Insert a working dvd drive or swap from a compatible laptop. If it works, then your drive is as good as dead. However, does it spin up when you put a disk in it? I also forsee a driver related brouhaha smiley cos of the manufacturer of your laptop.

search for tune up utilities full version and install then activate it. Just use the undelete feature to recover your data.

Try to boot into safe mode and let's see if it will trip as usual.

To the extent I inserted its Hard-disk to a friends System. To my greatest Surprise, it works fine

I suspect a heat problem. Boot into safe mode. Take note of the time it trips and boot into safe mode again. The thing is that your startup apps will be disabled and some unnecessary services when in safe mode hence, causing a minimal load on the cpu which heats up fast on full load. If the time for the second safe mode boot up is shorter, then you have a cooling problem. Is the fan working in a full rpm whenever you boot up? Is there any sight of dirt in your pc?

Pls I need help. My laptop won't restart when I try to install a new windows. When it's time to restart during the process, it will turn off and won't turn back on. When I on it manually it starts afresh only to do the same thing.
The laptop is hp 8510p runs on Windows 7 32bit and I intend installing windows 7 64bit

If I were you, I will just Remove my hard disk, insert it in another system, Run the 64bit O.S on it. After completion, return the hard disk to its original system and see what happens.... #Without_Stress

Yeah. It's running fine on 32bit. But sometimes 64bit is required before I could run some apps

Thanks for your input. I'll look for someone to help me with that. But does it mean my system can not be fixed somehow
