greetings to you all mamas and mamas to be in d house....pls my 10 days old baby has not poo bm since today makes it five days.after 48 hours of birth we notice his eyes were becoming yellow so we took him to the hospital for bcg and the said he has jaundice and placed him on augmentene which we just completed and the eyes are 90% cleared but the poo thing is disturbing me as he hardly sleep at nyt for sometime 2 to three hours awakes sucking and crying .what do I do.

My baby sleeps in his cot... But I know some mothers whose baby won't sleep there. I have a wooden cot in naija. But I had to buy graco cot so he starts sleeping in there... Which he's been doing. At least pending when I'm back in naija.

Is it watery poo?

Maybe a few teaspoons of garri water or a tea spoon of raw pap may help to stop the runny stool.

Also don't give her milk till the stool firms up!

Not watery but has some cattarh-like stuff in it, at times the stool will be much, other times it will be really small. I will stop milk for now. Thanks so much.

It's a bit too early for colic IMO. It is possible he's not getting enough bm in the 1st place hence the *incessant* crying and sucking.

He may also be generally uncomfortable with the environment which could cause lack of sleep! although generally at that age they don't sleep much. How many layers of clothes is he wearing? Is the room airy(shouldn't be too cold or windy oh)?

If you're extremely concerned by his not pooing maybe you should see a Dr.

6 days of taking aptamil 2 when he isn't '6months' yet is not that much of a big deal

If you flip it too taking aptamil 1 till the tin finishes even though he is already '6 months' is not that much of a big deal too

Good day to d mamas in the house. Pls I need a suggestion on WHAT and HOW to brush my 1year old baby's mouth. I've used gryciline bt my baby wl use his 7teeth to hold d cotton wool and won't lemme clean his tongue. I used tongue brush and tooth paste, same thing. Pls is there a better way to do it? My friend who is also a first time mom like me sed her mother adviced that she shdnt brush her baby's mouth until he's 3yrs old to avoid mouth odour bt my concern is dt my baby's tongue is white and am I suppose to leave it like dt?

I tried a creche few weeks ago and d following day may baby was admitted in the hospital for stooling and vomiting; because of this av nt taken him to creche again bt its nt being easy stayin all alone wt ma baby inside d house. I used them both diligently but still no change, sleeping has been very challenging for him cos the as soon as he lays down the cough n blocked nose won't let him rest.

Please I need tips on the best way to handle this I really feel for him and wish it can be transferred to me. Sorry for my long story

N then, d injection site is swollen are we supposed to rub/press it or leave it like BCG too? I've given him paracetamol. Pls it's urgent o, beautiful mothers. TIA

I know how it feels, its well sis
Steam inhalation wit silverbird or mentholatum helps relieve the congestion(add silver bird or mentholatum int a bowl or bucket of hot water and cover u both wit a blanket or cloth,pls b careful to avoid burns/spillage). U can apply shea butter(ori) to his chest and nose bridge after the inhalation and u can also use towel to mop his chest wit warm water b4 applying the ori.

Give paracetamol @ 6-8hrs interval, PLS DO NOT PRESS OR RUB the site
Yes u can bath wit nt too cold water
Apply ori(shea butter) lightly on it, the swelling wit reduce wit tym and the fussiness and fever too wil go within 2days
