Ok, I am back. Am sorry, but Oluwa Glass Company Plc is currently closed down. This company was one of the largest producers of glass sheets in Nigeria in the Okitipupa /Igbokoda axis of Ilaje area in Ondo State. It got its raw materials from the abundant silica sand and quartz in that area. In its heydays when the likes of Volkswagen Assembly Plant in Lagos, and Peugeot Motor Plant in Kaduna were still churning out thousands of vehicles for the Nigerian masses in the mid-80s to early 90s before they went under, and were recently revived under GEJ's automotive policy, Oluwa Glass used to manufacture windscreens for both firms. Here is an article I saw recently on the status of some industries in Ondo state. It also lists the fate that befell Oluwa Glass Plc. PDP can’t retain power in Ondo | The Nation Newspapers | |

Aareonakakanfo: It's one person posting under different handles. Anyway, that shows how shiit Klitschkos are. Those two heifers just messed up heavyweight boxing. Thank God their era is over. Joshua is more of a complete boxer than Wilder is. Wilder is a hype job. Wilder just has that big right and perhaps a puncher's chance. I believe Joshua can beat him right now. As for Stiverne, Joshua will walk through him and knock him out. He won't last 7 rounds. |

CONTD... However,as has been explained above, this is a title of unknown exigencies because once partisan politics resumes, the profile and role of the holder is muted. Nonetheless, one thing must be borne in mind always; partisan politics or not, the Yoruba, discerning and fastidious as ever, are eminently adept at differentiating and separating the chaff from the substance. They know who is in politics in search of lucre, position and patronage, personal aggrandizement, hence not every politician can even remotely be considered let alone be chosen to hold this title . For the foreseeable future, as far as the eyes can see, the only known feature of the Nigerian federation is the unknown. Hence this title and its utility under the extant dispensation, cannot be assailed. It is to the eternal credit of Obafemi Awolowo, that the benchmark by which any holder of the title would be assessed was established by him. |

Dwindling Allocation: Osun Suspends Promotion, Confirmation of Staff As a result of the belt-tightening measures due to the dwindling allocation from the federal government, Osun state government may have suspended promotion of old members of staff in its employment. The state government had a few weeks ago issued a memo detailing some measures it intended to introduce as a result of the drop in its monthly allocation to civil service in the state to cut down cost. Few of the measures the government proposed in the memo was certificate based transfer that may see those working outside their field of study, getting transferred back to the appropriate section. However since the memo was released in late September, no action has been taken in that direction, fuelling speculations that government may have dropped the proposal to avoid negative reaction from the organised labour movement. http://www.thisdaylive.com/articles/dwindling-allocation-osun-suspends-promotion-confirmation-of-staff/226675/ |

Aareonakakanfo: SouthWest leaders are stupid and visionless. There was an OK free trade zone that was supposed to be cited in the Olokola area of Ondo/Ogun states. The present Dangote refinery under construction around the Lekki axis was supposed to have been cited there. Instead of them to have put enough pressure on the guy and the other involved chinese investors to ensure that the Olokola area is developed, they allowed them to move it to Lagos state, when we know very well that Lagos is already teeming with enough commerce and industry. Why must we put all our eggs in one basket, what kind of visionless leadership is that? We need another developed coastal city in Yorubaland. Southern Ondo state in the Ilaje Axis would be my location of choice, or somewhere in Ijebuland. 1 Like |

Aareonakakanfo: You are still in tune with current trends...don't worry! Anyway, I am glad Osun is looking at other sources of revenue. What they need to do is to devise and articulate a strategy for getting people back to the farms. They should take the following steps: 1). Work with the Federal Ministry of Agriculture to acquire or designate vast tracts of land as farming settlements in each local government area, where Osun citizens can get access to the farmlands at little or no cost; 2). Invite foreign and local food processing companies and entrepreneurs into the state, to process part of the farm produce at source, so that it does not go bad after harvesting due to poor storage and logistics; 3). Work out a logistics structure with haulage firms for getting the farm crops to markets in neighbouring cities at an affordable cost, quickly and efficiently. 4). Create massive awareness among the populace in the state on how they can become successful farmers and fishermen, by following certain prescribed steps to get access to farmlands, tools, fertilisers, business advisory support and other inputs. 1 Like |

scholes0: O su mi.I swear we're the one killing the South-west ourselves.Eeeeverything is about Lagos.I heard the reason why Dangote didn't site it there is because the host communities weren't co-operating.They were demanding for too much.I don't even know what's going on regarding OKLNG. |

scholes0: Gbam!! I have said it before over and over, if Nigerians do not exploit the potentials of their waterways, they would lose out on a huge source of revenue and an efficient way to ease transportation for the masses. Someone once told me that from Lagos to Ondo State via the waterways is just a journey of 2 and half hours. I don't know if his estimates are accurate. Why can't an interstate ferry service be developed?? It would beat having to stay choked up in Lagos-Ibadan expressway traffic, just because I want to get to Ondo by road. Ever since I can remember, the bitumen in Ondo state has been a subject on the pages of newspapers. What has been done to actively market and exploit this resource? Very little. It is just so sad. Dangote's refinery should not be the only one in the South-West. It was reported recently that Buhari has issued licenses to 65 private investors to set up modular refineries. What has Ondo State government done to actively get some of them to site those refineries in Ilaje area?? Lagos State has a Ministry of Energy and Mineral Resources charged with actively seeking investment opportunities that would enable the state tap into the oil & gas sector. What is Ondo State with its potential oil wells doing?? |

Aareonakakanfo: That was the project I was alluding to at the beginning of the thread. They moved it to Epe. Ondo/Ogun didn't treat their indigenous folks shabbily - but these greed thieves in Lagos treated their indigenous folks like the savages in the Avatar movie. They didn't even give them a chance to negotiate with Dangote and get either compensation or resettlement - the wicked thieves just sent the military there to kick folks out of their ancestral lands. 1 Like |

I want to go to bed in a good mood tonight so I won't even touch on the shenanigans of land grabbers in that area and the way Tinubu and co took their lands away with impunity, leaving them with very little in exchange. |

This is Yorubaland and surrounding area of allied groups, the most urbanised country in Sub Saharan Africa. Notice that most of our big cities are inland in the tropical forest, with a few in the Savannah like Ilorin, Saki, Kishi, Fiditi Etc ... The coastal area has just lagos, and the Ijebu Cities as only noticeable settlements of note. The Ilaje area does not even any major have motorable roads linking into it , in an area with massive potential. Why can't the Olokola FTZ be developed? This will bring settlement and development into the area and we would be spoilt with choices. Western Oyo is also scanty with lots of free land. Why cant people like Adenuga and the rest of them build an industrial park there or something? |

You know one can argue that guy owns Nigeria. The country is on his palms and he can crush it whenever he likes. Some of the indigenous folks don't even want the project sited there probably due to environmental issues.I need to start employing the Onreflection method Land dispute: Lekki Free Zone MD, Disu, killed on peace mission |

I think they bribed the Oloja of Epe cos the clown was vocal in his support of their shenanigans, while the poor folks are still in court fighting for compensation/resettlement. Aareonakakanfo: What were they demanding? Was it not the same demand situations by Lekki communities that Killed the director of the Lekki FTZ a few months ago? Did u see the news? The leaders of Okunraiye community, one of the host communities of the Lekki Free Trade Zone in Ibeju Lekki, Lagos, have attributed the death of Tajudeen Disu to a stray bullet fired by the police. Are these people not sensitized on the potential benefits or what? |
