How about Donald Duke? He was a commissioner during Clement Ebri's regime. You can't count that democratic dispensation. He later became a Governor at the age of 32
Bros get ur information right.Donald Duke (born 30 September 1961 in Calabar) was the Governor of Cross River State, Nigeria from 29 May 1999 to 29 May 2007.So when did we start practising democracy in Nigeria? You can see he was commissioner before 1999.Understood?That is the essence of nairaland, share ideas and learn from each other

We practised diarchy (partial democracy) between 1991-1993 (two political parties - SDP and NRC). The governors and members of the National Assembly were all elected, while the President and Vice President were not elected.

The post wasn't about partial democracy.I said democratic commissioner.Meaning from when Nigeria started 'complete' democracy not partial democracy

Cross River State was practising democracy at the time. The Governor and Deputy Governor were both elected. Anyway, I understand what you were trying to say (it'll make things easier if you just say "in the 4th Republic" ).

Some Nigerians sha....Why do people always find joy in faulting others. See people arguing about his age..some saying football age...should that be your business. At his age, see what he has been able to achieve. He knew he was going to be a leader one day, hence he made sure he empowered himself educationally and even in the leadership aspect by attending various seminars on leadership. What i see here is a man with vision. His age should be a motivating factor for youths to aspire and achieve better feat and not something to generate dumb comments like am seeing here.

Sorry, he is not the youngest democratic commissioner. Donald Duke was 25 when he was made a commissioner during then Clement Ebri's government of Cross River State. He was commissioner of Finance. Senator (Bar) Victor Ndoma Egba (SAN) was a commissioner at 27 though during a military regime. Besides if we go back into history another great Cross Riverian Chief (bar) Ambassador Mathew Tawo Mbu was 23 years old, when he became the first High Commissioner of Nigeria to the United Kingdom at the first Republic. Please check your facts first
WOW! Cross river really has shown love to the youths by involving them a lot in politics... The youths from Cross River must be very intelligent and pro active if those name once served in government in their youth age. You guys should keep it up and I pray the whole of Nigeria follows the good examples of this people. And don't disappoint the youths of this great nation young man
