Onitsha has turned to Borno. Ipob Haram everywhere.

The markets at Onitsha have been closed.

Lives have been lost.

Human and vehicular movement have been halted.

Most Ndigbo would refuse to come down for Xmas thereby reducing the glamour of the celebrations.

Properties of non indigenes have been burnt.

There would be reprisal killings of Ndigbo in other parts of the Country.

There would soon be a curfew delared in Anambra followed by a state of Emergency.

The protesters definitely have a point, but the manner of expression is faulty. However, a government that has no problems killing its own people is also faulty.
Given it's an open secret that Nigeria is a failed state, who can blame Biafrans for wanting a way out- after all, it may not be as bad as it already is in Nigeria.
The coming days are very crucial. How Buhari handles this matter may be one of the yardsticks for judging his government. Violence is certainly not the way. Pretending also that the problem is a minor issue could also be a terrible miscalculation.
Violence is not an option!!!

You are using live ammunition on peaceful protesters while you claim that there is not enough ammunition to fight Boko Haram.

Those who swore to protect them have blessed them with bullets

The FG keeps begging Shekau to accept amnesty yet they will not even send a cabinet minister to see IPOB. Heck, even Garba Shehu/Femi Adesina will calm some frayed nerves. However, who do we see? NOBODY! Because they are Igbos, they must be met with bullets at first contact.

People think IPOB wants war. That is not true. Nobody sane ever wants war. War kills children and destroys livelihoods. Just ask those in IDP camps.
All they want is a chance to be heard. Just one freaking chance! One of the numerous emissaries sent to beg BH should come and hear them out

Gowon promised Nigeria will develop as a whole after 1970. However, this development started in Lagos, moved upwards, vanished towards Niger Bridge and then re-appeared up North.

I'm not surprised. After all, we are the 5%

[s][/s]I supported Buhari coming into power but I am totally disappointed at the manner he is handling this Biafra issue. His attitude has proved he still remains a dictator but he should know that the era of dictatorship has gone. Why would JTF use life bullets on protesters? This is uncalled for. By now he should know that such actions will only make the protest worse . The world is really watching ! We were not hearing of such protests like these until the arrest of the radio Biafra director. He should please release the man let us have our peace!

https://www.nairaland.com/2776741/experience-onitsha-today
trust me, that's a one man account. credible sources have it that APC paid hooligans were responsible for the chaos created yesterday following the vandalization of the said mosque.
this is one of the accounts.

Following ground swell protests at
Ontisha, Anambra State and other
states of the south-east and South-
South geopolitical zone staged by
members of the Movement for the
Actualization of Sovereign State of Biafra,
MASSOB, and the Indigenous People of
Biafra, IPOB, last Tuesday, calling on the
Federal Government to release their
detained leader, Nnamdi Kanu, the two
pro-Biafra groups, Wednesday,
disassociated selves from acts of arson
and violence that culminated in the razing
down of Onitsha Central Mosque and
burning of some vehicles.
This came as the Inspector General of
Police,Solomon Arase, warned that the
Nigerian Police Force, NPF, will henceforth,
arrest and prosecute persons found to be
engaged in the breakdown of law and
order by way of protests, especially in the
old eastern region.

It would recalled that over 60,000
members and sympathizers of IPOB and
MASSOB, had last Tuesday, shut down
commercial and business activities in the
south-east geopolitical zone in an avowed
stance for the creation of the sovereign
State of Biafra hinged on perceived
injustice, marginalization and neglect meted
to the people of the region.
In a statement made available to newsmen
by MASSOB Acting Leader, Uchenna Madu
which reads in part,” the setting of Ontisha
Central Mosque, vehicles ablaze and
making of burning fires which depicts
violence are not done by the members of
IPOB or MASSOB under my leadership.
“This unwarranted acts of violence are
perfected by hoodlums sponsored by
agents of the Federal Government and
Anambra State government to create
impression that non violence and peaceful
pro-Biafra group have turned violent on our
agitation for Biafra. Our oppressors are no
longer comfortable. There is no evidence of
terrorism in our protest. How can we now
resort to violence now that we’re told that
the presidency is about negotiating with
leaders of pro-Biafra group?

“With today’s killing of our members and
injuring many with bullet shots,we are no
longer comfortable with the presidency’s
move for dialogue. Federal Government
move for dialogue is hypocritical and
deceitful. Any Igbo group,organization and
persons negotiating,meeting or dialoguing
with the presidency on our behalf without
our consent or mandate should stop now.
“IPOB led by Nnamdi Kanu and MASSOB led
by Uchenna Madu have never mandated
any person to negotiate for us. Even in this
persecution, arrest, killings, clampdown,
suppression against us by Nigeria
Government, we shall continue and intensify
our non violence agitation for Biafra. For
Nigeria to release their Armed Forces
against non violence, defenseless Biafra
agitators shows their wickedness and the
devilish mind of President Muhammad Buhari
against our people.

It's sad to see this much ignorance and stupidity. The action of 1 man or group doesn't define the stand of the others ("Geniuses", take note). The "igbos", the "north"?? When were you elected speaker for the "igbos"? Or the "north"? Speak for yourself and don't drag the others into your talk to look significant....that's what insignificant people do.

Even you know that you are not saying the truth, it's so funny how you guys complain about everything that is not business as usual for you.
You guys have thriving businesses all over the country because you are always welcomed every where, but how many other tribes have thriving businesses in your own region.
How many other tribes have built homes on your lands without harassment, how many non Igbo have you employed in your government offices.
Yet you complain. Always complaining.
I believe that if you are really ready to 'go' you should just do the following simple things.
1. Stop receiving federal allocation from Nigeria
2. Close down all your businesses all over the Country so that you can rundown the economy
3. Stop traveling with the Nigerian passport
4. Recall all legislators from your region and let them stop helping us rule Nigeria.

You can't eat your cake and have it. You cant be enjoying the common wealth of Nigeria and be clam outing for Biafra.

If your governors can build your stated to compete with countries like The UAE, or SA to start with, then I'll understand that the country is too backward for you.

Even if you are granted Biafra, are you sure, that leadership tussles with follow, more people dies!
Have a rethink about all these, before it turns to gene ode&
Your comments are so cynical that I have no inclination to dignify you with an answer but I'll indulge for the sake of discussion. When the Scottish wanted to leave the United Kingdom. Did they
-Stop travelling with the British passport?
-Recall all legislators from Westminister?
-Stop receiving allocations?
-Close down all businesses outside Scotland?
They went about it peacefully and everybody was happy.
Do you think the development in Lagos is as a result of state allocations? The groundwork (airports, seaports, and massive bridges) were all federal projects. Even Aregbesola has stated that those allocations even can't pay salaries.
Just think for a bit about the fact that the entire zone has had the least federal intervention since the end of the civil war. Just think!!
Maybe if we had more FG assistance, we would stay in our areas like everybody wants us to do
