my brother it is possible vio is not a commission or a parastata they are not even a union the just operate like that. They are not paid by federal state or local government they just extort money from motorists and pay their self they are at the mercy of any government of the day.

yes, the vio is an agency under the state ministry of transport

Buhari and FCT minister should as a matter urgency investigate the operation and corrupt practice of VIO in Abuja or possibly to ban them to get facts

El-rufai does not know wat he is doing, he think should think of hw to reform de VIO's rather dan dissolving dem; dey re de state revenue generators. And finally let him scrape of de illitrate ones nd employ graduates.

They actually don't have any business chasing commuters on the roads if things are done properly. In saner countries, all vehicles (both private and public) are registered with the government under the owner's name. Also to change ownership or renew vehicle documents in such settings requires government sanctions and vehicle owners are also disciplined enough to take their vehicles to the designated authority for inspections and paper renewal as required because they are oblivious that failure to do so attracts stern penalty. So, it's a welcome development if El Rufai chased them away. One can only hope for a better Nigeria with more decisive actions from the government.

VIO- Federal and states roads
LASTMA- state roads
NPF- federal and state roads

all in the same state.

Scrap VIO, take NPF off road traffic management, leave that to FRSC and re-train LASTMA.

You're wrong!!! VIO is a Federal Agency, thats why the uniform is the same from Birnin-Kebbi to Afikpo. Unlike Lastma, which is clearly a state owned agency.
