O Canada.....What a cabinet: Minister of Health is a doctor. Minister of Transport is an astronaut. Minister of National Defense is a Sikh Veteran. Minister of Youth is under the age of 45. Minister of Agriculture and Agri-Food is a former farmer. Minister of Public Safety and Emergency Preparedness was a Scout. Minister of Innovation, Science and Economic Development was a financial analyst. Minister of Finance is a successful businessman. Minister of Justice was a crown prosecutor and is a First Nations leader. Minister of Sport, and Persons with Disabilities is a visually impaired Paralympian. Minister of Fisheries and Oceans, and Canadian Coastguard is Inuit. Minister of Science is a medical geographer with a PhD. New titles include Minister of Immigration, Citizenship and Refugees was an Immigration critic. There are scientists in the cabinet, and it is made up of 50% women. What do you expect? Is this not Gowon and the Canadian prime minister when he was just a little boy? While they have moved on to the 3rd generation, we are still recycling the same people that destroyed us. From Gowon to Muritala Obj, Buhari, IBB, Abdusalam,Obj,and back to Buhari. What a shame. Maybe , it will be Abdusalam second coming in 2019. 6 Likes 1 Share

And the swiftness in naming the cabinet is instructive Trudeau didn't waste 6 months to 'clear the rot' of the previous conservative government. 'Because it's 2015.' 2 Likes |

It is "Oh Canada!!" and in Nigeria it is "Ewooo Nigeria!!!". Like someone noted just wait for the next recycling selection to revert to either Gowon or Abdusalam or IBB. Our visionless youth will come and join the Almajiris to shout "CHANGE" because Lai Muhammed promised them N5000 ($20) a month. 1 Like |

Mods should move it to front page let our politician that deal with only front page material take note. We need to start sending subtle message and prepare ahead for 2019.If we want change we must be ready to fight for the change. No body is going to hand over the change to us. We must become that change and fight for a more greater change. GOD bless Nigeria. 1 Like |

They could as well have installed dogs and cats in the cabinet and it will still function. Canada,USA,UK and others are plug and play societies. President come, prime minister go. The establishment remains The heavy lifting is done by the civil service and the civil service remains a constant |

Buhari is preparing the road that will take us there, for now those individuals in Nigeria are still busy spending the 'sit down and shush' money they got from the last administration. Let the closest to the honest ones get Nigeria ready first. |

The problem we have in Nigeria is not with the background of the Ministers appointed, but with the attitude and productivity of public servants. We have always had Medical Doctors as Minister of Health, did they improve our healthcare system? We have always had seasoned legal luminaries as Minister of Justice, has that improved the justice system or administration of justice? How has having a retired Military General as Minister of Defence helped in combating insecurity in Nigeria? We have so many government agencies that are performing below average, while some are nowhere near fulfilling the purpose for why they were created. Many scientific officers, environmental officers, engineers etc in the public service are idle with no specific schedule of duty. Many of them do not even know what they are doing in the service, they just earn salaries. Youths now acquire educational qualifications only because they want to get employed and earn salaries afterward, not because they want to contribute to the social, economic, scientific, industrial or technological development of Nigeria. If we have a vibrant, self-motivated, resourceful, creative and purpose-driven civil service, the question of 'what Minister gets what portfolio' will be of little or no importance. 4 Likes |

mikolo80:may be what took Canada there was a little sincerity, Ghana was there once, South Africa got there at point. may be with a little prayer and the wave nemesis blowing now, at least with those that stole our money we are getting there. I hope the it would be altruistic prosecution of the corrupt and not persecution of political enemies. |

Canada had One of the most godfather of godfathers as prime minister (can't remember his name) but he did five terms South Africa never 'got 'there they are not getting there they will never get there, av least not before Nigeria does (white ppl have always been there and the black ones are mucking it up as usual) prayer won't solve this one o it can but it won' cos nemesis has been blowing (abacha, yar'adua~Jonathan,)and nemesis is tired cos he has other countries to blow whether altruistic o revengeistic o antiquarrupshin is antiquarrupshin Abi dem tell you say any of the allegees no quarrupt when (if ever) it's their turn they too should probe the other (apc) half of quarrupshin (they won't because they know that when it's apc turn again them go hear wen) |
