Everyone knows the last six months of GEJ's presidency were the most corrupt in the history of Nigeria. This is not news! Watch soon the accused will claim one health condition or another. How I wish we were still in the military era, all of them death by firing squad but instead we must rely on a weak judiciary system....rubbish!

DickDastardly:
The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission has arrested a former Minister of State for Finance, Bashir Yuguda, and a number of top officials from the office of the National Security Adviser over the controversial arms procurement scandal surrounding former NSA, Sambo Dasuki.

Multiple sources at the EFCC told PREMIUM TIMES Mr. Yuguda was arrested Monday afternoon and was currently being quizzed by detectives.

Our sources said a huge amount of money; “running into billions” was allegedly traced to the former minister from funds meant for arms procurement.

“The funds were directly transferred to him from the NSA office and he has been unable to explain the rationale for the transfer,” a source said.

“The transfers were made to his account between December 2014 and May 2015.”

Also arrested over the same matter, according to our sources, are some senior officials at the NSA office, including the director of finance.

“The suspects are being grilled by crack detectives and may not be allowed to go home soon,” one source said.
The spokesperson for the EFCC, Wilson Uwujaren, said he was yet to be briefed on the arrests.

“I’m aware that our detectives are looking into the case but I’m not sure who and who has been taken in,” Mr. Uwujaren said on telephone.

He promised to revert as soon details become available.
A presidential investigations committee into arms procurement under the Goodluck Jonathan administration had said in its interim report that it found extra-budgetary spending by the Jonathan administration to the tune of N643.8 billion and an additional $2.2 billion in the foreign currency component.

But Mr. Dasuki has repeatedly denied any wrongdoing, saying all contracts and accruing payments on arms procurement were made based on the approval of Mr. Jonathan, adding that due process and military procurement regulations were followed in all the transactions.

“Nigerians should note that all the services generated the types of equipment needed, sourced suppliers most times and after consideration by the Office of the NSA, the President will approve application for payment,” Mr. Dasuki in a recent statement.

Mr. Jonathan however said in Washington last week that his government never awarded any contract in the range of $2 billion dollars.

“I did not award any $2 billion contract for procurement of weapons,” Mr. Jonathan said, querying, “Where did the money come from?” and repeating emphatically that “I did not award a contract of $2billion for procurement of weapons”.

By the time PMB finishes with Dasuki (his blood) their wont be a hidden place for any other goat again in this country. All of them would be made to cough out our yams.

Majority of those who won't like this news are those who know that, as time goes on, their hero-GEJ, is going to be indicted.

PMB should tighten the noose on Dasuki, cut off electricity, sunlight and air to Dasuki's house. Infact, he should be made to wallow in darkness and breath with oxygen tank in that house. Finally he must be made to spill the beans with Lara Osho holding his short thing under torture to discover if he is saying the truth, if not as punishment, he should be locked up in same room with Mama Peace for many nights. Seriously!

I doubt it, Abdusallam stole physical cash or funds and whatever was left of the already devastated treasury but GEJ's administration goes far beyond that. We might not really know the full extent of the damages until years after. If we combine the female thief, Dasuki and the other scandals during GEJ's administration, I'm sure we would be hovering close to $50 Billion dollars, Abdusallam can only wish he stole quarter of that!

So you want them to be thrown into jail just like that, so you can wail 'dictator'?

Or sent to court (not NL court) without concrete evidences?

Who really are these kids on NL?

Sometimes I just cant help but wonder if the people who keep making these kind of comments are humans or zombies. Trillions were spent on defense budgets yet our soldiers kept complaining that they lacked common bullets; hundreds, if not thousands of soldiers have died because those meant to supply them arms obviously diverted funds. Today investigations are ongoing and illegal diversions of large sums are being uncovered yet these are the kind of comments some Nigerians are coming up with?

Some are asking which weapons the present government has bought, some are asking the government to forget these diverted funds and move on with other projects... and I ask, with which money do you expect the present government to move forward even when you know the present economic conditions due to oil price crash?.... How can normal humans even reason like this?... What on earth is wrong with the black man?....

If the people making these cringe inducing comments were actually involved in the fraud or if they shared part of the loot, it would be understood. But that is not the case, some zombies just think they are defending GEJ with these silly mentalities they portray; they are obviously oblivious of the fact that it is criminals like this who diverted defense budgets, these are even the guys who ruined GEJ's government. angry

Shizzy7, remember "impatience isn't a virtue. Order is more vital than speed". I'll give PMB till the first quarter of next year before I start criticising him even though I still strongly believe he's a better candidate than GEJ. Do you know how much was stolen during the GEJ administration? If Jonathan is still the President then I believe by now we should be borrowing money from Togo cos all the available funds would have been expunged from the nations account.
My opinion tho
I am not saying we should not be patient but when a government says::

** Oil refineries will commence operation in August and in October it's another story..
** By September boko haram will become history but deadline has been postponed to December.
*Prosecutes more than six public office holders and none of them is found guilty..
**Bans the importation of small generators
**Lifts ban on rice import.
**A president travelling every other week.
Six months is enough time for a serious government to do one thing that will impart into the lives of ordinary citizens..

Of course, he's a better candidate than Jonathan but will his cabinet and administration be better than that of Jonathan? I'm still observing..

You are the Joker here if you cannot bring out to the whole world verifiable proof that Amaechi stole money while in office. These people were arrested because somebody provided proof of money that was illegally transferred into their accounts. The courts are there, let Wike and all the concerned wailers go there. Please, we are civilized here stop all these silly accusations.
