Bros I was shocked when I was told by a prospective student, that he scored 250 but couldn't meet the anambra cut of mark, and I asked to explain, then he said that anambra indigene have to score higher to get admission in Unizik Awka! Can you imagine, he said that people from neighbouring state can score 220 and get admitted! Then I was very upset, I asked so the effort obi and obiano made and making in anambra state post primary education system is in futile! Is it our fault that we are intelligent? Or the govt did and doing more to improve our education?
Honestly, I never knew this useless policy is also applied to a federal institution in the state! I was very upset yesterday! I don't even know where to start! This thing must be abolished!!!!

As long as federal university is concern, quota system is always the order of the day.
They tend to place priority on education disadvantaged states.
This scenario is also affecting Imo indigenes.
In fact as at time I was at FUTO, owerri Imo indigenes normally have the highest cut of mark.
I can remember a situation where one Emeka had to claim Jigawa as his state of origin in order to get admission in FUTO.
This quota system is really killing every sector of this country.
It baffles me why merit will be sacrificed on the altar of mediocrity and federal character

Politicians are paid to stop lawless people from trading on Anambra roadside and other criminal activities but no one seems to care.Wonder why it's so difficult to defend simple law which they swore to do. Why not create space for private people to build attractive and inexpensive stuff like mini-markets, cornerstores, plazas etc on every street for these people and still tax and make money from them

Mother churches like the Catholics and Anglicans are the best in school running and impartation of the right knowledge and morals. Incidentally, Anglican and Catholic are the major churches in Anambra and it is paying off in heaps and bounds

Obiano wins Primary Education Friendly Governor Award

The Governor of Anambra State, Chief Willie Obiano has won the Most Primary Education Friendly Governor of the Year, 2015 award. Governor Obiano outshone other governors in the federation to clinch the award which was conferred on him recently by the Association of Primary School Head Teachers of Nigeria (AOPSHON).

Bestowing the award on Governor Obiano at the National Annual Workshop and Award Ceremony in Oshogbo, Osun State, the National President of AOPSHON, Alhaji Mahmud Lawal revealed that the choice of Obiano was unanimous because of his tremendous support to foundational education and his special love for teachers culminating in the regular payment of salaries as well as salary increment and other incentives to teaches in a time of recession.

Alhaji Lawal also praised Obiano for recognizing education as the bedrock of development and investing heavily in it to ensure that Anambra State continues to retain its top spot in national examinations. The National President of the association further observed that the Anambra model which Obiano had perfected to a roaring success should be emulated by other states to uplift the nation’s educational sector.

The event which attracted all Primary School Head Teachers across Nigeria also honoured the governor of Osun State, Ogbeni Rauf Aregbesola.

It would be recalled that recently, the Registrar of the National Examinations Council, Prof. Abdulrashid Garba had also showered praises on Governor Obiano for the excellent performance of Anambra State in all external examinations in the past three years.

Since he assumed office as the governor of Anambra State in March 2014, Governor Obiano has shown a remarkable interest in education, offering scholarships worth over N30 million to students in different levels of education and sponsoring 23 teachers to a special training in Singapore.

Obiano has also been roundly applauded for increasing teachers’ salaries in the midst of recession, offering incentives to teachers who are willing to teach in hard-to-reach areas and launching speedboats to help students living in riverine areas to gain access to schools on the mainland.
The governor has demonstrated a resolve to set up Anambra as a model in education, renovating a total of 862 units of 10-classroom blocks across 21 local government areas and disbursing the sum of N733 million to mission schools. Over 200 students have so far been given scholarships, including the children of some victims of Boko Haram, by Obiano’s 19-month administration.

Missionaries have really invested in education in Anambra state. When I look at that exam hall picture, I marvel. One can only imagine the academic work deposited in those students that even with the spacing, they got the confidence to excel.

God bless Anambra state.

Missionary built most of the best schools in Anambra from CKC,QRC,DMGS,ANGLICAN GIRLS,MARER AMABILIS,ST JOHN AGULU...What is so great about them is the level of discipline, moral grounding and dedication they instil in our kids. Anambra is set to rule this country.

I'm happy for the different developments in my state and I am also in high spirit because my mum just came back from anambra state to Lagos after staying there for 3months. My mum did not want to come back home to us oooo!!!! shocked we had call and beg the woman to listen to the cries of her children that her recipe is missing in our stomach.

these are what she told me based on what i told her to research on before coming back to lagos:

1. She said that many anambraians are rushing home to build and that the place we are staying in awka is already filled with houses bought and built by some rich guys in Obodo-Igbo. she said I should advice anyone who wants to buy land to rush and buy now that these men dont have joy with the large expanse of land they are buying. To be sincere, I need to start saving before i will start renting 3bedroom flat in my fatherland now. maka ihe neme kita dikwa serious.

2. She said the major reason why she didnt want to come to lagos is the peace and serenity of the environment, unlike the busy and dusty environment she will expose herself to in lagos. she buttressed her point with the fact that there is enough electric power and close access to our indigenous food with indigenous hand making it. the air is free from CO2.

3. She said that the environment where we stay in awka is undergoing renovation and our village have tarred basically because the village links to another major road. in all, she said that many people are coming back home especially in the north for their safety, so they are trying to build and do businesses in the east.

4. she said she went for a thanksgiving mass in a village close to ekwulobia (cant remember now). the place is funny sha. they were giving bags of rice to the priest. she asked the people there why rice? or they did not hear that the price of rice in the market is over 10thousand naira. they told her that they plant rice in their farms and its easier to get rice than the normal cocoyam in the village. My mum was shocked that things were happening and she didnt know that things have really changed in the east.

5. i told her that we only get oil from the riverine areas of the state. she looked at me and said that my cousin's wife father is collecting indigene money in Nri village for the oil been explored in that region. I am not too sure about this info but i think she might be right.

I, as an anambraian in face and in attitude hereby tell everyone that I am proud of my state. I am also warning other anambraians out there to please be quick in your decision-making to build and invest home because our brothers who left the north will end up renting an apartment for you when u get home.

thanks and God bless.

He was born and bred in Plateau state, perhaps that's the reason he always thinks like fulani herdsmen. Look at the nonsense the cow posted earlier.
