SANDF has no bridge in Congo DRC.

Sea to shore ship to land artillery bombardment is done before amphibious landing IF coast is defended, many coasts are undefended too.

Normandy beach was blasted with ship to land artillery bombardment before Juno landing by amphibious vehicles. You claim to be in the navy and yet do not know what shore bombardment/fire support is grin

That's why you like to run away from me on this forum....when i crush ya ballz grin

1. Because we dont need a bridge?
2. Why are you talking about Amphibious operations? \

As usual you shift and slide like a snake... now you are talking about amphibious operations?

You are a very sad human being

Does your army carry bridges everywhere they go on the battle space like it's a backpack portable bridge? You carry bridges on your MRAPs?

I have never seen a photo of SANDF armoured vehicles in Congo or Sudan followed by loads and loads of trucks carrying bridges, your army did not even deploy bridge construction materials and engineers in Congo DRC, you deployed infantry only.

You want the enemy to wait for you to order aircraft lifting bridge building materials from Pretoria to arrive in 3 days? The enemy has already gained tactical battlefield advantage over you and crossed river Congo while SANDF is killed in their stranded and trapped position.

Also can you build bridges across the Atlantic ocean for amphibious landing when your ships are anchored 5 km away from sea shore to avoid enemy mortar and artillery fire? You ever see an army build pontoon bridge that long on an ocean?

My question is how come you crossed the river to the other side with tanks while you were spending and wasting days and days requesting your army HQ to send trucks and trucks and trucks loaded with heavy pieces of bridge construction equipment to be transported over long distance on off road rough terrain while your main army of armoured non-amphibious vehicles remain stranded and trapped at the river side unable to cross, while the enemy pursuing you from behind has caught up with you and demolished SANDF to be buried by Nigerian army at the lake side?

You say how come we are behind you on that side of the river? Okey then we are the ones on the other side of the river waiting for you with T-72 tanks armed with ERA armour and 125mm killer main gun !

Dunce, your foolish argument is claiming that your army is on the two sides of the river, you are building bridge to cross on the left river bank, yet you claim you are on the opposite side on the right river bank waiting with tanks.....fool, only you spread all over the battle space like termites? Where is the enemy position then ?

Stop wasting my time, South Africa has A BIG TACTICAL DEFICIENCY with no amphibious armoured vehicles, stop twisting military doctrinal and tactical facts, I am a trained battlefield simulator, stop arguing blindly with me. Accept free education from Nigeria and learn .

Only the fools of South Africa will build a tactical combat bridge across a huge ocean....nation of fools, no wonder your economy is crumbling.

Thats why we plan Augustine, If we know there will be large bodies of water, we will deploy extra Bridge layers that are carried on Samil Trucks, they can go anywhere that the rest of our vehicles go. As i said before its not like lake Victoria is going to pop up out of nowhere.

Dude we never had to build a bridge in the DRC, why would we send bridge layers when they are not necessary. If our mission requirements dictate that we need to build a bridge, then we will deploy bridge layers, as simple as that.

We dont have an amphibious assault ship, so how are we going to deploy amphibious vehicles in the first place?? Nigeria only has 1 LSV which can carry only 10 BTRs not much to boast about!

Why would we beg our HQ for supplies?? thats why you plan beforehand, we would have the necessary amount of Samil Bridge layers before we leave on our mission, there will be no need to beg anyone for extra supplies.

Ok so how are you in a different boat, if you needed to cross and the enemy is coming from behind, are you going to leave the rest of your non amphibious vehicles behind and try to escape using your amphibious vehicles sailing at 7km/h?? And if your enemy is on the other side waiting with Olifant Mk2s and Mk1bs are you going to engage them with your Cobra and Sagaie??

The only place were amphibious vehicles make a difference is during beach landings, but for any invasion by sea one needs air-support thus the invading force would need an Aircraft carrier, which no African country has!!

So now you are a trained battlefield simulator?? impressive, ive never met an Accountant/Military researcher/ battlefield simulator before!!

You want hard facts? You can always count on me.

Johannesburg - The graduation rate among undergraduate students in South Africa’s 23 public universities is 15 percent.

Your pass rate for mathematics for prequalification into university is less than 40%.
Only 11% of your pupils pass to make it to university level.

Despite the nationwide reduction of pass mark from 50% to 30% only 11% of south African kids pass mathematics. Lolz. This is the reason none of you _morons here can debate constructively. It is the reason I can't construct 2 sentences together with raining insults on you.

Acording to your own link it is 100. 60rpm is on the 3 shot burst. Aka 3 shots in rapid procession followed by pausess then 3 more.

Again neither one is a 30x173mm gun. The 30x173 is a slower firing gun but is far more accurate and powerful. The badger could sit 4000m away and fire accurate bursts destroying targets that will be firring all over. The odd shot that hits would just bounc off. The defence review even calls for this. Saying the mechnized force should engage any invader from maxim range.

Enemy IFV too have 4 km range on their 30mm cannon, so they hit you hack !

Ancient 1970s SANDF obsolete battle field tactics, I wish you were here two weeks ago when we say your army arrayed in battle like Rugby players on the football field with official lines drawn to separate them from the enemy.... Go read the comments on AMANI exercise on the other African military photo thread, but don't comment there , this is the thread for arguments.

No wonder SANDF uses that obsolete tactics, your army has been ordered by ministry of defence to always stay 4 km away from the enemy..... South Africans are cowards.....chicken soldiers afraid of death.

Fools of Pretoria, so your ministry for defence determine s how far away the enemy must stay away from SANDF in battle? Was Selena rebel force 4 km or 4,000 m away from you when they killed your soldiers with AK-47 rifle that had less 0.3 km or 300 m effective range? Olodo.

How did your Olifant tanks cross the river to wait for us on the other side, you have no amphibious vehicles and you need almost a whole day to build a bridge across.

Nigerian army Sagaie is an amphibious river swimming TANK DESTROYER, it fires. HEAT shells and SABOT anti-tank shells.

Also, Nigerian army has amphibious MT-LB armouredtransport vehicles so we can carry our Swingfire anti-tank missiles along to kill SANDF Olifant tanks easily.

Next Nigerian army can snorkel our T-72 tanks across the river to wipe out your army tanks.

We have a well balanced Nigerian army with a good mixture of different types of weapons and vehicles to do ANY TYPE OF COMBAT OPERSTIONS that South African army CANNOT do due to your lack of some battle field essentials. SANDF us inferior overall

-Seleka was never our enemy, our mission was to train Government troops and to protect the training group......Seleka attacking us is something no one could've predicted......In our scenario on the other we are fighting a conventional force with tanks and artillery, we know were the enemy is and we know what we will be facing and will thus deploy the necessary systems.

-Same why your T72s got to the other side!

-The Sagaie will struggle to destroy a T55, and stands no chance against a Olifant Mk2 or MK1B hell it wont even destroy a Centurion mk3.

-The MT-LB is just an APC its not a transported, how many swing-fire systems do you think you are going to fit in to a MT-LB.

-Snorkeling?? what happens when the lake/river has a depth of more than 5m?? And a another thing your T72 stands no chance against a Olifant mk1b/mk2, also you have less than 20 T72s as far as i know vs 170 Olifant Mk1b and MK2s + another 30 odd Mk1A which are equal to your T72s
