Mugus!!! This is why religion is the second biggest industry in Nigeria after Oil! The reason why religion is a fool proof business is that no one has died and come back to tell you what they are selling you doesn't exist. The people who brought this religion to you don't practice the religion like we do. You can tell how poor a people are by the number of churches in the neighbourhood. If you want to be a good human being start by loving and helping your fellow man, it's good to give but instead of buying aviation fuel for people who build mighty churches and can't even fix the roads to their churches, find a needy person and give him your money.

When I was a child I thought offerings would be poured in a basin, then God will come down and take the money. But on realising it was pastors that spent the money, as a child I stopped giving offering in church. Yet, God in his infinite Mercies still blessed me.
When I grew older I gave God something huge that I felt. Though I gave it as a bribe in my conscience so that the Pastor will facilitate my request. But to my greatest surprise God blessed me with a 6 digit job.
Giving brings blessings beyond quantification

This is just playing to the gallery.

The kingdom of God on earth needs money. And God has divinly fashioned it in such a way, that many things (blessings, answers to prayers etc.) are attached to the financing the growth of his kingdom (the Gospel of Jesus Christ) on earth; because that it the most important thing to God in this terrible world. Th growth of the gospel is the most important agenda to heaven, more than any single Christian's life.

But as caretakers of this proceeds given to God by Christian adherents, the men of God who are simply caretakers of the proceed, and are only meant to take from this God's money what they need to live comfortably with their family, take advantage and begins to live a life extravagance and opulence.

So even Gods knows his kingdom on earth and the gospel of Jesus Christ needs money, so for him to say THE ONLY REASON, Redeem is still collecting offerings is because they want to hey the people out of poverty is untrue . That is just reverse psychology.

And the old age adage that says, "Actions speaks louder than words " is very true. The actions of the Redeemed Church, their financial structure of collecting tithes from all the branches all over the country, leaving only offerings, does not suggest a Church leadership that's only interested in collecting money because they want to get the people out of poverty.

Also a Redeemed Church leadership that's ready not to collect even offerings from members because of their salvation would not be fraternizing so much with a corrupt government because of patronage. Such a church, it's leadership and it's head would have been telling the corrupt Nigerian government and it's officials and even the past President the truth. They would have told them God put them in their positions to use the country's resources to better the lives of the poor and the citizens; that if they do otherwise, they would face the wrath of God when they die.

So I'm sorry sir, based on these my observations I do not believe you.

What did the bible say about the hand that gives? I think that is what Adeboye meant by saying they still allow offerings because they want them out of poverty. Giving is a powerful force that can make a poor man becomes a wealthy man over night, provided it is being done with a clean heart and with clean hands.

Not that you won't get your salvation if you don't give. What he meant is that your giving will amount to a waste if you are not saved.
Now, you need to get your salvation / be saved before you should be giving because then you would have understand the principle of giving.

Take this example, you don't have international passport and Visa and you already paid/booked for fly ticket to UK, tell me will such a person fly?
So you need to do take the right step before doing the right thing.

What an insult to the generality of Nigerians, I see many members of his church who have been giving offerings remain poor, its not offerings that make us rich but Gods grace and favour. pastors should stop deceiving xtians.

The wealthiest people on this planet aren't xtians.

If a man claims to be a man of God yet displays trappings of wealth in the midst of poverty, he is not a man of God but a fraud. And please don't tell me that pastor makes money from writing books etc, if he were truly a holy man, he would use that money for the benefit of his congregation. You cannot preach the simplicity of Jesus and display oplulence especially in the midst of hunger.
