why not make that TEMPORARY sacrifice in the interest of national security, instead of whipping up stupid sentiments? 10 Likes 1 Share |

personal59: La wa oh! If you want to move to this direction then answer all these questions for me: - why are Arabic writings used on our army symbol and our currencies when it's only Muslims that understand them? - why are all our defence ministries, training centres, etc all situated in the north with about 50-70% of admitted persons from the Muslim north? - why are Muslims predominant in ministries, civil service, etc, even when a Christian is President of this country? - why is it that the Northern Muslims are the ones that mostly enjoy quota system in the educational sector of the country? 5 Likes 1 Share |

Religious bigots/extremists call it infringement of human right maybe they should consult their dictionary to understand the meaning of human rights. Subjecting their women to wear hijab is it not an infringement of their human right. Africans are too religious. 5 Likes |

cathodekazim: what i am saying is that islam is not a tolerant religion. how many churches are allowed in saudi arabia? none. do you know that one of your biggest mosques in the world is built in Rome seat of christianity can u explain to us what the satanic verses are? read the life of Jesus of Nazareth founder of Christianity and the life of Mohammed founder of Islam. compare and contrast. which of the two carried sword and converted people by force? which one derived pleasure from sleeping with a 9year old girl? which one went to war and took slaves and had multiple wives, treating women like a chattel? which one said "love your enemies and pray for them that persecute you", and which one said "kill all infidels. whoever dies in the battle against infidels will be given 99 virgins in al jana"? now which one is a religion of lies and deceit 13 Likes 3 Shares |

It will not be good to be sentimental and will be unfair if we continue to sacrifice innocent lives on the altar of any religion. Doing away with long hijab for 3 weeks should never be difficult for any genuine Muslim in the orientation camp. You are there to be trained on how to serve your fatherland and not to be religious and as such, you must be ready to imbibe all that will enable you serve well. As a youth corps member, you are to put the nation first in all you do, religion inclusive. 3 Likes 1 Share |

Why do we saddled ourselves with this extreme view of religion. I have always believed that its the government that is encouraging these extreme views on religion by going all the way in funding, participating and undertaking sone religious obligations that should have been left to the individual. |

babajeje123: So you think you are not been sentimental with this your warp logic of right to life of over right to freedom,or don't you think both are germaine to human existence? Sometime, some of you decide to stand truth on its head just to justify your unexplainable "truth".in as much as constitution nd african charter give both right the same level of recognition, then it must be protected. If we go by the way of your reasoning and ban the use of hijab in public places,we should also be ready to ban the use of cars, okada etc cos they are also used by BH to commit the dastard act |

Ioannes:bro read and diggest this First Crusade (1096–1099) and immediate aftermath Main articles: First Crusade, People's Crusade, Siege of Jerusalem (1099), Crusade of 1101, Norwegian Crusade and Bohemond I of Antioch § Wars between Antioch and the Byzantine Empire See also: Persecution of Jews in the First Crusade Route of the First Crusade through Asia Pope Urban II in Rome in 1095 received an ambassador from Byzantine Emperor Alexios I in Constantinople seeking urgent help against the Turkish threat. The pope acted promptly and called a crusade with the goals of securing access to the Holy Sites. Historian Paul Everett Pierson says he also "hoped that if the crusaders aided the Eastern Church by defeating the Turks, the Church would be reunited under his leadership.[55] Inspired by Pope Urban II's preaching, Peter the Hermit led as many as 20,000 people, mostly peasants, to the Holy Land shortly after Easter 1096.[56] When they arrived in Germany in spring 1096, units of crusaders commenced the Rhineland massacres in the cities of Speyer, Worms, Mainz and Cologne, despite the efforts by Catholic bishops to protect the Jews. Major leaders included Emicho and Peter the Hermit. The range of anti-Jewish activity was broad, extending from limited, spontaneous violence to full-scale military attacks on the Jewish communities of Mainz and Cologne.[57] This was the first major outbreak of anti-Jewish violence in Europe and was cited by 19th-century Zionists as showing the need for a Jewish state.[58] When the group finally reached the Byzantine Empire, Emperor Alexios urged them to wait for the western nobles, but they insisted upon proceeding and fell to a Turkish ambush outside Nicaea, from which only about 3,000 people escaped.[59] The official crusader armies departed from France and Italy in August and September 1096. The bulk of the army divided into four parts, which travelled separately to Constantinople.[60][61] With non-combatants included, the western forces may have contained as many as 100,000 people.[62] The armies journeyed eastward by land toward Constantinople, where they received a wary welcome from the Byzantine Emperor.[63] The main army, mostly comprising French and Norman knights under baronial leadership, pledged to restore lost territories to the empire and marched south through Anatolia.[64][65][66] The leaders of the First Crusade included Godfrey of Bouillon, Robert Curthose, Hugh of Vermandois, Baldwin of Bouillon, Tancred de Hauteville, Raymond of Toulouse, Bohemond of Taranto, Robert II, Count of Flanders, and Stephen, Count of Blois. The king of France and Henry IV, Holy Roman Emperor, were in conflict with the Pope and did not participate.[67] The crusader armies initially fought the Turks at the lengthy Siege of Antioch, which began in October 1097 and lasted until June 1098. When they entered Antioch, the crusaders massacred the Muslim inhabitants and pillaged the city. However, a large Muslim army led by Kerbogha immediately besieged the victorious crusaders, who were now inside Antioch. Bohemond of Taranto successfully rallied the crusader army and defeated Kerbogha on 28 June.[68] Bohemond and his men retained control of the city, despite his pledge to Alexios.[69] Most of the remaining crusader army marched south, moving from town to town along the coast, finally reaching Jerusalem on 7 June 1099 with only a fraction of their original forces.[70] Jews and Muslims fought together to defend Jerusalem against the invading Franks, but the crusaders entered the city on 15 July 1099. They proceeded to massacre the remaining Jewish and Muslim civilians and also pillaged or destroyed mosques or the city itself.[71] In his Historia Francorum qui ceperunt Iherusalem, Raymond D'Aguilers exalted actions which would be considered atrocities from a modern viewpoint.[72] As a result of the First Crusade, four primary crusader states were created: Edessa, Antioch, Tripoli, and Jerusalem.[73] On a popular level, the First Crusade unleashed a wave of impassioned, pious Catholic fury which was expressed in the massacres of Jews that accompanied the crusades[74] and the violent treatment of the "schismatic" Orthodox Christians of the east.[75] Following the First Crusade was a second, less successful crusade known as the Crusade of 1101, in which Turks led by Kilij Arslan defeated the crusaders in three separate battles.[76] https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Crusades |
