this will always happen if the borrower won't take its time to read the terms and conditions of securing such loans

nothing stops the microfinance institutions from taking what they feel is worth that amount and not just lock up the house

But what they took is more than that amount... So??

No body forced the woman to collect the loan. Again, she accepted their terms and conditions with the surety before she was given the loan. Why then did she bleached the contract because agreement is an agreement. When she was collecting the money, nairaland did not know when it was time to pay you defaulted them and starts making noise. What stopped her from paying the agreed amount/loan as at when due. After all, nobody forced u to collect the loan, u collected it with an open eye. Go and settle with them.

Remember that sometimes you run into more problems trying to enforce an agreement. I can assure you that by the time lawyers begin with the interpretation of the law and highlight breach of expected recovery processes, this bank will wish it never existed. The law usually have more softspot for the borrowers.

Chai! U de vex O! But seriously, the bank should be sanctioned by relevant regulatory agencies. Nigeria, a country like no other. Wahala de o!

Gboliwe:
What a tale!

If I weren't reading this from PM news I would have waved it off.

Like seriously? The bank "broke" into their house and carted away their belongings even if it's because of N1m?

Chai! I wish someone can sue the bank, it's owner, the workers, their neigbours and relatives sef angry

Sue the living, the dead and the upcoming generation angry

What kind of inhumanity is this? Some of us can't beat Buhari up because he is far, but I think transferring the anger on this bank is justifiable! What rubbish! angry

The man should sue the bank. From what i read he didn't enter into any form of agreement with the bank, only his wife did. The properties belong to him not his wife. So they should take only what belongs to the wife and not him. And if he is wise, everything in the house should belong to him not the wife.

Lagos state government should look into this useless micro finance operations. This's a very useless policy. This's just like trying to make money at all cost from people. What if they borrow someone money and they themselves made arrangement to rob the person either on the road when the person has just collected the money, that means, they'll just seize the person's property.

This's nothing but ''helping people and doing them at the same time''

somebody should pls call on ambode to look into that micro finance useless policy..
OK, I will call him
