How did the man get to the tarmac in the first place? FAAN security are supposed to be everywhere in the airport. They would rather harass hardworking staff of the various airport agencies( because your ON DUTY CARD ODC) is expired or not carrying the color code authorised for that particular area. If they harass airport staff becos they didn't wear their ODCs on their shirts, how the f**k does an outsider get access to the tarmac? When not all airport staff can do dat?
I guess the strike FAAN was planning ystdy actually startred today and he utilized the loophole with the help of an insider.
The sh!t happening in this country is foul.

I take exception to the word 'vigilant' in that release. If they had truely been vigilant the man would be nowhere near that tarmac. Secondly the uunnecessary warning issued thereafter is a poor attempt at damage control or are we to assume that up till that point the 'vigilant' security personal had been allowing all manner of person acess to unauthorised places in the airport

my dear blame it on poverty not the man. Things are really hard for some folks out there and they are willing to do anything to survive even at the expense of their own lives. I guess he thought the plane was travelling overseas. God have mercy on Naija.

Towncrier247:
Earlier today, a man was caught as he approached a plane that was taxiing at MMIA this morning, causing panic . In a statement released by the Federal Airport Authority of Nigeria, FAAN, they said the man wasn't a suspected terrorist but someone trying to stowaway. Read their press statement after the cut...
Vigilant Aviation Security staff of the Federal Airports Authority of Nigeria, today,December 2, 2015, apprehended a man, Mr. Alabibu Olushola, who was attempting to stow away in a taxing aircraft on the tarmac of the Murtala Muhammed International Airport, Ikeja.
The culprit was arrested as soon as he scaled the perimeter fence near the moving aircraft and after interrogation by the Avsec staff, he was immediately handed over to the police for further interrogation.
The Authority wishes to remind members of the public that access to restricted areas of the airport, including the tarmac and perimeter roads, is prohibited for unauthorized people, including airport staff, who have no business being there. This is more so in view of the present security situation in the country.
The Authority will henceforth not hesitate to arrest and prosecute any person, including unauthorized airport staff, who is found loitering around restricted areas of all our airports.

It baffles me when these incompetent faan officials think they can choke down rubbish n down our throats all in the name of covering up their total inability to secure our airports.

I do not know what FAAN is covering up? That a man wants to STOWAWAY in a plane that was TAXING .Why are these people trying to insult our sense of judgment Pure lie.!!!!!
This pure case of terrorism NIPPED in the bud by a VIGILANT PILOT
