Word reaching your favourite amebo has it that the Nigerian Customs Service (NCS), Federal Operation Unit, Zone C, says it has destroyed 1, 365 cartons of imported frozen products valued at N11.56 million in Benin city.

This is contained in a statement by the Comptroller of Zone C, Mr Victor Dimka, in Benin on Sunday, 29th November, 2015.

According to the statement, 1,205 cartons of the 1, 365 cartons contained imported frozen poultry products, valued at N9.6 million.

The remaining 160 cartons contained frozen fish estimated at about N1.9 million respectively.

The statement said the items were destroyed on Saturday at the NSC office in Benin.

It added that the items were seized on Thursday by officers and men of NCS in the Benin-Ekiadolor area of Edo at about 1.00 p.m.

According to the statement, the Duty Paid Value (DPV) of the poultry products and frozen fish are N1.5 million and N2.2 million, respectively.

I hope we don’t have a repeat of people digging up these Chickens, just like we had in Rivers state recently.

did you know why govt even banned it? Is because they use poisonous chemicals in preserving them. So you see why they shouldn't send it to IDP camp.

Did you Know why it was banned before, is because of the poisonous chemicals they use in preserving them, that means is poisonous to human health. I don't eat frozen chicken.
