Kimoni: They've stated why it is wrong, MAIZE IS NOT EAsY TO DIGEST. Anyways,To each their own, was just staying my own position, no justification. Every mom should err on the side of caution with regards to anything they feed their child if it's not home made from scratch |

Another question.... My DD is 2 months and I've not pierced her ears yet. Her dad wants it done though, son my question is... Is it too late now, like would it be really painful now that she's not that much of a new born anymore and how soon does it heal cos the only way she'll sleep is on her tummy and I'm worried about her resting on the pierced ears. I'm also worried about breastfeeding cos she tends to rest on her ears whilst in my arms.... And carrying her on my chest....! Sigh! I wish I could avoid it and save her the pain. It's quite upsetting actually. Thanks mamas |

toparie: the U.S. is funny, I had the same issue with piercing with Baby E (meanwhile in the U.K. remains small for them to pierce ears as the baby is born). It won't hurt, it's more the shock of it that made Baby E cry (though I hear some babies don't do too well and need Tylenol). I didn't give her any medication but ask the nurse to use their numbing cream in the spot 10 minutes before piercing. The nurse advised Methyl spirit to clean after but Olive oil (ped recommended) is better as it keeps the place away from moisture (so no sores) and you use it to rotate the earring (so it doesn't stick). |

toparie: They've always had 2 branches, the second one is on Chevron drive. I held out for a piercing gun but the hospital didn't have needles so they used the manual, old school surgical earring and it worked fine. |
