The best way to help, is to help and not expect anything in return. Just do the good, and take ur mind off it. God always have a way of rewarding u.

I witnessed one like that here in Lagos, I went to ojodu-berger to board a vehicle going to Eko-idumota, after d car was filled up, d conductor collected his money from all d passengers except one particular woman who claimed that she has paid, the conductor and other concerned passenger started cursing who so ever that refused to pay his/her tfare.
Unfortunately for her, she received her judgement immediately she got to island by misplacing her wallets full of money to buy goods...thats karma
I have warned people on this dat KARMA will always take it cause....

Happy Sunday Fellas! Today makes it exactly 1year that the incident happened. And as a man, i had swept it aside because it was a chicken change (Small cash), but i felt it is worth sharing, at least to help all those who may fall victim of people that beg for help, every now and then, particularly online. Yes! It's a good thing to help, it is one of those things i love doing, but the wicked people have made helping a hard thing to do.

Today, while surfing the net and Nairaland particularly, i came across a guy that needed 10k badly for his startup business, i wish i could help cos i have the means but i remember my experience.

On 28th of Nov. 2014, I bought a University pre-degree scratch cards via e-transact for my junior sister at 15k, luckily she was given admission in another University that same day... I came to nairaland to sell the card at 10k after the 3rd day of buying it.

Luckily, a young girl called me about few hours after, told me she needed the form. I said owk, that she should pay into an account and i would send the pin. She said she is scared not to be defrauded.I smiled and told her she has nothing to worry about. After 2hrs she called me back along with her bf, the guy chat me up on whatsapp and he said, they have fear that they just can't trust nairaland guys. I said fine, if that is the case...Can i also trust you too? He responded saying they are good Christians, that it is even me that they are scared of.

I told him, owk.. I would send the pin, they should make sure they send my money on Monday, cos the day was on a Sunday. And that they should send me their Facebook ID. I did add them immediately and send the pin.

I Checked the University portal that Sunday evening and discovered they have used the pin, saw all her data... she had filled the form, submitted and printed exam photo card. I called her, she said yes they filled the form at a cyber cafe.. I wish her all the best.

Fast forward to Monday evening, i didn't see any payment in respect of that, no message from both end. After two days, i call the girl.. She begged me that something happened and that they have not forgotten, hopefully on Friday. After Friday, no show.. I Called again, this time, it's the boyfriend, you need to see how this guy was telling he is expecting one money in d next few weeks. I Laughed at both of them and gave them 2weeks deadline after which i would stop asking them and pray they would be paid back in folds. After 2weeks, no show again.. I saw them on Facebook doing big boy and girl lovers and using loving up dp, i just smile.

I have to call them for the last time, that am done with them, and told them frankly that am bigger than 10k, just don't want the card to waste. It could have been better if they had begged for it. Till tomorrow, i never heard from them again.

Moral lesson: Before you help, ensure you are helping the right person and not taking out of your little to enrich another, because their are thousands of fake Guys, folks that are not just trustworthy and many fraudsters out there.

NB: You may share your experience for others to learn too. It makes men and women to be much more watchful and to be be extra careful as well.

op, my candid advise is, display their whatsapp and Facebook info. Agreed you have forgotten the money, but you need to let them know that crime doesn't pay. The best way is to shame them.

If u get the money back, the debtor might spoil it. Maybe give u 5k today 2k tomorrow and 1500 next tomorrow. Hahahahhaha. See Ehnnnnn, it's never good to borrow people money. It's a big risk especially if there is nothing binding you. A debtor can even turn to your antagonist. Sorry to get u scared but I have learnt the hard way. Good luck to you grin

Hmmm. My brother, let God deal with them. But dont stop helping with what you can afford. May Good God who saw what you did reward you in Jesus name.
I HAVE SIMILAR EXPERIENCE
This woman was a recharge card dealer. After a lot of conversation, I decided to order for the pins and certain amount of money (N13000) into the account number she gave me. When she saw the payment alert, she sent me a software that the pins are inside the software. Whentried to open the software with the username and password she gave me, the software did not open since sugust this year till now. I later told her to send my money, but she refused up to this present time. She had even stopped picking my calls. I just laughed at her. For others not to fall into her hand because she posted her advert here, her details her below.
Name; ROSE OKORO
Account name she used is Grave Efe Emena
Account number: 3013114165
Bank name: Skye Bank.
Name of the company: Sun print out Limited (R) (RC)
Company's address: NO 1 Tamamdu Road, off Audu Bako way, Nassarawa GRA, Kano State.
She did not know how I got some of the above information. I also have her national ID card and the CAC certificate of the company as well as payment teller with me. I am residing in Ilorin, but I told her that she can be located any time I have time for her. Should anybody knows or wants to assist me on it , my number is 08134780680. Thanks

Op shey it was a pre-degree form? Maybe she didn't finally get admission to study her course full time. Who knows?

If she get admission through scam she go graduate with scam.

Shine your eyes next time sha! smiley

What's this one saying. Even tho' she didn't get admission.. But she promised to pay on monday meaning. She has not written the exam/entrance exam.., Two week after she hasn't paid ., she was busy snapping pics with her boyfriend!.

op yours is even small a man I thought I knew pleaded with me that his daughter was returning to sec sch and he needs to pay her fee of 25k that I should pls help him and he will pay me back at the end of the month. after taking the pain and transferring 25k into his wife's account through ATM on a Sunday this man refused to pay me back and at a time he was even insulting me and lying to me he has not been paid after I had already confirmed he has received 150k. I had to threaten him with police before he paid me 15k with a promise of completing it the upper week. behold it is now 10 months now and I have not seen or heard anything from this same man I went out of my way to help. I just let him know that its a small world and we shall surely meet again and he will pay for his deeds.

This is so unfair.

Perhaps, the lady in question is reading this. Please note that you have not done well at all. Integrity is key. And, we all reap what we sow. It's just a matter of time, trust me. It's a golden rule...!
If I were you, I would do the needful. Return op's money and Just let it slide... Or why would you be a stumbling block for others who need help, genuinely?! We still got loads of people out there with good, appreciative hearts. God bless them.

[See as e dey pain me like say na my money... cheesy grin *sniffs* I detest injustice.]

I had a slightly similar experience about 5yrs ago wen I was a cyber operator,a guy who wanted 2 do his university online reg had no money with him but promised to pay me next week...I believed him and besides, his cousin supplies us with snacks...so I used my personal cash in order for me 2 balance my account 4 dat day..
when it was time to pay,he kept posting and begging...wen I try calling,he will allow his fone 2 ring without responding...I reported it to the cousin..informing her about wat he did...she pleaded with me to b patient, that she will talk to him...
after a while,I dashed all hopes of getting d cash and wished him well tru a text...
recently,I saw him in the market wit sum of his friends, once he spotted me coming,he told his friend to form a cover to hide him from me not knowing dat I had already seen him b4 he decided 2 hide himself...
I wish him well..though dat won't stop me from helping dose who r genuinely in need!

They Felt they were very smart. I would have advised you to get their residential info on the University portal, go to their house and treat them like fraudsters they are. But, forget the N10k and hand them over to their conscience. However, to finish your good deed, you must post their facebook pictures, their NL monikers so that people can be wary of them. The society cannot afford to harbour such petty criminals. We need to chastise them, else you are doing a disservice to good people of NL and Nigeria.

Hit like if you agree with me.

Haha!
This is so annoying. Like u rightly said, it wld av bn beta if they begged for it/ or willingly dashed them. They decided to pay u back with a bitter currency (and almost changing ur perspective abt helping odas, hence, even wen u c genuine pple wu rili nid help, u may fail to render it jst because of dis bita experience).
Left to me ehn, u r encouraging dem to dupe odas. I mean, u av d means to track dem nd bring heavy nd unbearable penalty on dem (u cld av traced her to d exam hall nd connive wt d exam invigilator to mk her put a guarantor or use police guys to arrest her frm d hall) bt u failed to utilize it. Frown @ corruption nd impunity @ d slightest opportunity u av. The 'we r gud christians' part got me pained. The implication is bad.
