"awọn oriṣa kọ o, awọn enia ti o kọ, aiye kọ ọ." This were the words every Alaafin from the old Oyo empire feared the most. They were usually uttered by the bashorun, after he had conducted the Orun festival, and had assessed the Alaafin, with the mesi council, and had thus found him wanting. The JAGABAN and leader of the ACN faction of the ruling party has over the years made so many reckless mistakes, some which could be forgiven, but this time, it is best he steps down from his position and allow a new leader, to emerge with fresh ideas. His latest misadventures, began with the Senate leadership tussle. He backed Lawan and Akume, and chose Gbajabiamila to lead the lower house. At the end of the day, Saraki, who is by far a junior to him in politics, defeated and decimated his attempts to control the Senate. Next he tried to rubbish and destroy the ambitions of his successor, Fashola, who was being tipped for a plum appointment by the President. After his attempts to expose the ex govenor as a corrupt failure, he failed woefully and only managed to catapult the govenor to the position of Minister of Power, works and housing. He failed to get any of his anointed disciples into the President's cabinet. The likes of Falana, are still licking their wounds. He has lost virtually any influence in the affairs of this government, that his right hand man, Osinbanjo, the VP has become so irrelevant, that the President neglects his decision as he does his minister of state for petroleum. It got so bad that a mere govenor, El rufai, disgraced him at a meeting. He has no channels to communicate his ideas to the President, so much so that even the hated predecessor to the President, has seen his successor more times than the Jagaban. It is widely rumoured that he and some unscrupulous members of the NWC tried to plant their own stooge as the APC gubernatorial candidate for the Bayelsa elections. Sylva instead dealt seriously with them and disgraced them, by forcing himself on the party. Oshiomole is still licking his wounds. Now once more, he has been disgraced in the market square. A MERE Yahaye Bello, has managed to upstage the Jagaban's anointed and legal successor to Abubakar Audu, in the Kogi debacle. His silly candidate, Faleke has decided to waste his time at the courts, and has shot himself in the foot, by rejecting the position of deputy. All this failures are too much too ignore. The JAGABAN, should swallow his pride and step down from his leadership position. He has led the Yoruba progressives to an inevitable slaughter, which they may not survive. The time to stop him from destroying completely the ACN is now. Someone should please give the Alaafin of ACN the parrot's egg, before it is too late. http://an24.net/2015/11/30/8061/ |

babyfaceafrica: How does one ear the right to be a dictator in a democratic setting? This is exactly how Hitler rose to be the sole force and most powerful individual in Germany after his blind followers in the NAZI party elevated him to that status. Currently you plebs are extending your hero worship to Buhari over Tinubu. God will never let your gross foolishness destroy out democracy |

babyfaceafrica:Tinubu has tried, yes, but it is time he leaves the stage for the new generation. If Abiola had not jumped in front of the train, will he have become the man he is today. |
